2015 Reading Assignment Challenge sign-up

2015 Reading Assignment Challenge sign-up

Michelle and Berls have done it again! They have created another challenge for us to participate in, and of course, even if I don’t really like to plan ahead, I want to participate! The sense of community for these challenges is so strong, and I love checking up on other bloggers throughout the year. This challenge is a little different, though. We decide in advance what books to read, and the challenge lasts for the whole year 2015. There are more details, as well as all the rules over at Fantasy is More Fun and Because Reading is Better than Real Life. The main gist of The Reading Assignment Challenge is that we choose 12, 24, 36 or 48 books […]

COYER Winter Challenge Sign-up Post

COYER Winter Challenge Sign-up Post

COYER Winter 2014 Challenge Sign-up Yet again, the fantastic Berls of Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle from Because Reading is More Fun are hosting a COYER challenge. COYER stands for Clean Out Your E-Reader, and I always, always need help in that department. I am a notorious one-clicker, and I also have a lot of trouble staying away from Netgalley and Edelweiss. There are so many great-looking books I would like to read, and I seem to think I’ll be able to read them all. As of today, I have over 700 books on my kindle that I haven’t read yet. Some of those are e-ARCs, others are freebies, even more are cheap books, and some are full-price. And […]

COYER Summer Vacation Wrap-Up

COYER Summer Vacation Wrap-Up

COYER Summer Vacation Wrap-Up I can’t believe it’s over already! I mean, really? Where oh where did summer go? I felt like I would have so much time to clean out my e-reader with this challenge being so much longer than usual, too. I did quite well, though, I have posted 40 COYER reviews during this period, and I have read some more books that were already on my kindle when I started this challenge, but my reviews are scheduled for later, as I had so many things going on this summer. I want to say a huge thank you to Berls over at Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle over at Because Reading is Better than Real Life […]

COYER Summer Vacation Update #3

COYER Summer Vacation Update #3

COYER Summer Vacation Update #3 My Summer Vacation COYER challenge is still going strong, and again, this week, all my reviews are COYER reviews! I’m really happy we could include Blogtour reviews for the COYER summer challenge, as three of my reviews this week are for Blogtours. As usual, the title links go straight to my review, and in each review, there are links to the book pages on Goodreads, Booklikes and Leafmarks. 1) No Apologies by Sybil Bartel kept me up until 1:30 in the morning because I had to finish. I was so mesmerized by the story I completely forgot to post status updates on my reading sites! ★★★★★ 2) Dark Skye (Immortals After Dark #15) by Kresly […]

COYER Summer Vacation Update #2

COYER Summer Vacation Update #2

COYER Summer Vacation Update #2 I decided I should really post weekly updates for the Summer Vacation COYER challenge, it’s easier for me to keep up with things this way. This week, all my five reviews were COYER reviews, which brings my total COYER reviews for this challenge up to 15. The links go straight to each review – and on each review there are direct links to the books on Goodreads, Booklikes and Leafmarks. 1) Confessions of a Royal Bridegroom by Vanessa Kelly got ★★★★☆ because it actually had a historical romance heroine who was a bluestocking, and the rakish hero couldn’t help falling for her anyway. 2) Hunter by Night by Elisabeth Staab received ★★★☆☆ since her vampires […]

COYER Summer Vacation Update #1

COYER Summer Vacation Update #1

COYER Summer Vacation Challenge Update #1 Yeah, it’s taken me the practically the whole month of July before doing an update post for the COYER Summer Vacation challenge. What can I say? I’ve been busy reading? Playing with the kids? Staying dry from the rain? Yes to all of those, actually. And I guess I kind of forgot about the updates a little bit, and that just won’t do. I’m not even sure how many books I’ve read for the COYER challenge so far, so here we go. All the links go straight to the review of the book, and in each review, there are links to the bookpage on Goodreads, Booklikes and Leafmarks. 1) Lockstep by Karl Schroeder. […]

COYER Summer Vacation Welcome to my sign-up post for the COYER Summer Vacation challenge! I am so happy there will be yet another COYER challenge, as my kindle would be weighing in at several hundred pounds if it contained actual paper books… As usual, our hosts for the COYER Summer Vacation challenge are Michelle @ Because Reading, and Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun. LGBT April Wrap-up Post

LGBT April Wrap-up Post

LGBT April Wrap-up Post I know I’m a little late with my wrap-up post, and I didn’t manage to read as many LGBT books as I had planned in April. But I’m really happy I was able to participate at all – I even managed to go to a twitter party 😀 LGBT April was hosted by Cayce of Fighting Dreamer and Laura of Laura plus Books. And I applaud both of them for hosting this amazing challenge – awareness is really important. And they have started a new LGBT challenge right off the bat, this one is open until November 30th, so don’t hesitate to link up! My oldest daughter painted the button above for me, I love it! […]

#COYER Wrap-up Post

The COYER challenge is over for this time, and I am happy to say I reached my challenge goal of 15 books read during the month of March, since I actually read 16. I am just linking to my reviews below, and I will also let you know whether or not I enjoyed each book, of course. Our lovely COYER hosts have been Berls of Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle of Because Reading is Better Than Real Life, and I want to thank both of them for all the fun I’ve had once more with the COYER challenge. During one of the COYER twitter parties, there was mention of another COYER challenge taking place next July, so keep your […]

LGBT Month – Sign-up Post

LGBT Month – Sign-up Post

LGBT Month is hosted by Cayce at Fighting Dreamer and Laura at Laura Plus Books. It runs throughout April and it’s here to celebrate LGBT readers, LGBT authors and of course LGBT books! Throughout April, Laura and Cayce decided to celebrate LGBT by reading books where at least one of the characters is gay, lesbian, transsexual or bisexual. As there aren’t that many books out there that I know of with LGBT characters, I decided to sign up as well. However, for me, this is supposed to be all positive! So if you don’t think it is, please don’t leave me a comment – just leave, it’s very easy to find the little cross up there in the corner to […]
