Unearthing a Bookish Bounty Mid-Year Checkin

Unearthing a Bookish Bounty Mid-Year Checkin

We thought it’d be fun to do a mid-year checkin for our Unearthing a Bookish Bounty challenge. As you know, Linda and I challenged ourselves to read books we own this year rather than purchasing or requesting ARCs of new books. The official rules can be found here if you’re curious. If you’re participating in any way, make sure to let us know the bookish bounty you’ve unearthed so far this year. Here is the bounty Brandee has unearthed so far this year: Brandee (un)Conventional Bookworms’s bookshelf: bookish-bounty-challenge Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh Masters and Mercenaries Bundle by Lexi Blake Mine to Take by Cynthia Eden Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole Captive Prince by C.S. COYER All Year Long – Quarantine Edition

COYER All Year Long – Quarantine Edition

Today is the start of a new era – because we get COYER for the whole year. And Michelle and Berls over at Because Reading decided it would be a good idea to start now that we’re all in confinement. COYER All Year Long Rules: So the first part of this is that COYER will now be all year. That’s right! For all-year COYER, there will be traditional rules: Read Your E-Reads! Every book you read MUST be in an electronic format – meaning E-Book or Audiobook. It’s okay to start a book before March 23rd, but you must be less than half way for it to count then review it during COYER. The books must be FREE or NEARLY […]

(un)Conventional Bookworms ~ Unearthing a Bookish Bounty

(un)Conventional Bookworms ~ Unearthing a Bookish Bounty

Happy 2020, y’all! I can’t believe we’re into a new year much less a new decade. To kick off a new year/decade, Linda and I are kicking off a self-challenge: Unearthing a Bookish Bounty. I’m sure we’ve all participated in challenges where we read books we own. Well, I decided I wanted to read exclusively (almost) what I own in 2020 because I know I have quite a bookish bounty on my shelves. And Linda was gracious enough (she’s such a wonderful blogger wife!) to agree to participate as well. Here’s a little glimpse into why this challenge is essential to me: As you can see, I have more than enough physical books to keep me reading for quite a […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Pucked Over – Helena Hunting

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Pucked Over – Helena Hunting

Pucked Over is such a good play on words, but can we just start with all the hockey players’ names? I mean, I’m always waiting to see what it is, because it makes me laugh so hard. Randy Ballistic? It’s awesome, don’t you think? Oh the titles, the names, the characters…this series has been so much fun all around! But yeah, Randy “Balls” Ballistic is the greatest name. And it fits him so well. 😉   Pucked Over was just as humorous and hot as the other Pucked books, and I really loved getting to know Lily better. What did you think of her? And the fact that she was also a sportswoman? I loved getting to know Lily. She […]

2020 New Release Challenge Sign-up

2020 New Release Challenge The 2020 New Release Challenge is a year-long challenge in which we aim to read books released in 2020.  Brandee and I are the sole hosts of the challenge, and we both hope many of you will sign up and participate!  There is one post on the top of our homepage for all review links for the year, where the link is open for books you read and review each quarter. I also want to say a big thank you to Michelle @ Limabean Designs for creating our beautiful logo!! In 2019, I read 140 books that counted for the New Release Challenge, and I don’t see why this should be any different for 2020. […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month Review #1 ~ Pucked ~ Helena Hunting

Can You Read a Series in a Month Review #1 ~ Pucked ~ Helena Hunting

Oh golly was Pucked a lot of fun! I loved Violet! Her klutziness, her lack of filter…the things that came out of her mouth! LOL I adored Alex, too. His loyalty, his tenacity, his loving Violet for exactly who she is. I have a feeling I might fly through this series! Highlights: Characters Not only was I delighted with Violet and Alex but HHunting populated their story with an outstanding secondary cast. From Alex’s teammates to his parents and Vi’s step-brother, parents, and best friend – they all combined to better convey the character of Violet and Alex. The secondary characters also gave depth to the story. Plus, I’m eager to learn more about quite a few hockey players. 😉 […]
