Bookworm Bites ~ The Blood King & The Warrior King ~ Abigail Owen

Bookworm Bites ~ The Blood King & The Warrior King ~ Abigail Owen

Wowza! The Blood King was fantastic! Ladon and Skylar’s story was action-packed! There were lots of dragon battles as well as battles of will and battles of the heart. These two were absolutely fated for each other but both were too stubborn to recognize the signs. Once they did, they were too stubborn to want to give in. LOL The banter between these two was fun and built the sexual tension. There was more to the story than the romance though. We got to know more about dragon culture and the ways in which phoenixes and dragons ruled together. And we got even more insight into Pytheios’s sick determination to be the immortal ruler of all dragon clans. I read […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Layla ~ Colleen Hoover

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Layla ~ Colleen Hoover

With Layla, CoHo dipped her toes into unchartered waters – paranormal romance. I wasn’t sure what I was going to get other than I knew I’d enjoy it. And I wasn’t wrong. CoHo delivered on what I knew to expect from her – a well written story with fully realized characters – and on what I could only have imagined. Layla was suspenseful, mysterious, twisty, romantic, and AMAZING. It really was! I had so many different theories as I was reading Layla, with each little thing that happened, I was totally going off in my imagination. As always, CoHo did very well. I adored Layla from the start. She was so open and honest, insightful and REAL…refreshing. Her meeting Leeds […]

Review: Archangel’s Sun – Nalini Singh

Review: Archangel’s Sun – Nalini Singh

In Archangel’s Sun, an Archangel who is known for being strong, and an artist who is thought to be weak have to fight the reborn together to save the world. Archangel’s Sun in which Singh so totally did it again! I have loved her Guild Hunter series from the start, and even now, after all this time, it keeps getting better with each book! I mean, Brandee, my co-blogger (or blogger-wife) and I face-timed tonight, when I was at around 60% through the novel, and I kept telling her that Titus and Shari were screaming at me to hang up with her and keep up with their story 😉 Shari is the Hummingbird – Illium’s illustrious, artistic, but apparently broken […]

Audio Review ~ Untouchable ~ Kresley Cole

Audio Review ~ Untouchable ~ Kresley Cole

Untouchable revolved around characters – Murdoch and Daniela – that I didn’t know much about. I certainly felt for them considering the hurdles their relationship presented. While I enjoyed the story, it wasn’t my favorite in the series. Highlights Characters Murdoch Wroth, previously known for his playboy ways, had a kink thrown into his sex life when he became a vampire. When he’s blooded by his bride, Daniela, his situation doesn’t improve. That’s because Daniela, being a Valkyrie/Icere fae, can’t be touched. Murdoch thinks this won’t be a problem – he’ll simply return to his playboy ways. But as he and Daniela spend time together he realizes that once you find your bride, no one else will do. My issue […]

Audio Review ~ Kiss of a Demon King ~ Kresley Cole

Audio Review ~ Kiss of a Demon King ~ Kresley Cole

It’d been awhile since I visited the Immortals After Dark series and I’m so happy I kicked off my 2020 audio year with Kiss of a Demon King. While Kiss of a Demon King wasn’t as action-packed as other installments, I did enjoy seeing Rydstrom find and fight for his fated female. And Sabine was an absolute delight! Much of their repartee was quite comedic. Visiting with others from the Lore was a bonus. Highlights: Characters Rydstrom has spent centuries waiting for his fated one as well as the return of his kingdom. He’s know for being steady and good, so being straddled with Sabine as his female understandably gives him pause. Sabine is the Queen of Illusions, a sorceri allied with […]

Audio Review ~ Night Reigns ~ Dianne Duvall

Audio Review ~ Night Reigns ~ Dianne Duvall

Night Reigns was equally as gripping and action-packed as its predecessor. Not only did I get Marcus’ and Ami’s story, but Duvall also delivered a few more pieces to the overall puzzle. I’m entranced with all the characters and the overall story! Highlights: Characters Marcus has believed for some time now that he doesn’t have much to live for. He lost his first love – twice – and he simply lives to fulfill his duties as an Immortal Guardian but does so recklessly. Then Seth assigns Ami as his Second and Marcus comes to realize he might have something to live for after all. We’d gotten a time glimpse of Ami in book 1 and I was more than a […]

Blogger Wife Chat Release Day Review ~ Hidden Powers ~ Tara Lain @TaraLain @ViviannaIzzo

Blogger Wife Chat Release Day Review ~ Hidden Powers ~ Tara Lain @TaraLain @ViviannaIzzo

Hidden Powers wasn’t exactly was I was expecting since I didn’t realize it was YA/NA, but TLain exceeded any other expectations I had by taking on another facet of PNR – younger characters. The result was exciting, entertaining, and suspenseful! I didn’t realize that either, but I really loved that it was! Plus, it was nice to see some familiar characters from the Harker pack! First things first, wifey… This is the start of a new series yet it’s a spinoff of TLain’s Harker series. I haven’t read that series and while I did realize these characters had already been introduced but I never felt lost. And it certainly didn’t take away from my enjoyment of Hidden Powers. I believe […]

New Release Review ~ Tamed by the She-Wolf ~ Kristal Hollis

New Release Review ~ Tamed by the She-Wolf ~ Kristal Hollis

Tamed by the She-Wolf is the fifth installment in KHollis’ Wahyas of Walker’s Run series and a worthy addition. I appreciated getting Angeline’s story and I admired Hollis for incorporating a disability into the story. Highlights: Main Characters I’d met Angeline previously and was more than a little curious about her. She was adamantly against relationships and I wanted to know why. And boy was there a story there! On top of that, she was raised by her dad and two older brothers, having lost her mother early. Because of that, she felt the weight of certain expectations on her shoulders. She didn’t want to disappoint her dad – she felt he’d see her having feelings as a weakness […]

Review ~ Blood Avenged ~ Gabrielle Bisset

Review ~ Blood Avenged ~ Gabrielle Bisset

I’m a mood reader and I was in the mood for some PNR. Since the box set of books 1-3 in the Sons of Navarus series had been on my ereader for quite some time so I decided to give Blood Avenged a try. While I had some issues with the story, I thought this introductory installment wasn’t too bad and I’ll continue the series. Blood Avenged had a lot of potential. There seemed to be a mythology behind these vampires with their ability, or lack thereof, to sire more vampires and the ruling body that apparently keeps the vampires in line. There was also the blood feud between two vampires in this installment as well as Sasa, her unique abilities […]

Audio Review ~ Darkness Dawns ~ Dianne Duvall

Audio Review ~ Darkness Dawns ~ Dianne Duvall

Darkness Dawns served as my introduction to Dianne Duvall and I’m kicking myself for not having listened to it sooner! It was chock full of excitement, romance, action, and a new-to-me spin on vampires and immortals. The fact it was narrated by Kirsten Potter was gravy! Highlights: MCs Darkness Dawns revolved around Sarah and Roland and I adored them both! Sarah might be pint-sized but she’s tough – mentally and physically. She’s not one to back down from a challenge – or a rescue – when necessary. That worked to Roland’s advantage since she comes to his aid. Roland is an Immortal Guardian and is described often as being anti-social. He’s prickly and doesn’t interact with anyone if he […]
