Audio Review ~ Untouchable ~ Kresley Cole

Murdoch Wroth will stop at nothing to claim Daniela the Ice Maiden -- the delicate Valkyrie who makes his heart beat for the first time in three hundred years. Yet the exquisite Danii is part ice fey, and her freezing skin can't be touched by anyone but her own kind without inflicting pain beyond measure. Soon desperate for closeness, in an agony of frustration, Murdoch and Danii will do anything to have each other. Together, can they find the key that will finally allow them to slake the overwhelming desire burning between them?

Untouchable revolved around characters – Murdoch and Daniela – that I didn’t know much about. I certainly felt for them considering the hurdles their relationship presented. While I enjoyed the story, it wasn’t my favorite in the series.

• Characters
  Murdoch Wroth, previously known for his playboy ways, had a kink thrown into his sex life when he became a vampire. When he’s blooded by his bride, Daniela, his situation doesn’t improve. That’s because Daniela, being a Valkyrie/Icere fae, can’t be touched. Murdoch thinks this won’t be a problem – he’ll simply return to his playboy ways. But as he and Daniela spend time together he realizes that once you find your bride, no one else will do. My issue with these two was two-fold – the inability to touch became tedious and that allowed for a lot of vacillating between wanting each other and not trusting each other. TEDIOUS.
• Suspense
  Daniela is the rightful heir of Icere but the current king wants her out of the picture. The suspense created by those hunting Daniela and Murdoch hunting those who would dare to harm his bride made for excitement in the story. In fact, it helped balance my frustration with the romance.
• Narration
  ROBERT PETKOFF. That should be all I have to say. 😉 He makes this series a complete and total aural delight!
