Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Next Mrs Russo ~ Jana Aston

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Next Mrs Russo ~ Jana Aston

Hooray! JAston is BACK! And with The Next Mrs Russo she’s better than ever! 🙂 Oh my gosh – it was all I could have ever wished for and more! I immediately fell for Audrey. Her quirky personality and her hysterical internal dialog was so much fun and it allowed us to really get to know her. I adored that she up-cycled vintage clothing (I didn’t know that was a thing) and that her plumbing was essentially held together with duct tape. Audrey made me realize how much I’d missed JAston’s characters. What about you? Audrey was fantastic – I loved her stream-of-consciousness talking and thinking. I had never heard of up-cycling vintage clothing either, but that was so cool […]

Review ~ The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared ~ Jonas Jonasson

Review ~ The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared ~ Jonas Jonasson

What a fun, quirky story! The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared is reminiscent of Forest Gump and Allan Karlsson is every bit as endearing and loveable. Steven Crossley, the narrator, who was new to me, made the story that much more entertaining. He was able to convey the wit of Allen’s antics perfectly. Allan, a Swedish man with unique talents (specifically blowing up things), has had a hand in many – possibly every – historical event in his century-long life. Of course, Allan never intended to play a role in any of the events he inadvertently participated in. The only things he truly cared about were having food to eat, vodka to drink, and a place […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge Reviews ~ Pucked Series ~ Helena Hunting

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge Reviews ~ Pucked Series ~ Helena Hunting

Woohoo! This time I did indeed read a series in a month! And I’m patting myself on the back considering I had TWO trips to the Pacific Northwest during the month of November. Of course, 6 hour round-trip flights and time to read while waiting on kids to get out of class helped. 😉 The Pucked Series was so much fun and if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it! *Note* I only read the 6 main novels of the series. I still have novellas to read. 😀 Here are the reviews that haven’t already been posted. Pucked Up features Buck/Miller and Sunny, who is Alex’s younger sister. There was a lot of angst in Miller and Sunny’s […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread ~ Jana Aston

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread ~ Jana Aston

If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread was even more satisfying than its predecessor. Of course, it could have been the British accent. Or the sexy banter. Or all the baking! Yeah, it was definitely the British accent. 😉 All of the above 🙂 I loved the British accent. And I also adored the sexy banter. Plus, the baking was just as hot as the steamy scenes. I don’t know what it was but I found Ginger’s story even more entertaining. Maybe because we’d met her before? Or maybe it’s because she’s adorable…like a kitten. I was thoroughly entranced her her and her inner monologue, her daydreams where she’d get lost in the haze, her real dreams of owning her […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month Review #1 ~ Pucked ~ Helena Hunting

Can You Read a Series in a Month Review #1 ~ Pucked ~ Helena Hunting

Oh golly was Pucked a lot of fun! I loved Violet! Her klutziness, her lack of filter…the things that came out of her mouth! LOL I adored Alex, too. His loyalty, his tenacity, his loving Violet for exactly who she is. I have a feeling I might fly through this series! Highlights: Characters Not only was I delighted with Violet and Alex but HHunting populated their story with an outstanding secondary cast. From Alex’s teammates to his parents and Vi’s step-brother, parents, and best friend – they all combined to better convey the character of Violet and Alex. The secondary characters also gave depth to the story. Plus, I’m eager to learn more about quite a few hockey players. 😉 […]

New Release Review ~ Plan B ~ Jana Aston

New Release Review ~ Plan B ~ Jana Aston

I had to wait awhile on Plan B and I can tell you this: it was every bit worth the wait! JAston writes rom-com expertly. She kept me giggle-snorting while flipping through the pages as quickly as I could! We got a little taste of Daisy in all her crazy-fun glory in Sure Thing, the first book in the Best Laid Plans series. She was wild enough to be pulling a twin switcheroo at her job! I already loved her “live life to its fullest” approach to live so I was eager to get her story. And while Daisy may jump in with both feet before considering the consequences, she’s also smart, loyal, compassionate and responsible…most of the time. 😉 […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Good Time – Jana Aston

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Good Time – Jana Aston

Good Time was hilarious, don’t you think, Wifey? I was reading on the train back from Zurich this weekend, and I not only laughed out loud, I also snorted. Loudly. So that not only my daughter turned her head to look at me – other people on the train did as well. Payton was so funny – and she didn’t even mean to be, what did you think of her? Omigosh was Good Time hilarious!! I also giggle-snorted and I had to read parts aloud to Hubs because my reactions made him curious. Payton was funny without ever meaning to be. Being in her head, listening to her justify her actions to herself…I don’t know how anyone could NOT love […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Pierced ~ J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain #2018NewRelease

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Pierced ~ J.A. Huss & Johnathan McClain #2018NewRelease

To say I was anxious for Pierced, Pierce and Myrtle’s story, would be an understatement. I wanted to know more about them both but mostly I wanted to watch and laugh as Pierce tried to dig himself out of the mess he’d created with Myrtle. And while he definitely buried himself deeper before he managed to dig himself out, I rather enjoyed the process and seeing Myrtle get Pierced. 😉 LOL, Pierce made me laugh so hard. Especially with the way he tried to apologize, and ehem, ‘lower’ himself so that he’d have another chance with Myrtle. And I loved how their friends knew better than them what was going on with their relationship 😀  Pierce. Wow. I kept asking […]

Review: Angry Annie – Dawn L. Chiletz

Review: Angry Annie – Dawn L. Chiletz

Angry Annie was a hoot! It kept me company on the plane back from Denver and BookBonanza, and I had so many laugh out loud moments. Story: Angry Annie was such a fun romantic comedy, and my first foray (but definitely NOT the last!) into Chiletz’s books. Joselyn had goals, but she had strange ways of going about achieving them. Trying to figure out who Annie was, and why her reviews were always so angry, became her new goal. She wanted to show the world what a sorry person Annie was – but things didn’t go as planned. As Angry Annie unfolded, Joselyn found herself actually liking the older woman. Even when Annie was difficult and short tempered, she told […]

Review: Good Girl – Jana Aston

Review: Good Girl – Jana Aston

Good Girl was delightful! Aston did well – she even made me love her virgin heroine (which is truly a feat, I usually don’t enjoy virgin heroines in my romances). And there was so much humor, and all the feels. Where do I even start with Good Girl? It was so much fun! But it was also very, very hot. Lydia is not your typical romance heroine, that’s for sure. She’s a little naïve. A lot fun. Very organized. A great friend. And she works hard. She really want’s to get rid of her pesky virginity though. In fact, that’s been the case for quite a while. She just hasn’t really felt like ripping her clothes off for anyone so […]
