Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth, and he was drafted into the NHL during his first year of college. After five years of deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies across the Continental US and parts of Canada, Miller is ready for a girlfriend. A real girlfriend of the non-bunny variety. One he takes on dates and doesn’t jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike Alex Waters, center, team captain and all round nice guy—who happens to be dating his step-sister—Miller’s manwhore reputation is well earned, and not blown out of proportion by the media. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about having a girlfriend. But he’s determined to make it happen.

What he doesn’t take into account is the amount of time and effort relationships require, or that constantly letting bunnies take selfies with him to post all over social media isn’t going to win him any points in the boyfriend department. Miller learns—not so quickly—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

Woohoo! This time I did indeed read a series in a month! And I’m patting myself on the back considering I had TWO trips to the Pacific Northwest during the month of November. Of course, 6 hour round-trip flights and time to read while waiting on kids to get out of class helped. 😉 The Pucked Series was so much fun and if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it! *Note* I only read the 6 main novels of the series. I still have novellas to read. 😀

Here are the reviews that haven’t already been posted.

Pucked Up features Buck/Miller and Sunny, who is Alex’s younger sister. There was a lot of angst in Miller and Sunny’s story, thanks to Miller’s man-whore status – prior to his committing to Sunny – and social media. There was also quite a bit of humor a la things like spider bites and poison ivy in less that desirable locations. 😉 But I absolutely adored Miller and Sunny’s romance once it was in full bloom.

Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be?

In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he’s an incurable romantic with an XL heart, and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Literally. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material.

So it makes complete sense that Violet Hall can’t wait to nail him down to the matrimonial mattress and become Mrs. Violet Waters.

It’s so romantic.

Violet is totally stoked to set a date.

Eventually. At some point. Likely before the next millennium. Or when Violet stops getting hives every time someone brings up the wedding, and their mothers stop colluding on stadium sized venues. Whichever comes first.

Forever Pucked once again focuses on Alex and Violet. And, as its title implies, it’s about a wedding. Alex and Violet’s to be precise. Y’all, I’m so invested in these characters’ lives, I’m seriously going to miss them once I finish the series. Anyway, I thought Pucked Over was serious in tone but it has nothing on this installment. I was shocked and nervous and scared right alongside Violet. It’s crazy though how a little perspective can help you overcome something as trivial as breaking out in hives whenever your wedding is mentioned. I adored spending time with the entire gang, watching them rally around each other, getting closer to them as they got closer to each other. And I thrilled at how Alex and Violet got their HEA.

I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance."

I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.

Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.

I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.

At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.

I shouldn’t want her.

But I do.

I should leave her alone.

But I won’t.

Pucked Off was a fascinating story! I had this preconceived notion of who Lance was. Watching as he partied and screwed around with LOTS of girls, well it’s easy to see where I got my ideas. And, of course, I was seeing him through the eyes of the other characters. But Lance was so far from a party guy/man-whore with anger management issues. What I got to see, what I learned about him made my heart hurt. He was such a tortured soul. And then he found Poppy. There was something about Poppy that soothed Lance. She gave him reason to be better, to work at being better. For himself, his teammates, and for her. And watching their romance blossom, seeing how they each glowed in the other’s presence, was magical. Pucked Off is my favorite of the series. 🙂

As an NHL player, relationships haven’t been my thing. Shrouded in secrecy and speculation, they never last very long. But then that’s what happens when you require an NDA before the first date.

Until Charlene. She’s like a firefly. She’s elusive, and if you catch her she’ll burn bright, but keeping her trapped dulls her fire and dims her beauty.

I caught her. And as much as I might want to keep her, I’ll never put the lid on her jar. Not at the risk of losing her. So I've let her set the rules in our relationship.

But as long hidden secrets expose us both, I discover exactly how fragile Charlene is, and how much I need her.

We’re all broken. We’re all messed up. Some more than others. Me more than most.

In Pucked Love, we’re finally, finally made privy to the relationship between Charlene and Darren. It was something I, along with the entire cast, was more than a little curious about. And I laughed  at the fact it wasn’t  all I (or the entire cast) had envisioned/imagined it being. There was far less humor in this final installment but then Charlene and Darren had pasts that were anything but funny. In fact, their pasts explained so much about them and their attitudes and actions concerning relationships of any kind. And while things drug on a little bit, I also felt it was realistic for their situation and I admired Darren’s recognition of and respect for Charlene’s, um, quirks. I delighted in how things worked out. And I appreciated the epilogue where I got a glimpse into the future of all the couples.

Way to go, Brandee! This is a series that I’m interested in after Shari read them for our sports romance event. Now, you’ve shared how great they are, too.

  2. WAY TO GO!!! That is amazing B!! So proud of you, depending on the series that can be really difficult. I actually have never done a whole series in a month….might think about trying that out in 2020!! This series is fun (at least the books I have read so far)
