Dear Santa,

I do not want Keller James for Christmas.

I will not fall for him, no matter how charming or irresistible or famous he is. I will not be swayed by his skills in the kitchen or by his British accent. I’m going to win the Great Gingerbread Bake Off and no one is going to stand in my way. Not even Keller.

All kisses are off. I mean all bets. All bets are off. And his clothes, those are off too.

Grr, never mind. I’ll figure this out myself.

XOXO,
Ginger Winter

If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread was even more satisfying than its predecessor. Of course, it could have been the British accent. Or the sexy banter. Or all the baking! Yeah, it was definitely the British accent. 😉

All of the above 🙂 I loved the British accent. And I also adored the sexy banter. Plus, the baking was just as hot as the steamy scenes.

I don’t know what it was but I found Ginger’s story even more entertaining. Maybe because we’d met her before? Or maybe it’s because she’s adorable…like a kitten. I was thoroughly entranced her her and her inner monologue, her daydreams where she’d get lost in the haze, her real dreams of owning her own bakery, and her confidence in achieving her dreams – contest be damned! Did you adore Ginger, too?

I absolutely adored Ginger. I think in a way, I could relate to her more than to Holli. I don’t really know why, though. She was more driven, and less shy. Plus I loved how Ginger interacted with Keller was adorkable. I legiterally laughed out loud so many times while reading If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread.

A Gingerbread Bake-off in Reindeer Falls was a brilliant premise. As was having a yummy celebrity chef as a contestant. I felt as though we got a better idea of just who Keller was, probably due to having more interaction between him and Ginger. The humorous innuendo, sexy banter, and flirting was fun but he also took the time to get to know her. And he bakes! What did you think of Keller?

I loved that he even went on all her errands with her just because he wanted to spend time with her. And he really did want to get to know her – not just flirt with her and have a fling. I found the bake-off plot to be very a propos, too. And it was fun to see things from Ginger’s and Keller’s perspective, as we got a tiny preview in Holli’s book.

The Bake-off really was a cute plot device and I appreciated how JAston made it feel so realistic. It also enabled Ginger and Keller to spend more time together…or at least ogle each other. 😉 Did you like the Bake-off?

I adored it. I think I enjoy reading about reality shows more than I enjoy actually watching them. Because in a book, the focus is on the main characters, not on all the people who participate in the show. And so, I felt like it was the perfect backdrop for the romance in If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread.

Once again, JAston nailed the sweet romance while also delivering her signature humor. Obviously, I’m a fan of the Winter sisters and I’m more than a little eager for Noel’s story. 🙂

The humor was so well paced! And I again found the characters to be true to themselves and rather realistic. Awesome book! And yeah, what in the world is up with Noel?

I’m definitely going to have to read this series. Y’all are doing it on audio I guess, based on the british accent comments? Baking feels so perfect with the holidays too. Loving these chats!

I love the bake-off story line! I will have to keep an eye for the first book and thus one as well now.
