Review: The Gamble – Kristen Ashley

Review: The Gamble – Kristen Ashley

Sweet, hot, mysterious… The Gamble brought out all the feels! Great characters, a solid plot, and so much romance. Not sure my The Gamble review will be all that coherent, because I’m still a bundle of feels over Nina and Max! I loved both of them from the very start. The little nicknames, how Max took care of Nina even if he wanted her out of his house at first, and the incredible chemistry between them. I have always enjoyed KA’s stories, but I have to say that this one really had everything going for it. There is a mystery, an annoying father, new friends to meet… Plus, there are some past issues in both Max and Nina’s lives that need […]

Audio Review: Lucifer’s Daughter – Eve Langlais

Audio Review: Lucifer’s Daughter – Eve Langlais

Lucifer’s Daughter is Fun, feisty and with enough action to keep you compelled and immersed in the story from start to finish. Any time I pick up a Langlais book, I’m pretty sure I’ll get lots of humor, lots of sexy hotness, and a good story to entertain me. That’s also what I got with Lucifer’s Daughter, Muriel was a hoot, and her being a virgin made dear old daddy Satan mad! She really needed to sin more – if not, people might think he was failing at being bad. Muriel had decided to wait for love before sharing herself fully, though, both because a lot of guys would do anything to tap Lucifer’s Daughter… and others would do anything to […]

Review: Hidden Heat – Carla Swafford

Review: Hidden Heat – Carla Swafford

Hidden Heat is a fast-paced romantic suspense that unfolds in the midst of a criminal MC, and where the heroine should stay far away, but she wants to keep her brother safe. The danger lurking everywhere in Hidden Heat kept me on the edge of my seat, and the absolute hotness between Cassidy and Thorn sweetened the deal! Cassidy did get on my nerves a little at times, though – she never really thought things through – especially if she was upset about something. And she was that. Quite often, too. She would go off on people she’d be much better off not even talking to in the first place, and she put herself and others in danger when she […]

2016 New Release Challenge Wrap-Up Post

Another year is over, and so, it’s time to wrap up the 2016 New Release Challenge, choose some giveaway winners, say goodbye to the old year, and hello to the new 🙂 2016 New Release Challenge Wrap-Up The 2016 New Release Challenge was a big success, as we were many people participating, and with a total of 687 reviews linked up by participants! Reflecting on 2016 – What happened this year?

Reflecting on 2016 – What happened this year?

2016 is almost over, and so I’m reflecting on the year past, asking myself what happened this year? Here on the blog and in my offline life, what have I been up to? What am I happy about, and what would be good to change in the new year? Books I read in 2016 I somehow ended up reading less books in 2016 than in prior years. I know I’ve been busy with both work and with my thesis, but still… I kind of wish I had read more books! I did manage to read 160 books this year, though, and I certainly enjoyed most of them. ARCs I Read in 2016 I am quite amazed at the fact that […]

Pokémon Book Tag

Pokémon Book Tag

Aentee @ I Read At Midnight had this fun Pokemon book tag going last summer, and I knew I wanted to do it as well. I’ve just not found the time to get around to it until now. Which is kind of sad, but also kind of fun, because maybe it will start over again now? With other bloggers doing it now instead of last summer. Oh my, I think I just have to mention an author who started my love for reading, and that’s Astrid Lindgren! Her children’s books are so amazing, and I bet you have all heard of Pippi Longstocking! There are many others, though, and her characters became my childhood friends, from Emil, Tommy and Annika […]

Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts #97 – The Duke’s Accidental Wife

Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts #97 – The Duke’s Accidental Wife

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #97 Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post. The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well […]

Twelve Days of Christmas – A Seasonal Book-tag

Twelve Days of Christmas – A Seasonal Book-tag

This week, I’m not posting any reviews, so a Twelve Days of Christmas tag is kind of perfect, as I’m wrapping things up and looking towards 2017… I found this tag over at Kristen’s Metaphors & Moonlight, and the original was found by her on YouTube at LizzieLovesBooks. If you want to be tagged, consider yourself tagged. Twelve Days of Christmas Book tag: A Partridge in a pear tree: Favorite Stand-Alone Book? The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater blew me away! The mythology is very ‘other’ and the characters moved the story forward in such a way I thought they were almost real. Two Turtle Doves: Fictional OTP/Favorite Ship? Kate and Curran from Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series are awesome! […]
