Twelve Days of Christmas – A Seasonal Book-tag

Posted 28 December, 2016 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Uncategorized / 15 Comments

This week, I’m not posting any reviews, so a Twelve Days of Christmas tag is kind of perfect, as I’m wrapping things up and looking towards 2017… I found this tag over at Kristen’s Metaphors & Moonlight, and the original was found by her on YouTube at LizzieLovesBooks. If you want to be tagged, consider yourself tagged.

Christmas Tree - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Twelve Days of Christmas Book tag:

A Partridge in a pear tree: Favorite Stand-Alone Book?

The Scorpio Races cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater blew me away! The mythology is very ‘other’ and the characters moved the story forward in such a way I thought they were almost real.

Two Turtle Doves: Fictional OTP/Favorite Ship?

Magic Bites cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Kate and Curran from Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series are awesome! They keep on loving each other, respecting each other and trusting each other.

Frost Burned cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

But they’re tied with Patricia Brigg’s Mercy and Adam in the Mercy Thompson series, for the same reasons!

Three French Hens: Favorite Trilogy?

Shatter Me

The Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. Love, love, love!!

Four Calling Birds: Favorite Fictional Beast/Creature?

This is just unfair!! Vampires, werewolves, elves, pixies, witches, wizards… why do I have to choose one? I think I’ll have to go with shifter, though, because Curran and Adam…

Five Golden Rings: Show 5 Golden Books

img_8925

So yeah, I cheated a little bit, as I didn’t have any books with completely golden covers, and I only had four with something golden on them at all…

Six Geese a Laying: Rotten egg – What’s your least favorite book?

I don’t really keep track of stuff I don’t like, I rather enjoy staying positive, so there’s nothing to see here. Carry on;)

Seven Swans a Swimming: Show a Book with Water on the Cover

death-on-the-nile-cover

Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie – I needed a good murder mystery on this list, right?

Eight Maids a Milking: What fictional food do you wish you could taste?

I think I’d like to try something either from Faerie (but not while in Faerie) or something from Everafter, just because demons need to eat, too…

Nine Ladies Dancing: Favorite dance between two characters?

Cowboys Don't Come Out cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

I absolutely loved the dancing that took place in Tara Lain’s Cowboys Don’t Come Out!!

Ten Lords a Leaping: Favorite Book-To-Movie-Adaptation?

me-before-you-movie-poster

Me Before You – I actually enjoyed the move more than the book, and that is unheard of for me!

Eleven Pipers Piping: Favorite Book-To-Movie-Adaptation Soundtrack?

The Hunger Games. There was a lot of great music in those movies, and that brought both the story and the characters to life in an amazing way.

Twelve Drummers Drumming: It’s the end of the song; what’s your favorite book ending?

In my fave fiction, I love it when things end well. So when the characters are as happy and safe as possible, I’m a happy reader… If the ending is somewhat open – so that I can dream of their journey continuing – all the better!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope these last days of 2016 are treating you well, that you’re not stressed out about anything, and all ready for the new year to start 🙂

    • I agree that the books were better than the movies, but the movies were really well done 🙂 I love Anna and Charles, too, but they’ve had less stories lately (or maybe because I started with them, and then afterwards I got caught up with Mercy and Adam 🙂 )

  1. Yes, yes, yes!!! This is a fun way to show off some of your favorites, Lexxie. I think you know I stand in agreement with you on Mercy and Adam and Kate and Curran. I also loved The Hunger Games – books and movies. Anyway, thanks for sharing this. And The Scorpio Races *will* be read in 2017!!! (by me 😉 )
