Oh man! Taking Turns is dark. And addictive. And enticing. And twisted. And mysterious. And sexy. And so very complex and complicated. Taking Turns made me a little uneasy before I picked it up. I mean, yeah, Huss is one of my favorite authors, but her stuff can be extremely dark. And taboo. And a little uncomfortable. And pushing boundaries. Justice Ascending is extremely tense, there are traitors in the midst of our heroes, and there is love, betrayal, hope and so much action it’s impossible to sit still while reading! The Scorpius Syndrome is one of my favorite dystopian series – it is really realistic in many ways, and even more so in Justice Ascending. From the start of Finding Kyle, I had that awful feeling in my stomach, you know, when you know something is wrong? Don’t You Cry is a deliciously creepy, mysterious tale, where the plot only fully unfolds at the very end of the story. At first, I had a little bit of trouble getting into the story of Don’t You Cry (and for the whole time, I had Axl Rose singing in my mind…) because it was quite slow, and one of the narrators was a little… hmm how should I say it?… dense. Review: Max – Saywer Bennett

Max is hands down the most swoony of the hockey players in Cold Fury Hockey, like a knight in shining armour, but with a wicked humor. I think Max wins the book boyfriend of the year prize for 2016 (as I read this last year). He was so amazing, he met a woman he found intriguing, and wasn’t scared by the fact that she was raising three young children on her own – having two jobs to make ends meet.
