Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #97
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, my quote is from the delightful historical romance The Duke’s Accidental Wife, and my quote is from the beginning of the story, when the hero realizes his sister had ulterior motives for inviting him to supper that night…
My Thirsty Thursday Quote:
Familiar sweetness coated his tongue. He froze. Not just any wine – his favorite port. No doubt, then. His sister was absolutely up to her usual tricks. He arched a brow at her. She gave him a bland smile and blinked in wide-eyed innocence. Dread soured Ravenwood’s wine.
He and Miss Ross were opposites in every way. Ravenwood took pride in his lineage, his title, his comportment. In being an exemplary peer of honor and good breeding. Miss Ross, on the other hand had no such compunctions about… anything at all.
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.
Hilarious! She hoped to soften him up with his favorite wine.
Great pick!
Exactly:)
This was fun, Lexxie! Can’t wait to try it again!
YAY LuAnn 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed it! And I hope you’ll continue to participate!
Love this quote!
Klemmer
LOL Sounds like the perfect mix for a lovely romance!! 😀 Stodgy versus well, not stodgy! I can’t wait to see what you think of this one, Lex!
Happy Thursday! *BIG HUGS & LOVE*
It was a fun one, Brandee… I think Ridley manages the stodgy, ornery men quite nicely 😉
