Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #316
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
This is one of my most anticipated releases for 2020, and I’m so excited to have an ARC. Thank you Avon and Edelweiss!
Thank you HQN Books and NetGalley 🙂
I did rather well with new additions this week, and I’m looking forward to reading both of these.
The Sunday Post #256 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
This was the last week of work for me, and I finally got the good news about next year. I’m hired full time at the high school where I’ve been teaching for five years, and this time, my contract won’t be renewable every year. I’m so happy!
The weather has been good, almost too hot for me, which makes it a little hard to sleep well, but during the day, we all appreciate spending time outside a lot.
This Week’s Puppies in Action:
- [22 Jun] Masters & Mercenaries Bundle by Lexi Blake ★★★★
- [24 Jun] Rock F*ck Club by Michelle Mankin ★★★★★
- [29 Jun] The Only Woman in the Room by Marie Benedict ★★★½
- [1 Jul] Dying for Chocolate by Diane Mott Davidson ★★★★
Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Yay for that contract news, and I’m always in for a Susan Mallery read. Her books are always so wonderful. As always, love the doggy pics. Stay cool and sending some lng distance hugs, RO
I’m so relieved, Ro!

Old Follower 🙂
Thank you Jessica! I’m definitely relieved 🙂 have a great week ahead and thanks for stopping by.
The Mallery book looks like the perfect beach read. 🙂 And congrats on the switch to full time without the annual contract renewals! That’s great!
It does, right? Sadly, I might not be going to a beach this summer, but in the shade under a tree in the garden will work well, too 🙂
That is fab news about the long-term contract for work. And, yay for getting two books for review that you really wanted. Enjoy your summer and hopefully the heat will not be too bad.
I’m so happy about that, Sophia! We got some rain this morning, so it’s better right now – hopefully, those showers will keep us a bit cooler than usual in the summer.
Whoo hoo! Congratulations on being hired full time. What wonderful news! How great that your got a copy of an anticipated release too.
Thank you Sam! I’m SO happy.
Congrats on the contract news! Enjoy your break until the new year begins.

It’s been hot here too, yikes! We had some scorching temps this week lol.
Be well- love the pics this week!
Thank you Greg! I’m so happy about it – it will just make investing my time in the school and with colleagues so much nicer, too.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
So happy for the good news! <3 The newest additions to your review copies look great!
Thank you Fanna 🙂 Have a great weeek!
Congratulations on the permanent contract at work ?I hope for that myself, but thankfully I did find out last month that mine has been renewed again. It is funny how as you break up from work, I have just started back at work almost full time. However it will only be for three weeks, as it will then be our summer break too. Take care and happy reading in the coming week. ?
Thanks Jessica!
We actually went back to in person classroom teaching on May 11th – first with half class for four weeks, then with all students until the 26th of June. So we had time to see our students and consolidate some knowledge before the summer vacation.
Good luck with the three weeks you have left 🙂
Thank you ?
Congrats on the work front. I am very sure it is well deserved. I hope you are staying safe.
Thanks Gayathri 🙂 We’re staying mostly at home, so safe it is 🙂 I hope you’re staying safe and healthy, too!
Congrats on the new contract. I wish I could say the same. Stay safe and well.
Thank you Vi!

Huge congratulations! That is a real vote of confidence in your overall performance, Linda:)). I absolutely love the Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles, but haven’t read any of this particular series – I hope you enjoy this latest offering. Have a great week.
Thank you Sarah! I’m so very happy 🙂
I have read most of Ilona Andrews’ books now, and I really love them all – the world building and the character development is what keeps me coming back for more.
Have a great week yourself 🙂
Yes – I have absolutely loved the Innkeeper Chronicles and mean to read more of her work.
YAY for the job news! It’s hot here also this week and less rain than predicted. I’m jealous about the IA book; I don’t have it yet. Enjoy your summer! Stay safe and well!
