Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #273

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

I got The Edge series by Ilona Andrews because Gordon said that series is his favorite… and I haven’t read it yet, so now’s the time! I also got the two last Honey Series books by Kristen Ashley, because they were among the last ones by her that I hadn’t read yet…

The Sunday Post #213 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I left Brandee and Denise in Paris last Sunday late afternoon, to get back home, and to be ready for work on Monday. They had some great days in Paris before they left on Wednesday, but sadly, their trip back home did not go smoothly. They should be back home in Denver now, but they only arrived late last night and had to hang out for two days in Dallas because of the bad weather in Denver.

My week has been really good, some of my stuff for Uni has been wrapped up, and I got amazing feedback from my professor and the teacher who has come to observe my lessons during my teaching.

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Cuddly puppies - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up
I love it when Freddy and Hercules are cuddling!
Hercules posing - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up
Hercules loves to pose when I get my phone out for pictures…
Freddy not posing - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up
Freddy rather moves when I get my phone out – he’s not as keen at having his picture taken…

  1. So glad you ladies had such a great time and OMG! Two days! I hope they stopped by to visit Berls! That is crazy but the weather was insane in the middle of the country. Glad they are home safely.
So very proud of you! You are doing so awesome with all your Uni Stuff! You are just awesome!

Miss you so very much! I hope you have a fantastic week, Lexxie! HappyReading! xoxox

Yay for the new reads! Nothing’s better than new signed books! Lol! I hope you will enjoy all of your newly acquired reads!

Bummer about Brandee and Denise getting stuck for two days! That’s crazy! But happy to hear that they made it back home now.

Hope you have a great week ahead!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

Wish I had of known Brandee was stuck here! I would have offered to pick them up to at least get them out of the airport! Glad they are home now though! I liked the Edge books. Not as well as Kate Daniels, but they were good. Why did Gordon say they were his favorite?

    • I believe they stayed with Brandee’s MIL, Tanya. And I know they’re happy to finally get back home after two weeks of traveling!
I didn’t hear why he said they were his favorite, but he said it to one of the readers who got her books signed… their line was really busy, and so, I was busy, too. No time to try to listen in on everything they said 😀

  4. Sophia Rose

I’ve read two of the Edge series and liked them. I still need to finish the last two. Neat that you got to meet them.
Lots of other good books in your haul, too.
I can commiserate with Brandee and Denise b/c I spent an extra day in Dallas due to the weather shutting down my airport once. Glad you all had a good visit.
Yay for good report from uni and the observation teacher.
    Cute Hercules and Freddy.

    Have a great week, Lexxie!

  5. I’m so happy to see The Edge series on your bought list. I hope you enjoy. That was my taste of the Andrews team. It’s different from Kate. It does pop into her Innkeeper Series. Some of the characters in the Edge hop over, but if you haven’t read on or the other you won’t notice though I almost missed it. ^_^ It was subtle. Hope you enjoy all the books you got. Love the pups. Have a great weekend!

  6. There was a crazy blizzard in CO this week so I’m sure that snarled their travel. Glad they made it home safe though. Enjoy your new books-I am curious to hear your thoughts on the new Sawyer Bennett series!

  7. Beware Of The Reader

Lexxie I still can’t believe that I missed you at RARE! I hope Brandee and Denise could sleep at a hotel in Dallas and not in the airport!

  8. Congrats on your Uni feedback! Good for you. 🙂

Sorry to hear about Brandee and Denise’s travel woes. Hope they got home with no further trouble.

  9. I loved the Edge series. It has a connection to the Innkeeper series. What an amazing experience. You showed great restraint on the book purchases.

While it is hard to be home after such a great trip, it sounds like you handled everything like a pro. Have a wonderful week with your new reads!

Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post

    • I gathered when reading the Innkeeper books that there was a connection to The Edge. I can’t wait to get started.
I had to be careful with my book purchases for two reasons… my shelves are almost completely full, and I had to be able to lift my suitcase to get on and off the train 😀

  10. The boys look adorable. I love when you share pictures. And I’ve been hearing a lot about RARE Paris. How wonderful that you could go. And sorry to hear about the travel problems for Brandy and Denise.

  11. Yay! I’m glad to hear your teaching lessons are going so great! You got a ton of reading goodies! I haven’t read anything by J.A. Huss, but have heard her books are really good. I love Kristin Ashley, but haven’t read her Honey Series! I like Sawyer Bennett and Ann Aguirre, and will have to check out those books for sure! I’m glad Brandee finally made it back home; it’s no fun being stranded! Have a great week Lexxie 🙂

    Lindy@ A Bookish Escape

    • I’m very happy about that, too, Lindy!
If you haven’t read any JA Huss, I really think you should! Most of her books are lendable, so let me know if you want to read her first Rook and Ronin book, Tragic. That’s the series that got me hooked on her.
I didn’t love the first Honey book, but the two next blew my socks off!!
      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

That Codename Genesis looks pretty good, and glad you had fun in Paris! So sorry that Brandee and Denise got caught up in the bad weather that happened and surprised everyone, but glad they made it home safely. Always love to see pics of your puppies. Hugs and hope you have a great week!

Not heard of that Ilona Andrews series but I like the looks of it! Hope you enjoy it and the other books!

    Have a great week!

  14. I enjoyed the first two books in the Edge series! Haven’t read the last two yet… Interestingly, if you’ve read their Innkeeper series, some Edge characters appear in book 2/3. 🙂 Hope you enjoy.

Congrats on your positive feedback at Uni. As always, I love your dog pictures. I bought Eleanor and Gray yesterday and I’m looking forward to it. Have a good week!

  16. Jen

I bought and listened to The Edge series a few years ago and really enjoyed. It’s like an urban fantasy romance (each book has a separate h/h romance, but still overarching storyline). Have you tried Innkeeper Chronicles? The series is a very loosely based spinoff from the Edge. I listened to Innkeeper first and then Edge and was surprised at the connections! I hope you enjoy.

  17. Olivia-Savannah

Yay for having enjoyed the trip to Paris but it is a shame that they had to hang around when they wanted to go home because of the weather! Also, loving how much Illona Andrews you got. Hope you enjoy reading them all 🙂
