Review: Love and Other Words – Christina Lauren

Review: Love and Other Words – Christina Lauren

Love and Other Words is one of the most poignantly beautiful stories I have ever read! My heart is still reeling, and I want to both laugh and cry at the same time. Story: Love and Other Words switches between Macy’s childhood and the present, slowly unraveling all her secret thoughts, fears, loves, hopes, and heartaches. Christina Lauren’s stories just get better and stronger with each book, and I can hardly even write because my feelings are all over the place. The character development in Love and Other Words is nothing short of amazing. And the friendship between Elliot and Macy when they were children and teens is beautiful. There were just so many little details about them both that […]

Review: Pretty as a Peach – Juliette Poe

Review: Pretty as a Peach – Juliette Poe

Pretty as a Peach is the fourth book in the Sex and Sweet Tea series, but the first I have read. And because I wanted more – I went one-clicking my way through the first three books 😉 Story: Pretty as a Peach was such a cute romance, I was swooning as I read about Colt and Darby. Their trials and tribulations made me love them so much – even when Colt was acting like a dolt in the beginning. Two neighboring farms, where Colt was struggling to make ends meet. And Darby fleeing a horrible marriage, with her little daughter in tow. Darby’s idea of how to work a farm was also completely opposite from Colt’s, and that sure […]

Review: Fast Burn – Lori Foster

Review: Fast Burn – Lori Foster

Fast Burn was an utterly satisfying end to the Body Armor series, and I absolutely loved Brand and Sahara. Story: Fast Burn had everything I love in a romantic suspense story! There was heat, of course. But there was also a lot of chemistry. And quite a bit of reluctance. Brand didn’t want to work for Sahara, he wanted to date her. And Sahara wanted Brand any way she could get him – and she really wanted him for Body Armor. As they are both very strong characters, that made for some great dialogues with a repartee that made me both laugh and smile at times. The suspense was palpable, especially because Sahara was kidnapped at the very beginning of […]

Blogtour Review: Helping Her Remember – Kate Carley

Blogtour Review: Helping Her Remember – Kate Carley

I expected to fall head over heels in love with Helping Her Remember – as I’m a huge fan of second chance romances. While I didn’t completely succumb to its charm, I did enjoy this story, the setting, and the characters. Story: Helping Her Remember is Dylan and Kelly’s story, the first book in the Crawford Falls series. And while I enjoyed getting to know both of the main characters and their friends, I wasn’t completely wowed by them. I think it was partly because when Kelly left Dylan behind, she also brought a very big secret with her. I could partly understand her reasons for doing so . I also thought she could have gotten back to her hometown […]

Review: The Heart Between Us – Lindsay Harrel

Review: The Heart Between Us – Lindsay Harrel

The Heart Between Us is a beautiful, beautiful story! Two sisters… lost in their own feelings, in their own fears. Story: The Heart Between Us is a very realistic story, even if not all of us go through a heart transplant, it was easy to identify with both Megan and Crystal. The beginning of their lives was very easy-going, up until the point when Megan was diagnosed with a heart condition. Going from begin best friends, twin sisters who did everything together, they started to grow apart. The growing apart is natural, it seems, as Megan spent her time in hospitals. Because their mom was always hovering, Crystal felt as if she was all alone. At the time of the […]

Review: Sin With Me – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Review: Sin With Me – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Sin With Me is dark, twisted, hot, sinful and fast-paced. Following Maddie and Tyler, each in their own chapters, the story is well done, and filled with both danger and hope. Story: Sin With Me is set in Las Vegas, and follows a young woman, who is a stripper – but not by choice. The other main character, Tyler, is suffering from PTSD, but trying his best to stay afloat. By numbing all his senses. By trying to stay awake so his dreams won’t take him back to places he has no want to revisit. This doesn’t work too well for him, and thanks to a very good friend, he is not able to stay solely in his head. Both […]

Review: Three Breaths – Belle Brooks

Review: Three Breaths – Belle Brooks

Oh my goodness! I don’t even know where to start with my praise for Three Breaths! The suspense is killing me! And I want to know who the Wolf is! Story: This series of mystery and suspense is just so well done! Morgan is still fighting for her life, but barely. Her Husband Reid is almost worse off than she is – with the uncertainty, the fear, and trying to stay strong for their two children. And the way the Wolf is still chasing Morgan, playing with her, toying with her emotions… It is both maddening, scary and incredibly suspenseful. Characters: Morgan is the kidnapped woman. Reid, her husband at home. Wolf, the kidnapper… and he has help. Linda, Morgan’s […]

Review: Undone By You – Kate Meader

Review: Undone By You – Kate Meader

Undone By You shows a different side of the Chicago Rebels, and none of the sisters is the main character here. That role was Cade and Dante’s. And wow, did they play it well! Story: I loved how we got a hockey player tentatively starting something with the Chicago Rebels’ new GM. Their romance was very realistic, especially in light of Cade wanting to stay in the closet – at least for a while longer. Undone By You shows how two quite different men can feel completely unravelled by each other – whiles till playing their cards very close to the vest. Characters: Dante is comfortable in his own skin, openly gay, ever since he stopped playing hockey and started […]

Review: The Lucky Ones – Tiffany Reisz

Review: The Lucky Ones – Tiffany Reisz

The Lucky Ones gave me goosebumps. Both the good kind and the even better kind… Reisz’ writing keeps getting better and better, and this incredibly well-written, character-driven story left me with all the feels. Story: The Lucky Ones starts with a low for Allison, as McQueen leaves her after several years of having her as his secret lover. However, on the same day, she also receives a letter. From someone she used to call her brother. Thirteen years ago. In that letter, she learns that her almost-adoptive father is fatally ill. And she decides to go back to the dragon – the house where she was happy for the first time after her mother’s death. There is so much that […]
