Review: Rock F*ck Club – Michelle Mankin

Review: Rock F*ck Club – Michelle Mankin

Rock F*ck Club is a hot little number, where a woman takes back control and goes on a quest of rock stars to take back power and control. Rock F*ck Club started with Raven seeing something that can’t be unseen – her rockstar boyfriend with another girl. Totally doing it, and then asking her to join in so as to not be a bore. At first, she was devastated, but then she decided that she really should live things up and be less boring. But only on her own terms, not someone else’s. Strong, empowered women are often seen as bullies, sluts, ‘manly’, noisy… Rock F*ck Club managed to take the slut part out of the equation, even as Raven […]

Review: For You – Kristen Ashley

Review: For You – Kristen Ashley

For You is simply excellent – romance, suspense, 2nd chances, friendships, small town – it’s ALL good I have always been a huge fan of second chance romances, and For You delivered a very delicious one! February and Alexander could have had it all. They seemed destined to be together and started dating in high school. Then, something happened, and February broke up with Alexander. She went on a wild streak, and ultimately married another man. After that marriage ended in disaster, February kind of ran away from home and went around the US working in bars. Never getting too close to anyone, until she gets called home to help her brother run the family bar. Once she is home, […]

Review: Breathe – Kristen Ashley

Review: Breathe – Kristen Ashley

Breathe was amazing! I think it’s the Colorado Mountain story that played with my feels the most! I cried. I laughed. And it was righteous! Not only did I stay up until after 3 am to finish Breathe, I had to message Brandee while I was reading because there was so much going on, and I knew she’d know straight away what I was talking about! Good thing we live in different time zones – at least this once it made me happy. For someone who usually rolls her eyes at ‘older’ virgins in her romance novels, I fell hard and quick for Faye! And she may have seemed very shy and reserved on the outside, but on the inside, […]

Review: Lady Luck – Kristen Ashley

Review: Lady Luck – Kristen Ashley

Lady Luck was more tender than the other stories in this series, both Ty and Lexie had been through hell, and it wasn’t over by a long shot. The beginning of Lady Luck showed me straight away that this was going to be a quite unconventional romance! Lexie and Ty were strangers, but somehow, Lexie had been persuaded to pick up Ty when he left prison after several year on the inside where he served time for murder. And she was to drive him wherever he wanted to go. Little did she know that Ty had planned to marry the woman whom he had arranged for to pick him up. And his first stop after prison was Las Vegas. Not […]

Review: Sweet Dreams – Kristen Ashley

Review: Sweet Dreams – Kristen Ashley

Delicious, dangerous, romantic, hot, emotional… I’m pretty sure I could find many more adjectives to describe Sweet Dreams. I don’t even know where to start without squeeing about Sweet Dreams! Lauren was so lost until she arrived in Carnal, and even then, it took her a while to start finding herself again. And Tate… *shakes head*… *sighs*… Tate was definitely something. Book boyfriend deluxe comes to mind as a way to describe him. I loved that both Lauren and Tate were over 40. That they had lived their lives a bit before meeting each other. And that they really didn’t get along when they first met. And there was so much going on in this story, too. Lauren had been […]

Review: The Gamble – Kristen Ashley

Review: The Gamble – Kristen Ashley

Sweet, hot, mysterious… The Gamble brought out all the feels! Great characters, a solid plot, and so much romance. Not sure my The Gamble review will be all that coherent, because I’m still a bundle of feels over Nina and Max! I loved both of them from the very start. The little nicknames, how Max took care of Nina even if he wanted her out of his house at first, and the incredible chemistry between them. I have always enjoyed KA’s stories, but I have to say that this one really had everything going for it. There is a mystery, an annoying father, new friends to meet… Plus, there are some past issues in both Max and Nina’s lives that need […]

Review: Tempting Tempo – Michelle Mankin

Review: Tempting Tempo – Michelle Mankin

Tempting Tempo is a strong, fast-paced story in which Mel needs to reassess her choices, while Sager has to stand strong in the face of adversity. I’m a huge fan of The Tempest series, and I have to say that Sager and Mel’s story just might be my favorite! It deals with some very important subject matters, some that are dear to my heart, and important to talk about. Body image and eating disorders – even when it comes to elite sports people, can be a big problem. And not being able to reign in a diet and have things escalate can happen much faster than most of us on the outside can ever understand. Add in a sexy rocker, […]

Review: Love You So Hard – Tara Lain

Review: Love You So Hard – Tara Lain

Love You So Hard is a cute, short read about Craig and Jessie, and how Craig needed some encouragement to be more confident. Love You So Hard is a short, hot read, and knowing that it started with a photo and a prompt in the Goodreads M/M group makes feel all kind of awe for Ms. Lain here! There was both humour and hotness here, and part of the action was set in Laguna Beach, which makes me wonder if that’s how Love in Laguna started… As the story in Love You So Hard is only 76 pages, there is very little character development, and that’s why I gave it three stars rather than four. It’s still quite a feat […]

Review : Dream Magic – Michelle Mankin

Review : Dream Magic – Michelle Mankin

Dream Magic is the stunning second instalment in Mankin’s Magic series. The paranormal world the story unfolds in is complex, with characters that are multi-faceted and enticing. I loved Strange Magic, and I’m happy to say that Dream Magic is even better! The world was expanded, and all the characters showed other facets of themselves than they did in the first book. With the intricacies of both the universe and the mythology, Mankin managed to bring her characters to the next level, while keeping me on the edge of my seat for the duration of the story at the same time. I loved that the first part of the book included several new to me characters, while those I had […]

Review: Strange Magic – Michelle Mankin

Review: Strange Magic – Michelle Mankin

Strange Magic started out not very magical at all, however, as the story unfolded, magic became strong and ever-present. Mankin really has a way with words, reading her stories always brings me to a magical realm, and that was even more true with Strange Magic. There is mythology, ghosts, greek gods, mystery, music, and a very strong love. Billy was a lost soul, but in the beginning, I thought he was ‘just another rock-star’ – and know that I love stories with musicians! – but there was much more to him than met the eyes. Thyme was a young girl who felt slightly out of place, but still confident in what she was doing and the people she loved and […]
