Review ~ Blood Avenged ~ Gabrielle Bisset

Review ~ Blood Avenged ~ Gabrielle Bisset

I’m a mood reader and I was in the mood for some PNR. Since the box set of books 1-3 in the Sons of Navarus series had been on my ereader for quite some time so I decided to give Blood Avenged a try. While I had some issues with the story, I thought this introductory installment wasn’t too bad and I’ll continue the series. Blood Avenged had a lot of potential. There seemed to be a mythology behind these vampires with their ability, or lack thereof, to sire more vampires and the ruling body that apparently keeps the vampires in line. There was also the blood feud between two vampires in this installment as well as Sasa, her unique abilities […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tyrant ~ T.M. Frazier

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tyrant ~ T.M. Frazier

After finishing Tyrant, again I’m left saying HOLY WOW! There was so much going on here – the action, the revelations…I was RIVETED! I told you so! Bwahahaha! I think you should just get the WHOLE series and binge-read it, like I did 😉  The way Frazier conveyed Doe’s memories as they came back was well done. I felt for the girl she’d been and it made sense she’d “clicked” so easily into the family she chose with King. How did the memories affect you given her circumstances? Oh my gosh! When she slowly remembered things, I died a little. I felt so bad for her – and even for those memories that were good, my heart broke. Doe was […]

Double Review ~ Dissolution & Infraction ~ K.I. Lynn

Double Review ~ Dissolution & Infraction ~ K.I. Lynn

Dissolution was a quick read but well worth the time. This little glimpse inside Nathan’s head – seeing how he felt after what he did to Lila – was enlightening. Understanding dawned over why he felt the need to act the way he did – especially considering how strong his feelings are – but I agreed with what Andrew and Caroline did. It was cowardly no matter the good intentions behind his actions. However, seeing Nathan’s pain and how he reacted at the end, I’m eager to see if he can redeem himself in Lila’s eyes…and mine. Onto Infraction.     Although Infraction didn’t pack quite the punch of Breach, I enjoyed having the front row seat as Nathan and […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Wild Like the Wind ~ Kristen Ashley

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Wild Like the Wind ~ Kristen Ashley

I’d always wanted Keely and Hound’s story and Wild Like the Wind was so well worth the wait! I agree! They both intrigued me – and Keely was always a little bit on the sidelines – present, but not really. And I was so curious about her. Hound seemed very mysterious, too – and he slayed me!   I’d always wanted the story of Black, the fallen Chaos brother who is tattooed on ALL the brothers, and his wife, Keely. I also wanted to story behind Hound’s dedication to Keely. What did you think of all KA shared about them? Oh. My. Gosh! I fell in love with them from the prologue! Because they were both so completely loyal. So […]

New Release Review ~ Soulfire ~ Juliette Cross

New Release Review ~ Soulfire ~ Juliette Cross

The Vampire Blood series kicked off my fangirling for JCross’ writing. That series was unique and refreshing and Soulfire – equally unique and refreshing – served to intensify my affection for JCross’ story telling talent. I didn’t write this review right away because I just didn’t have the time but I have to admit that this story and my feelings about it have only improved up reflection. Soulfire has action, romance, suspense, and a message all wrapped up in a Romeo and Juliet-style love story…only with a better ending. 😉 Highlights: Premise and Execution of Plot A myth about the creation of the Morgons – a hybrid dragon/human species – is how the story begins. I appreciated how JCross used this to […]

Review ~ Found in You ~ Laurelin Paige

Review ~ Found in You ~ Laurelin Paige

I seriously read Found in You with my gut churning, just waiting for that “thing” I knew was going to happen to happen. And when it did… Here’s thing though: I get a little annoyed with characters who cause themselves trouble because they don’t communicate. I understand the why behind it in this case but I still found it annoying. What I found amazing was Ms. Paige’s ability to develop these characters that seemed innocuous on the surface and yet I *KNEW* I couldn’t trust them. Found in You is really all about trust. Hudson and Laynie are still working at building that between them and boy do they have a lot of forces against them…the biggest of those […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review/Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts #157 ~ Rock F*ck Club #3 ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review/Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts #157 ~ Rock F*ck Club #3 ~ Michelle Mankin

Holy Hotness! I do believe Rock F*ck Club #3 is Mankin’s hottest book to date! It had to up the ante to follow up Raven and Lucky’s story and Mankin delivered! Mankin always takes on weighty topics and Rock F*ck Club is no exception. How do you think she did with exploring a woman’s right to explore her sexuality, self-worth, and true friendship? I think she did really well! And that’s mostly because she showed us that it’s still a struggle. I think in many cases, women have to struggle no matter if they are dealing with a man or a woman. I also enjoyed how part of this story was a true eye-opener to Marsha. Who had kind of […]

Review: The Chase – Elle Kennedy

Review: The Chase – Elle Kennedy

The Chase was so good! My emotions were totally involved from the start, and I have to say that Fitz and Summer were the perfect couple. The introvert with the shining star made me all hot and bothered – plus they made me laugh. Story: We got a little glimpse of Summer and Fitz in Kennedy’s last Off Campus novel, and I was so excited for The Chase. My excitement was completely warranted, too, and right now, all I want to do is squee with happiness. I loved this first foray into the new series, because the characters were so refreshing. I loved how Summer tried to better herself. After struggling with dyslexia her whole life, coming to a new […]

Release Day Chat Review ~ Children of the Forgotten Gods ~ Kennedy Daly #2018NewRelease #COYER

Release Day Chat Review ~ Children of the Forgotten Gods ~ Kennedy Daly #2018NewRelease #COYER

Thank you so much for turning me onto this book, wifey! It was a fantastic read! It was action-packed with a compelling story and engaging characters. Gah! I FLOVED it! What I need to know is: When is the next one coming?!? Okay, on to the chat… I was hooked from the beginning, and I know you were as well. What was it that drew you straight into this story? I think I was initially drawn in with the action…Daly had me curious from the get-go about Damien. But the characters are what, or rather who, really drew me in. I liked how close-knit they were and I was intrigued with their abilities, their dynamics, and their responsibilities to their […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #2 ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #2 ~ Michelle Mankin

Since both Lexxie and I are fans of #girlpower we figured MMankin’s Rock F*ck Club #2 was a great way to kick off our joint venture. We hope y’all enjoy our chat! And keep an eye on our Facebook page today…there might be a giveaway! 😉 B: What did you think about how MMankin presented Rock F*ck Club #2? The end-of-season perspective? The challenges Lucky and Raven were facing and how they were dealing with them? L: I really found the after-filming to be very interesting. Especially because so much had changed between Lucky and Raven. And her outlook on life and relationships had done a full 180. It was also good to see that while she was worried about […]
