Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Surrender to Me ~ Nina West #seriesinamonth

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Surrender to Me ~ Nina West #seriesinamonth

Holy wow, wifey! Surrender to Me was quite the conclusion for Henry and Abbi. I’ve loved every moment despite some heartache but the finale was perfect. Yeah, this was definitely an ending that was made for Abbi and Henry! And even with that, I wouldn’t have minded more books about them 😉   I can’t even verbalize how proud I was of Abbi for finally sticking up for herself with her mother. That woman was so manipulative! She did eventually do some growing of her own but I applauded Abbi for respectfully putting her mom in her place. What were your feelings? Ugh! I actually hated Abbi’s mom in this one. I can’t believe the lengths she went to in […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Teach Me ~ Nina West #seriesinamonth

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Teach Me ~ Nina West #seriesinamonth

I have to admit that I hated leaving Alaska in this installment but I appreciated what being in Pennsylvania did for Abbi and Henry. I’m so in love with their story! Yeah, me, too! I loved the way they were kind of enclosed in Alaska, but with scrutinizing eyes everywhere. Being in Pennsylvania changed a lot of things, and it showed us just how much Henry cares.   The reason for Abbi’s need to go home – her dad’s accident – and how Henry dealt with it had me vacillating between fear and hope. Fear and hope both for Abbi’s dad and for her relationship with Henry. I fell for Henry a little bit more due to his actions. How […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Bossy Brothers: Tony – J.A. Huss

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Bossy Brothers: Tony – J.A. Huss

Tony blew my mind! I loved how things really weren’t what they seemed, and also the fact that we were back in Fort Collins with characters from prior Huss stories in the background. I, too, loved how Huss took us in a direction we weren’t anticipating (although, is that really unexpected with her?!? LOL) and it was PERFECT. And being back in FoCo was like coming home. 😉 I loved that Tony could surprise me and that this book took a direction that was not exactly unexpected, but rather unconventional. What is your first impression, Wifey? I was definitely surprised by the direction this story went but thrilled at the same time. In the EOBS, Huss said that she took […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Break Me ~ Nina West #seriesinamonth

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Break Me ~ Nina West #seriesinamonth

Break Me in some ways, well, broke me. Not to worry though. NWest repaired the damage. LOL Ha! Nice pun, wifey 🙂 Okay, I’m going to start with the shit-storm swirling around Henry. There’s the stress of the hotel opening and having to schmooze people…namely women. Then there’s his dad and asshole brother arriving and said brother trying to stir up trouble. And then there’s the matter of allegations made by Henry’s former assistant. This all causes problems for Abbi and Henry’s fledgling romance. I know that Henry tried to explain things to Abbi, to prepare her for the things she might see and/or hear, but I felt like he should have known better. Yes, he’s used to being with […]

Audio Review ~ The Scribe ~ Elizabeth Hunter

Audio Review ~ The Scribe ~ Elizabeth Hunter

How much did I love The Scribe? Let me count the ways. LOL I’ve been intending to read EHunter since 2013 when I challenged myself to read the attending authors of TFEIC. (that’s The First Ever Indie Conference) Now, I’m mentally smacking myself for having waited so long. The Scribe was so compelling and the fact Zachary Webber narrated it only made the story that much richer. Ava is such an interesting character. When we meet her she’s in a session with a psychiatrist because she’s looking for answers to why she has always felt different. The psychiatrist sends her to Istanbul where he believes there is someone who can help her. Once there, something is set into motion that […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #6 ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #6 ~ Michelle Mankin

What a wonderful way to wrap-up this unique series. Rock F*ck Club is all about empowering women with the ability to embrace their sexuality without fear of judgement. Each woman in the series went about their journey in different ways but all managed to find real love despite trials and tribulations along the way. This final story once again follows Josephine and Gale (my favorite couple in the series!) as they navigate past and present obstacles on their way to a future together. Jo and Gale are my favorite couple in the series, too, and I loved to see more of them here. I think this ending truly made sense, and I’m so happy Mankin went there.   I have […]

Bookworm Bites ~ Masters & Mercenaries #1-3 ~ Lexi Blake

Bookworm Bites ~ Masters & Mercenaries #1-3 ~ Lexi Blake

The Dom Who Loved Me was a wild ride of an introduction to this series. LBlake deftly set up the cast of characters who inhabit this world while also delivering a fast-paced, suspenseful story and romance. Grace was a likeable character who essentially lived for her job after having lost her husband. Unfortunately, or fortunately 😉 her boss might be into some shady dealings that require McKay-Taggert investigating. Enter Sean Taggert. While Sean may be undercover, his developing feelings for Grace are not. And there’s no better setup for an explosive romance than danger. Then throw in some BDSM and HOT DAMN! 😀 I really enjoyed Grace and Sean as characters. They both experienced emotional growth over the course of […]

Review: The Player Next Door – K.A. Tucker

Review: The Player Next Door – K.A. Tucker

Second chance at love is one of my favorite romance tropes, and The Player Next Door depicted a beautiful story between two people who had been apart for 13 years, and who still had obstacles in their path. The Player Next Door was a fun, cute, hot and flirty story, and I loved Scarlet and Shane from the beginning. I also loved Scarlet’s friends, Justine and Becca, they brought both comic relief and friendship to the table, and they were definitely there for Scarlet. At first, Scarlet was angry at seeing Shane again, and she was sure there was no way she could ever trust him again. However, he was very good at flirting, and being a good guy, now […]

Audio Review ~ The Rogue Not Taken ~ Sarah MacLean, Justine Eyre

Audio Review ~ The Rogue Not Taken ~ Sarah MacLean, Justine Eyre

The Rogue Not Taken was in my introduction to both SMacLean and JEyre and the meeting was a pure delight! SMacLean crafted a story that was riveting, humorous, exciting, heartbreaking and heartwarming while JEyre brought the characters to life. I’m eager to continue this series in audio. Highlights Plot I really enjoyed the circumstances under which Sophie and Eversley meet. SMacLean employed both humor and heartbreak in their meeting and in their subsequent journey together. There was also quite a bit of suspense due to the fact that Sophie was gallivanting around England unchaperoned. All these elements were well balanced and made for an exciting story as both Sophie and Eversley worked towards what they wanted in life – to […]

Review : The Boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

Review : The Boyfriend Project – Farrah Rochon

The Boyfriend Project is one of the most heartfelt, real, most adorable romances I have ever read! The Boyfriend Project was my first novel by Ms. Rochon, and I’m now a huge fan of hers. This novel is one of my top five favorites in 2020, both because it’s very well written, and because the female friendships started because of a very unfortunate situation for three women. Samiah working in a male-dominated universe also made her so strong, not because she wanted to be strong, but she had to be strong to succeed. In comes Daniel, a new colleague with a big secret, which is when The Boyfriend Project took on a romantic aspect as well. Even if both Samiah and […]
