Weekend Wrap-up #279 – Spring Finally Arrived

Posted 25 May, 2019 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 28 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #279

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

Sapphire Flames cover - (un)Coventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up

Thank you so much Avon and Edelweiss! I just can’t wait to get started with this one 🙂

En Man Som Heter Ove cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up

This is the next buddy-read in an online bookclub I’m a part of. And since I know how to read in Swedish, I wanted to read it in its original beauty 🙂

Work in Progress cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upI won this on Facebook from BJ Harvey, and I’m really happy to have it. I just started reading, and so far, it’s good.

The Sunday Post #229 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Spring finally arrived this week, and most of our roses are in bloom :

Roses in bloom 🙂

It has been another busy week, though, with meetings, and last classes at Uni before we have written exams next week, and oral exams the week after. I can do this!

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Lazy Hercules - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up
Hercules was feeling a bit lazy 🙂
Lazy Freddy - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up
Freddy was lazy too, and he also kept my laptop hostage 😉

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

    • Well, there would be some differences, I’m sure, as some expressions and idioms just can’t be translated… Apart from that, to me, the difference would be what is ‘lost’ in translation – not anything else 🙂

  1. Enjoy your haul, your spring and your adorable dogs! Hercules! What a great name for a mighty little dog! Thanks for stopping by my stack.

  2. Beware Of The Reader

You know how to read in Swedish Lexxie??? Wow I am impressed!

  3. Good luck w/ exams Lexxie, and have a super weekend! Glad the roses are out! 🙂 It’s finally nice around here too. Finally!!

  4. Good luck with the final stretch! You roses are gorgeous. I read one book by Backman, and it was wonderful. I forgot his books are translated, but am curious how much gets lost in translation.

Your roses are soo beautiful! Good luck with all your exams this week and next!! I honestly don’t miss that at all! Have a great week!!

Those flowers are so beautiful and your pups as well. And thanks for linking to my post!

  7. Your roses are fabulous! My echiums have just started flowering – I need to get some pics of these, too… I hope the final flurry before you break up isn’t going to be too exhausting – I have all that to come at the end of June/July…

  8. My daughter has final exams soon too. But for high school not UNI. I am jealous of your roses. I tried growing rose bushes once and they didn’t survive. Have a great week.

  9. Oh, Lexxie your roses look beautiful. Do any of them smell? I’ve got a beautiful yellow rose in my garden from the previous owners that’s still going strong, despite my lack of green fingers, that’s got an exquisite fragrance.

I hope you have a great week, in spite of the upcoming exams. x

  10. Beautiful roses. I miss mine from my old house. Hang in there for exams. And looks like the boys have the right idea. LOL

  11. Oh my goodness your roses are absolutely beautiful. My dad just decided to plant some; however, the weather has been rough here (102 degrees) so it’s been an uphill battle with the heat.

  12. I’d be curious to see what you think of the comparison between the original and translation. I loved A Man Called Ove.
I was tempted to grab Sapphire Flames, but I’ve only read the first book in the series.

Have a great reading week, and enjoy that spring weather.

  13. Jen

I can’t wait to read Sapphire Flames, but I’ll have to because I”m really behind on my review reads. I’m trying to make sure I don’t see any spoilers.
