So many of the books we read have food or drinks in them, some we’d love to try, and others we’d never ever want to taste… and we thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab our logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to us in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. My quote this week is from JA Huss’ (writing as KC Cross) Booty Hunter:

“Are you ready to order?”

I look up and find a waitress holding a tablet. She’s got bright purple hair and her body is covered in metallic scales.

“Umm,” I say, then point to the menu. “I’ll have this?” I say, showing her the menu item.

Serpint laughs a little.

“What?” I ask.

“That’s what the stupid bot told you to get.”

“Well, is it bad?”

“No,” he says, taking my menu and handing it to the waitress. “I’ll have the same.”

“Be right up,” the waitress says. Then leaves.

…

Luckily a tray bot appears with our food and its articulated grippy appendages place our plates on the table.

“Pancakes,” I say, laughing. “They’re pancakes.”

Serpint thanks the bot, then smiles at me. “Eat up, princess. You’re gonna need your energy once you meet my brothers.”
