Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #251
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley!
The Sunday Post #201 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I have been extremely busy once more, and I’ve also not been feeling well. And I feel really bad about not being around the blog much. A HUGE thank you to my darling blogger-wife, Brandee, for keeping the blog afloat these days. And a HUGE thank you to all of you who still come here to visit and comment – even if only Brandee is doing any blog-hopping lately.
In other news, I scored my ticket for Book Bonanza 2019, and am going to Dallas in August next year. I have booked my hotel room and my flights, and I’m really excited! I’ll be seeing some bloggers I really, really love there, like Kristin from Addicted to HEA, Kimberly from Caffeinated Reviewer, Berls from Because Reading, Felicia from Geeky Blogger and Anne from Books of My Heart. I can’t wait! Of course, I’m also excited about the amazing author line-up 😉 But bloggers!!!

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Oh no! Sorry to hear you’re sick! That’s never fun! Book Bonanza…I haven’t heard of that one! I need to figure out what my 2019 book adventure will be! Every year I “try” to go somewhere where there’s a large gathering of authors. Though I always end up failing in trying to find a roommate. My year long search for one for The Origin Event was a bust. I’ve tried including the event itself in my tweets to see if they do something to help you find a roommate, but I guess no one monitors the account. Oh well.
But yay for new books! All totally new to me ones too! I hope you enjoy them all!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
You should check out the Facebook Group for Book Bonanza, Jessica. There will be a lot of romance authors, and it was a great event this year. Here’s the link for you : https://www.facebook.com/groups/bookbonanza18/
Have a great weekend!
I hope you’re feeling better soon Lexxie! Have a wonderful week of reading.
Thanks, Chrissi 🙂
Oh, that’s rough – I hope you feel better soon. In The Blink of an Eye has my attention, it sounds intriguing. I’ll be looking for that one on NetGalley (or on publication)
Your pups look so adorable. My Sheltie is never, every that still. She’s a whirlwind except when asleep and even then her legs keep moving lol
Thanks, Marsha!
It does sound good – and I couldn’t resist it when I received an invite to get it 🙂
Thank you 🙂 They aren’t always still like that, but when I try to take pictures while they’re playing, I only get a blur 😀

You have been so busy and I am sorry you are not feeling well. I am so sad that I wont be able to go to Texas with you all. I am so sad 🙁 I hope you all have fun and remember to think of me! lol
Love those puppies!!!
Have a great week, Lexxie! Miss you!
Thank you Michelle 🙂 I really hope I’ll get the swing of this soon!
I’m also very sad you won’t be able to make it to Texas next summer – I REALLY miss you! And of course we’ll think of you 🙂
Have a great week yourself, my friend *hugs*
Well I am also excited about Book Bonanza. There are a few authors I’ve been trying to meet who will be there but for me its about the bloggers. I made it to RT and DragonCon last year and just Apollycon this year. Apollycon really had a lot of authors I wanted to meet and also Andi Arndt (narrator) was there. So next year I’m hoping to go more. I really loved DragonCon and it is close. I’m considering Emerald City ComicCon because there are authors who go there who don’t seem to go east as much/often. Also I’m wondering about BEA as it is close and I love to go to NYC but what is the format of the event?
I’m so happy you’ve decided to come, Anne! It’s going to be a lot of fun!
I’ve been to BEA twice, once in Chicago, and once in NYC. It’s a different kind of event, though. As it’s during the day, only (unless you’re one of the lucky people who gets invited to publisher’s parties). Also, it’s much more geared towards publishers, librarians and bookish professionals. There are a lot of bloggers there, but it’s a more professional expo.
RT is geared towards readers, and so is Book Bonanza. Also, the fact that we can stay in the same hotel where the convention takes place makes it even more fun – and it’s quite possible to share a drink with a favorite author at the bar 🙂
Oh no… I hope you’re feeling better soon. I know the feeling. Don’t feel bad about not being able to blog much or bloghop. Brandee is doing a great job! 😀
Thank you Stephanie!
I know Brandee is doing a great job – but I don’t want her to have all the pressure 🙂 I want to be a good blogger-wife, too 😉
Thanks for stopping by!
Feel better! This week has not been my best, either; oral surgery. Sigh.
I also got a copy of In the Blink of an Eye…an unexpected treat! Enjoy your week and your books…and thanks for sharing.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Thanks Laurel-Rain! I hope you’ll feel better, too. Oral surgery is NO fun.
That’s fun, I hope we’ll both enjoy it 🙂
Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well! Hope you get to feeling better this week! 🙂
Thanks, Tonyalee 🙂 I hope so, too! I need to get on top of things again.
Hope you feel better. As always I love the dogs. ^_^ Thank’s for sharing them.
Have fun at Book Bonanza 2019.
Thanks Angela 🙂
And Book Bonanza is definitely going to be fun. I can’t wait to see some of my favorite bloggers again in real life 🙂
Good luck being a student and a teacher. I remember how difficult it can be!
Thank you Samantha. I am so tired it’s not even funny! And really, pedagogically speaking, some of our professors are not up to the task… which I find so very ironic.
Yeah bloggers are better than authors. 🙂 KIDDING. Although… we are lol. Seriously though, congrats for attending Book Bonanza next year! Sounds fun. And Hercules/ Freddy look like they are best buds now- that’s so cool they get along so well.
Hope your weekend is nice, Lexxie (and Brandee too)!
Bloggers are the BEST! And since we chant online every week, it’s so much fun to meet up in person and chat about books, books, books 😀
Hercules and Freddy do get along well – I just wish Hercules would calm down a bit – he’s still a very excited puppy 😀
Hope you feel better soon, Lexxie. Glad Brandee could tag team for you. Fun to see her face around here, too.
Love the puppy snuggles!
Yay for having your trip to the book con set up and looks fun with lots of familiar faces, too.
Thanks Sophia 🙂 I hope so too. And I’m so grateful for Brandee – she’s the best <3
I can hardly wait for Book Bonanza, it's going to be so much fun 🙂
Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. Feel better soon! And idk what Book Bonanza is, but it sounds fun!
Thanks Kristen 🙂
Book Bonanza is a book convention, and Colleen Hoover is the author behind it. The proceeds go to a charity, and there are lots and lots of (mostly) romance authors who attend. I went this year, and I loved it. Of course, I’m excited about many of the authors, but meeting up with bloggers is the highlight for me 😀

Lexxie I wish I lived in the US just for the sole purpose of going to more bookish events, meeting more Authors and bloggers. How very exciting!!!
As usual lovely furbaby pics ?
Angelica @ Paperback Princess.
I live in Europe, but I still try to go to some events in the US. I’m very lucky I have the means to travel, I know 🙂 I hope you’ll be able to go to a bookish event where you can meet both bloggers / readers and authors you’re excited about, too!
Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. I hope you are back to 100% soon. That’s awesome that you got a ticket to Book Bonanza. It’s been so long since I have been to a book con. -sigh–What a great thing to look forward to.
Thanks Sam 🙂 I hope I will, too!!
I know – and I need that bright light at the end of the tunnel right now 😉

Bwahaha I got the new Rachel Caine from my library. Read it in 3 days .. it’s an achievement
I’m sorry to hear you’re sick. I hope you feel better soon. I don’t think I heard of Book Bonanza before, but an event with bloggers, books and writers is always amazing. I hope you have tons of fun.
Love all the dog fluffiness. <3
Happy readings! 😉

I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well. It can really be a downer. Yep, it will be fun to meet some authors, but honestly romance isn’t my favorite genre and I have only read a handful of the authors listed. I am going to see my bloggy friends and float on the lazy river!
I am so jealous that you are gonna meet all these amazing bloggers, but have fun. Hope your course is keeping you occupied and you feel better soon.
I saw your post about Book Bonanza and being in the Dallas area I was thinking about it, but there are so many cons in 2019 that I want to go to I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to go to most! You would think this would be top of the list since it is so close, but deciding has been hard! Sorry you haven’t been feeling well. Hope next week has you back at it again!
Book Bananza sounds fun. I’ve always dreamed of attending an event like it and meeting blogging friends but nothing is ever close enough for me to afford to go. Maybe someday. I hope you feel better soon. And the boys look adorable:)
I haven;t heard of Book Bonanza, sounds fun. 🙂
I hope you feel better this week!
Your dogs are adorable!
My son and I have been sick the last few days, so I feel your pain. We’re just trying not to spread it to everyone else. I think we’re at the end of it, so hopefully we’ll be fully recovered soon.
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
Book Bonanza sounds amazing! I hope to be able to attend something like that too someday!
Sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well. Not feeling well and having to do soooo much is just the worst.
I hope you feel better soon!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well. I hope this week finds you feeling better.
One of these days I will *finally* read something by T.M. Frazier. I even own several by her but it just hasn’t happened yet.
Hooray for getting your tickets to Book Bonanza. I love having something like that to look forward to.
Hope you’re feeling back to normal soon! I hadn’t heard of Book Bonanza, so I’ll have to check that out. I’ve been doing more writing conferences, though, so my budget is going to that lately—but maybe …
I need to check out book conventions. I’ve never been to one and they sound like so much fun! I know it’s next year but I hope you have fun!
They are SO much fun, Nicci! And you should definitely check them out – and if you have a chance, just go 🙂 I love meeting my fellow bloggers at conventions. Especially because most of my RL friends here at home aren’t big readers 🙂
Well, I’ve been a slacker at commenting here, now haven’t I? I actually saw a tweet about a giveaway we were doing and I was like “What?” Hahahahahaha
FYI, I have Perversion too. 😉 I know…you’re shocked, right? You’ve turned me into a TM Frazier fanatic!
Well, I just wanted to make sure I commented here. I’ll do better, wifey, I promise. *smooches*
