Review: Inferno (Chronicles of Nick #4) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Inferno (Chronicles of Nick #4) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Inferno is the fourth book in the Chronicles of Nick series, and it brought the whole story back on track for me. I wasn’t all that happy with Infamous, because that felt too much like a filler than an actual novel to me. With Inferno, though, my love for Nick and the whole Dark Hunter world made sense again, even if I’m still not completely happy with the time-travel aspect of the story. Yes, yes, I know, it’s fiction, and time travel cannot even happen in the real world. But still, most stories that deal with time travel follow some time/space continuum rules, that are not followed in the Chronicles of Nick, and it confuses me! Subscribe to Blog via […]

Review: All He Ever Needed (The Kowalskis #4) – Shannon Stacey

Review: All He Ever Needed (The Kowalskis #4) – Shannon Stacey

All He Ever Needed is book four in the Kowalski Family series, but we’re with the cousins of the characters from the first three books. Mitch is the town’s golden boy, and boy, do I understand why! Mitch is back in town to help out at the lodge while his younger brother, Josh, heals his broken leg. On his way to the lodge, Mitch stops at the diner, surprised to see it up and running – with a new name to boot. When he lays his eyes on Paige, he appreciates the sight of a beautiful woman, and he quickly decides that she will be his next fling – six weeks is more than enough for him to work with […]

Review: Twice Tempted (Night Prince #2) – Jeaniene Frost

Review: Twice Tempted (Night Prince #2) – Jeaniene Frost

Twice Tempted is book #2 in the Night Prince series, and it continues showing how complex Vlad is, and what Leila needs to be happy living in his castle. I love how controlling Vlad has always seemed to me, yet with Leila there is something more soft and caring about him. But there are some concessions he won’t make though – saying ‘I love you’ is one of them. Showing the difference between Leila and Vlad based on their life experience, and Leila doesn’t have her powers anymore at the beginning of Twice Tempted, and it seems to her that since she lost her powers, Vlad has lost interest in her. She is sad, and doesn’t know what to do […]

Review: Impulse (Mageri #3) – Dannika Dark

Review: Impulse (Mageri #3) – Dannika Dark

Impulse is a very apt name for the third book in the Mageri series! We get to know more about Silver, her birth, her childhood, and why she is sometimes not doing what her impulse is telling her to do! We also get to know a lot more about Justus and his own brand of impulse control. It was amazing to get more back-story on Justus, it explains so much about the way he treats Silver, and also the way he treats the women he’s with. There is also a lot of action in Impulse, both with fights and with the budding romantic relationship between Logan and Silver. I sure have a soft spot for Logan! I know I would […]

Review: Lover at Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood #11) – J. R. Ward

Review: Lover at Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood #11) – J. R. Ward

Lover at Last is the tale of Blay and Qhuinn, who have been friends since childhood. When they went to their transitions at the same time, and Qhuinn was disowned by his family, Blay was the one who was there for him. Their relationship is pretty problematic at the beginning of the story, as Blay is seeing Qhuinn’s cousin, Saxon, and Qhuinn has helped Layla through her first needing. The brooding friends are both jealous, but they are unable to talk about their feelings. Blay thinks Qhuinn is a lost cause, especially now that the Chosen has been with him. Qhuinn is sure that Blay will stay with Saxon forever, and that there is no more chances for him and […]

Review: The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3) – Richelle Mead

Review: The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3) – Richelle Mead

Oh, Adrian, how you grew in The Indigo Spell, I start to understand those who loved you dearly in Vampire Academy better and better with each Bloodlines book! Sydney also made some changes in The Indigo Spell, she understood more about the Alchemists, and also more about her own powers. It was really wonderful to read about the new adventures our merry little gang of vampires, dhampirs and alchemists went through. Both Sydney and Adrian continued to grow, as they had started to already in The Golden Lily. Review: House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires #7) – Chloe Neill

House Rules picks up soon after the ending of Biting Cold. The pacing is fast and furious, and Merit has to fight practically on all sides in this one. Review: Boundless (Unearthly #3) – Cynthia Hand

Review: Boundless (Unearthly #3) – Cynthia Hand

Boundless is kind of without bounds, and in some ways it could have been better if it had some boundaries. Clara, Christian and Angela leave for Standford at the very beginning of Boundless, and the readers follow them through information as they arrive. The first night, they are taken out of their rooms by the older students for a run around campus in the dark, and Clara gets to know one of Angela’s roommates, as well as the PHE who’s part of her dorm. She also manages to use just a tiny bit of glory to heal a girl’s broken ankle – without anybody noticing that something is up. Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe […]

Review: Radiant (Unearthly #2.5) – Cynthia Hand

Review: Radiant (Unearthly #2.5) – Cynthia Hand

Radiant is a quick novella in the Unearthly series. Clara and Angela are in Rome for the summer, visiting with Angela’s family. And Phen – the mysterious guy who taught Angela all she knows about angels and nephilims – suddenly shows up in the metro and draws Angela to him once more. Radiant is written in dual point of view; one chapter from Angela’s POV, the next from Clara’s. And it was really good to learn more about Angela by literally being inside of her head for a while. Angela seemed very mysterious to me in the prior books in the series, and to understand her better will be helpful for me personally. I believe that their purpose is dual, […]

Review: Hopeless – Colleen Hoover

Review: Hopeless – Colleen Hoover

Hopeless is as far from hopeless as it could possibly be! Rather courageous, strong, stubborn, beautiful and full of hope!
