Review: Mr. Perfect – J.A. Huss

Review: Mr. Perfect – J.A. Huss

Mr. Perfect didn’t really work for me… I felt like it took far too long for the characters to let loose and help me get to know them. I never thought I’d have as much trouble with a Huss story as I had with Mr. Perfect to be frank. I had such trouble getting into the story, and I found it very difficult to get to know and connect with the main characters. I am not a huge fan of office romances, and this story started out not exactly like an office romance, but rather like an office sexcapade, where Mac held all the power, and Ellie just ended up letting him have his way. That was both a bit […]

Review: Rock – J.A. Huss

Review: Rock – J.A. Huss

My mind is blown! Completely, utterly blown. Rock is even more twisted than Huss’ other stories, and I was riveted to my kindle today, unable to stop reading until I got to the bottom of all the mysteries. Huss definitely blew me away with this story! Until the very end, I had no idea what was going on, or what would happen next, and I was just as anxious as Rock was to figure things out. There was so much heartache and darkness, but at the same time, RK was so driven. He was filled with red-hot anger at the beginning, and he really didn’t understand what was going on. And I didn’t either. However, I was immediately drawn into […]

Review: Happily Ever After – J.A Huss

Review: Happily Ever After – J.A Huss

Fucking Huss! I cried so many happy tears during this novella! It was like coming home! Happily Ever After was like I had never left Rook & Ronin, Ford and Ashleigh, Spencer and Ronnie behind, reading other stories. And kids growing up too fast hit me in the chest – that is SO true. And I wish this novella was a boxed set of several full novels – I didn’t want to leave again. My Happily Ever After review: Re-visiting with the Rook and Ronin gang in Happily Ever After was like hanging out with really good friends I hadn’t had a chance to see for a while. And I loved how each of the couples shared some intimate Christmas […]

Review: Clutch – J.A. Huss

Review: Clutch – J.A. Huss

Junco is brilliant! And Clutch is so well done! Aliens, clones, war, fights, doubts, lies, amazing characters, it’s all there! My Clutch review: Clutch is really all I could wish for in a sci-fi novel. The world is slowly shown to me, Junco is a great character, even if both she and I were quite confused at the beginning of the story. Tiers intrigued me form the beginning, and I really enjoyed the fact that he truly let Junco have choices – it’s not like that really happened very often where she was concerned. Between being raised both as a killer and an acrobat on a horse, it took a while for me to reconcile both parts of her personality. […]

Review: Home – J.A. Huss

Review: Home – J.A. Huss

Everything comes together perfectly in Home – in the very end! Both Vaughn and Grace still have some heartache to go through first, but they both step up to show how strong they are both as individual and as a couple! My Home review: Home makes the Social Media serial stay a roller coaster until the very end! Between doubts, very strong love, amazing characters and a story that made me feel out of breath, it truly brought the serial to a perfect ending. I was amazed by both Vaughn and Grace, even if I thought Grace did jump to conclusions at one point… The way Home folded out was so well done, and the dual point of views made […]

Review: Profile – J.A. Huss

Review: Profile – J.A. Huss

Profile took me on a wild and very scary ride, as Grace had to figure out how to flee once more. With my heart in my throat, I kept wanting to close my eyes for fear something terrible would happen to one of my favourite heroines. My Profile review: Please beware that Profile is the fifth book in the Social Media series, and even if I try very hard to not post anything spoilerish, there are some spoilers from prior books in my review this time. If you aren’t up to date, read at your own discretion. In Profile, Grace and Vaughn are separated – not by choice – for most of the story, and it made all past decisions, […]

Review: Status – J.A. Huss

Review: Status – J.A. Huss

Status is fast-paced, and there are a lot of things happening in the story, there is excitement, forgiveness, happiness, and new anger… My Status review: Grace is a very stubborn girl, but Vaughn is an ever more stubborn boy, so in Status, we are treated to a lot of back-and-forth between them, especially Grace is very reticent for a long time. At the beginning of Status, she is running away with Kirsti, as they both just need some time away from the craziness of the press, and to think things through before they continue the roller-coaster their lives has become. And I have to say I really enjoyed the friendship between Kirsti and Grace – I think they both needed […]

Review: Coming for You – J.A. Huss

Review: Coming for You – J.A. Huss

Coming for You is pretty epic, both as an ending in the Dirty, Dark, and Deadly series, and because the whole team from Rook and Ronin and the spinoffs show up. My Coming for You review: Where do I even start a review about the awesomeness that is Coming for You? In Come, I really didn’t like James at all! He made me so uneasy, and I thought he was obnoxious and forceful. However, in Come Back, I got to know him better, and especially the way he was with Sasha won me over completely. Let me just tell you that in Coming for You, he totally blew my socks off! The whole story was very eery, mysterious and filled […]

Review: Block – J.A. Huss

Review: Block – J.A. Huss

Block has everything a contemporary romance should have, there’s some mystery, lots of hotness, a character who has a well hidden secret and a movie star who falls in love for the first time. My Block review: Well, so far, for each new book in the Social Media series, Ms. Huss has been able to up the ante and get me more and more involved with the characters. Block brings a lot more to Grace especially. It is so easy to understand both her obsession with Vaughn, and her confusion because he seems to be just as obsessed with her. Also, the things about Vaughn that bothered me a little in Follow are all forgotten now. He has shown me […]

Review: Like – J.A. Huss

Review: Like – J.A. Huss

In Like, the readers get to know both Grace and Vaughn a little better… but those little crumbs just made me want much, much more! My Like review: Like shows just how far Vaughn is willing to go in order to make sure Grace will play along with him. From filling up her Starbucks card with more money than she earns in a year, to chatting with her on Twitter, and phoning her for some dirty talk and phone sex… It also gave me a new appreciation for both Vaughn and Grace. And while I still don’t exactly like Vaughn yet, I certainly am starting to see the appeal he has had for Grace these past years. Written in one […]
