Taking on the Billionaire served as my introduction to RCovington and I’m thrilled to have met her as well as her MCs, Adam & Tess. RCovington delivered a compelling story with well-drawn characters that kept me engaged the their story. I’m eager for more and anxious over the few questions she left me with in the end. 😉

Highlights

  • Characters
Both Adam and Tess suffered traumatic experiences at young ages. Adam was wrongly removed from his family home, taken from his siblings and his Cherokee heritage. He ended up adopted by a wealthy family who clearly cared more for their image than their new son. Tess was abandoned by her mother and lost her father not much later. She was left to raise her younger sister and work for revenge against the man she saw as responsible for her father’s death…. Adam’s adoptive father. Both Adam and Tess are independent and stubborn, both qualities that have served them well. These traits only served to heighten the sizzle between them. I admired them both for having convictions and fighting for what they wanted in life. It was a boon for them to discover they had some similar life goals…ones they hadn’t realized they had.
  • Romance
The chemistry between Adam and Tess was combustive. They’d been fighting against it while Tess, an investigator, worked at finding his siblings. But when another job presented itself, Adam was quick to offer it to Tess along with a fling with an expiration date. But sex this smoking hot doesn’t come without emotion and they were left trying to decide whether they should give it a go or give up their sizzle.
  • Plot
While some elements were predictable, RCovington still wove quite a story. I liked seeing Adam and Tess work together to find the saboteur in his company. I admired Adam for working so hard to bring his family back together. And I equally admired Tess when she gave up something important to her out of love for Adam. They both showed emotional growth that made me so happy.

RCovington ended things with a teaser about Adam’s business partner, Justin, and his sister, Sarina. I’m more than a little intrigued and look forward to continuing the series.
