Review: A Taste of Desire (The Elusive Lords #2) – Beverley Kendall

Review: A Taste of Desire (The Elusive Lords #2) – Beverley Kendall

A Taste of Desire is another good story in the Elusive Lords series. Amelia is strong and funny and extremely sarcastic, and Thomas had never been nursing hurt pride before he met her for the first time. The way they were both trying their best to not fall in love was well done, and the plot made sense. The love scenes were scorching hot, and definitely written with an adult audience in mind. I enjoyed the barbs Thomas and Amelia threw at each other – Thomas has finally met his match when it comes to verbal sparring. Review: Twist (Mageri #2) – Dannika Dark

Review: Twist (Mageri #2) – Dannika Dark

Twist picks up shortly after the end of the story in Sterling (Mageri#1). Silver is still the wonderful and strong female protagonist I loved in book one, and she continues to learn how to take care of herself, fight, and use her new powers under Justus’ guard. She also continues to be strong-minded and fiercely loyal to those she feels close to. The scenes with Silver and Simon in them are simply hilarious! He is a riot, and I love the way he has game nights with Silver twice per week, both to get her out of Justus’ underground house, and to keep himself entertained. Review: When Snow Falls (Whiskey Creek #2) – Brenda Novak

Review: When Snow Falls (Whiskey Creek #2) – Brenda Novak

*I received a free ARC of When Snow Falls from Harlequin MIRA via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* I just love the Whiskey Creek series and When Snow Falls is no exception! It is well written, with fleshed-out characters who try to do the best they can with what life has given them. I was happy to have this after I finished When Lightning Strikes, so I could continue with this universe straight away! Review: Rift (Nightshade Prequel #1) – Andrea Cremer

Review: Rift (Nightshade Prequel #1) – Andrea Cremer

Rift is the first book in the prequel series concerning the Nightshade universe. I was completely engrossed in this story, I loved Ember, as I usually love strong female protagonists. I also really liked to understand more about what happened during the Nightshade novels, the mythology, the hunger for power, the fight against evil, and the true companionship among the the guardians of the world. Review: Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) – Sarah Rees Brennan

Review: Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) – Sarah Rees Brennan

Unspoken is a book I actually have a lot of trouble rating and reviewing. On one hand, I love the author, her sense of humor and her writing. On the other hand, I had a very hard time connecting with any of the characters here, even though they all had both positive and negative character traits. Review: Stolen – Shiloh Walker

Review: Stolen – Shiloh Walker

*I received a free ARC of Stolen Random House via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review* Stolen really, really freaked me out! It had me from the first sentence, and I gripped my kindle for most of the time I was reading. What I liked the most is that in all the creepiness, there was still both romance and humor present most of the time. Yes, it’s actually possible, and it was masterfully done in this novel. Very exciting, quite thrilling and more than a little creepy. Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Review: The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #1) – Julie Kagawa

*I received an ARC of The Lost Prince from Harlequin Teen via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* There are a couple of things that happen in The Lost Prince that are actually explained in Iron’s Prophecy so if you have that one, I think it would be a great idea to read that first! The Lost Prince is everything I dreamed it could be, and more! I’m sure we can all guess how things are going to play out – right? Well, things don’t really go according to Ethan’s plan at all, but there is a lot of action, new friendships, and a mystery that has to be taken care of. Ethan finds out a lot more both […]

Review: Wanted: Undead or Alive (Love at Stake #12) – Kerrelyn Sparks

Review: Wanted: Undead or Alive (Love at Stake #12) – Kerrelyn Sparks

Wanted: Undead or alive left me with a first impressionl, I, who often don’t even notice covers, have to just mention this cover. That guy on the cover just can’t be Dr. Phang! Dr. Phang is black – that guy over there is definitely not black. I don’t understand why someone else is on the cover of Phang’s book. There, now that’s off my chest. Wanted: Undead or Alive was quite slow in comparison to the other books in this series, but the relationship budding between Phinneas and Brynley was well suited to go slow. And it permitted the readers to really get to know both of them a lot better, and to understand their hang-ups and their defensive mechanisms. […]
