*I received a free ARC of Stormdancer from Tor UK via Netgalley in order to write an honest review of this book* The glimpses into Yukiko’s past through the flashbacks are heartbreaking! It explains so much about her, and at the same time, it makes me want that she could still have the innocence, as well as the fellowship she had with her brother and Buruu. It also is an excellent way of providing the back-story, without resorting to info dumping. There are spoilers in this review, so beware if you haven’t read City of Lost Souls yet… And even if I was very frustrated with this book, the TMI series is still among my favorite series. City of Lost Souls really did not impress me.  The writing is not very fluid, and some repetitions are really irking me!  Also, quite a few characters are not at all acting the way I would expect them to. The Golden Lily actually surprised me in a very good way! I was a little cautious before I started it, because I had heard rumors of a love triangle, and I hate love triangles in my books. I wish I hadn’t listened to those rumors, because I would have read this long before I actually did. Sydney continues to be herself in this story, and at the same time, she lets herself grow as well, even when what she wants to do seems to be against her Alchemist beliefs. Team Human did have a few things going for it, but I didn’t connect that much with the MC, Mel was acting like a spoiled brat for a lot of it, and she thought she was helping her friends, but really, she was looking out for number one. I really liked Cathy, even if we didn’t get to know her all that well, since everything that happened was seen through Mel’s eyes.
