Review: Fury’s Kiss (Dorina Basarb #3) – Karen Chance

Review: Fury’s Kiss (Dorina Basarb #3) – Karen Chance

Fury’s Kiss is the third book in the Dorina Basarb series, and I have to say I’m very happy Dorina is back! She is one of those strong heroines, who can fight with the best of them, but who is still vulnerable enough to hug her best friend and be coddled when she’s feeling sad about something. She is also a no-nonsense woman, she knows what she wants, what she doesn’t want – and does her best to get her way – no matter who she’s up against.   Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Review: Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires #13) – Rachel Caine

Review: Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires #13) – Rachel Caine

Bitter Blood is the perfect continuation of The Morganville Vampires series. Claire is such a great heroine; she is smart, tough, courageous, loving and never gives up. Her friends are her new family, and it is quite a new adventure they are all facing in this story. Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

The League series is always filled with surprises, amazing fights and a real love story. Born of Silence follows the other books in the series, and the characters from all the other books are present in this volume, to my great delight. There were a lot of new revelations in this book, and I felt so bad for Darling, it almost hurt to read about his childhood. Then, again after he was taken by the insurgents and nobody realized who he was, I have to admit my heart was breaking into a million pieces. I don’t know how he could get through that at all. Of course, Darling wasn’t completely sane after that for quite some time, but when he […]

Review: The Scorpio Races – Maggie Stiefvater

Review: The Scorpio Races – Maggie Stiefvater

I had no idea what to expect when I picked up The Scorpio Races, and I was completely blown away by it all! The characters, the vicious cappal uisce and the mystery surrounding both them and the race. Puck had to fight for everything she believed in to save her home and her little brother, and Sean gave his all to save the cappal uisce he considered to be his own, while working hard to keep other riders and horses alive and well too. Review: I Do… Or Die – Donna Cummings

Review: I Do… Or Die – Donna Cummings

*I got a free ARC of I Do… Or Die from Manic Readers in exchange of an honest review* This review was first posted at Risqué Reviews on November 28th. I Do… Or Die starts the action with the very first phrase. The wedding happens at the beginning, the gunshots hurt the bride, and there is mayhem in the church, while Shelby dives to cover her best friend, Alexa. Luckily, Alexa is not badly hurt, but she has to stay a few days in the hospital while her new(est) husband Jordan is fretting. The meeting between Ryan and Shelby in the hospital is funny, and she feels attracted to him straight away. But on edge about the shooting, and her […]

Review: Wild About You (Love at Stake #13) – Kerrelyn Sparks

Review: Wild About You (Love at Stake #13) – Kerrelyn Sparks

*I received a free ARC of Wild About You from Avonbooks / Harper Voyager via Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review.* Love at Stake is my favorite series, and Wild About You lived up to my expectations. The mystery that went on from Wanted Undead or Alive was well done, and I was a happy reader indeed. Review: Beautiful Redemption (Caster Chronicles #4) – Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Review: Beautiful Redemption (Caster Chronicles #4) – Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Beautiful Redemption was very well written, with the characters we know and love moving on with a fate they really thought they’d never have to live (or die) with. They all grew and made concessions, and the humor was present just like in the other books in the series. The Caster Chronicles is among my favorite series ever, whether the series be YA or adult. The ending to a series I loved that was written so well should have gotten five stars you say? Well, yes, I thought so to, except there actually is a but… that I will discuss further down in my review to explain why I only gave it four stars. Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your […]

Review: An Heir of Deception (The Elusive Lords #3) – Beverley Kendall

Review: An Heir of Deception (The Elusive Lords #3) – Beverley Kendall

An Heir of Deception was, in my opinion, the best book in The Elusive Lords series. Charlotte is all grown up, and the lengths she went to to ensure her family’s happiness despite her own unhappiness was amazing. There were a lot of interactions with characters from prior books as well, and that was great, I love it when I like characters in a book, and I meet them again. Review: A Mother’s Promise – Anna Schmid

Review: A Mother’s Promise – Anna Schmid

*I received a free ARC of A Mother’s Promise from Barbour Publishing via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Rachel Kaufmann is part of the old order Mennonites, and after her husband’s death life is very difficult both for her and her son Justin, as her brother-in-law Luke is very strict, and thinks he should order both her and her son around now that James is no longer there to take care of them.
