Point of Retreat (Slammed #2) – Colleen Hoover

Point of Retreat (Slammed #2) – Colleen Hoover

*I received a free ARC of Point of Retreat from Simon & Schuster via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* Oh my, what an emotional roller coaster this was! Even more so than Slammed, if that is even possible. Will is still just as amazing, he’s the best male character in YA ever. And Lake is awesome as well. I just can’t get enough of these two and their little brothers as well as their merry band of friends. My heart was broken this time, too, and I was crying so hard for a while my head was hurting! I felt like I was one of the characters in the book – I was really there the whole time […]

Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

*I received a free ARC of Slammed from Simon & Schuster via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* Slammed blew me away, I laughed, I cried and my heart was broken, then fixed again! Lake has to be one of the best and strongest female MC’s I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know ever. And Will is exceptional as well. The hand life handed those two was not the easiest hand to be dealt, but they did deal with it, and they did it in an amazing way! They both have to face responsibilities most people their age have the luck not to meet yet, and they made some choices where they put others’ needs in front of […]

He learns differently already the first morning, when he gets his medication and immediately loses over an hour of his life due to the medicated haze. He soon realizes that life as he knew it will never be the same, even if he only has to stay for 72 hours. His brain is sluggish, his body doesn’t respond the way he thinks […]

Just One Night (Rebels With a Cause #1) – Eve Gaddy

Just One Night (Rebels With a Cause #1) – Eve Gaddy

*I received a free ARC of Just One Night from Bell Bridge Books via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* I did quite enjoy this book, but I had to take some points off for clichés, insta-love and predictability. If you want to read something quick, romantic and a little hot, with a splash of mystery and some conflicts of interest, this should hit exactly the right spot. When We Touch (Whiskey Creek #0.5) – Brenda Novak

Review: Iron’s Prophecy (The Iron Fey #4.5) – Julie Kagawa

Review: Iron’s Prophecy (The Iron Fey #4.5) – Julie Kagawa

Iron’s Prophecy probably would have gotten 5 stars from me if I had read this before I read The Lost Prince. I just needed some more Iron Fey, and I loved the interactions between Ash and Meghan, and Puck was his usual self – smirking and joking even in serious situations. And there were some glimpses of Mab, Oberon and Tatiania as well – which was nice – because Meghan could show her ‘regal-ness’ when dealing with them. She showed that she is not afraid of either of them, and that yes, she is indeed the Iron Queen. I loved how Meghan and Ash interacted! They just seemed so much in love, and their friendship and respect for each other […]

The Truth About Lilly Barnes – Kimberly Russel

The Truth About Lilly Barnes – Kimberly Russel

*I received a free copy of The Truth About Lilly Barnes in exchange for an honest review, and also to participate in a blog tour as well as a giveaway * To participate in the giveaway, please click here The Truth About Lilly Barnes was very hard to read! It is about a 17-year-old girl, Lilly, and it starts with what she has planned to be her last day. It certainly has a lot of triggers, both about suicide, sexual assault, anorexia and OCD. I think it is only fair to warn you, so that if any of those things might be a trigger for you, stop reading even this review right now! Lilly has planned her own death for […]

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1) – Kendare Blake

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1) – Kendare Blake

My goodness, what a creepy, startingly beautiful, but scary tale Anna Dressed in Blood is! With amazing attention to details, Ms. Blake made me live through this whole tome with bated breath. There were some truly horrendous scenes, but they were there for a good reason, and the plot never took anything away from the story, or the characters. Cas is a young man with a tremendous job to do, and for the first time in his life, he gets friends, and falls in love. There is both a contemporary mystery, where Cas has to find the ghost Anna, and make sure she stops hurting people, and an older mystery, surrounding the death of Cas’ father. Even if he has […]

Time Untime (Dark Hunter #22) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Time Untime (Dark Hunter #22) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Time Untime – book 22 in one of my favorite series was quite different from the rest of the books in some ways, and very similar in others. The biggest difference for me was that I didn’t really love Ren all that much 🙁 I get that his extremely long life has been difficult, and that he has never known love, but the self-loathing was really hard to read about, and made it less enjoyable to read than I would have liked.  I totally loved Kateri, though, and both Ash and Nick showed up to save the day, and I love both of them as well, so there were lots of things to like in this instalment, even if there […]

Review: The Baron’s Governess Bride – Deborah Hale

Review: The Baron’s Governess Bride – Deborah Hale

*I received a free ARC of The Baron’s Governess Bride from Inspired Love via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.* The Baron’s Governess Bride is a very sweet and innocent historical romance. A quick read, a little predictable, but still very enjoyable. Grace Ellersby is a young, beautiful governess and she hides her beauty so that the men who might be guests of the household will not try to seduce her. That’s a big problem she’s had in the past, and she has fled three prior employers to get away from too forward gentlemen.
