A Rock Star Kidnaps a Runaway Bride…
Kidnapping the bride seemed like a good idea at the time.
Her fiancé stole my fortune, so I stole his woman.
Tit for tat. Or tat for tit. However you want to look at it.
The one thing I didn’t expect?Willow Honeycutt, preschool teacher, boy band super fan, is completely crazy.
And somehow she’s turned the tables on me.
Now, she’s holding me hostage, and she won’t let me go until we hit every item on her sparkly new, completely insane bucket list.
And that last item?
That last item might cost me more than any fortune.
It very well might cost me my heart.
Wifey, I didn’t think I was going to like Rockaway Bride as much as its predecessors because it didn’t incorporate the full cast like the first 2 installments did. However, after some reading and thinking, I realized that with Willow being the quiet introvert of this group, this was the only way her story could have been told!
YAY I’m so happy you enjoyed this as well! It didn’t incorporate the full cast, but my oh my, it was well done, right?
So, the pre-wedding night…I can’t express how elated I was that she was re-thinking marrying what’s-his-name. (As an aside, I really want to read her step-brothers’ books because I love them!) The shenanigans definitely took an interesting turn though – I wasn’t expecting a kidnapping! Were you are happy as me about Willow’s cold feet?
You should so read her step-brothers’ books, they are awesome! And yes, I was elated by Willow’s cold feet. It also made me laugh that things didn’t go the way she had anticipated.
I loved getting inside Willow’s head, gaining an understanding of why she does what she does. Getting a glimpse of who she really is was fascinating. I couldn’t believe how much she tamed herself. What did you think?
Willow is a great character, in many ways, she’s very mature and calm, and in other ways, she’s still a wild girl, who goes for it. Apart from the fact that she stayed with what’s-his-name for so long, that is.
I really felt for Dax. Having lost all your savings would definitely make you desperate, and desperate times call for desperate measures. But he sure got more than he bargained for with Willow. LOL I loved their travels and travails. These two kept me giggling. How about you?
LOL it was so funny that he thought she’d be this meek woman – and in a way, he needed to be saved, and she was there for it. I laughed out loud so many times, and I have to say that Pippa Grant’s humor reminds me of Jana Aston’s humor – just what I need when I feel like a good laugh.
The bad things happening to Dax were more than him losing his life’s savings. What did you think about the curse that was plaguing him and his bandmates?
Yeah, it was kinda weird this curse. But was it real, or was it in their minds? I think that they had everything they ever dreamed of, and then it was brusquely taken away from them in different ways. And they had no idea what to do or how to deal with problems they hadn’t had in the past.
I liked how things wrapped up, too. Willow and Dax found themselves with each other. The Willow that was unveiled or un-caged was magnificent. Did you like the ending?
I loved everything about this novel! The beginning, the middle and the ending 🙂

For anyone who’s ever been on the receiving end of an unsolicited dick pic…
He has the muscles of Adonis, an ego bigger than the sun, and a very clear desire to get back in my pants. Which would be fantastic if he weren’t a SEAL and I wasn’t a criminal.
Although, I prefer the term avenger.
I’m a hacktivist, cleaning up the cesspool of cyberspace one scam artist and troll at a time, and I sometimes bend a few rules to get justice done.
He’s a military man with abs of glory, sworn to uphold the letter of the law no matter its shortcomings. And if he’d known who—or what—I was, I doubt he would’ve banged me at my best friend’s wedding reception.
Or come back for more.
Which is why he’s now the only thing standing between me and one very pissed off internet troll who’s figured out where I live.
I’m pretty sure he’ll get me out of this alive—and quite satisfied, thank you very much—but I’m also pretty sure this mission will end with me in handcuffs.
And not the good kind of handcuffs.
The Hero and the Hacktivist is probably my very favorite in the series (a close second is Stud in the Stacks ;)) Eloise is a riot! I just knew there had to be more to her than met the eye. And boy was there. Rhett was her perfect match. Truly!
Eloise – who seemed to be so aloof… but she was so much more than her friends thought she was. Rhett was her perfect match, you’re absolutely right…
Eloise is brash and lives life out loud. I’d never have guessed that her personality was a cover-up. She likes to keep people at a distance and when I found out why, I admired and lover her all the more. Your feelings about Eloise?
I felt the same way! In the prior books I was meh about her, but here, when I actually got to know her, and see her thoughts and her reasons for the way she acted, I adored her.
Rhett – well I’ve loved him since I met him. I’d never have thought he’d be a match for Eloise but he was exactly what she needed. And honestly, he needed her, too. What did you think of their match?
I think they were so good together. And I think that the way they were both smart, and could think several paces in front of others made it even better.
While this one was hilarious – I mean, the outrageous things Eloise says and Rhett does – it had a more serious and suspenseful element. I enjoyed it, how it allowed Rhett to do his thing. And we got to spend more time at Crunchy, where we got to see nap pods! LOL How did you feel about this plot thread?
I would love to have a nap pod at work! I also loved the way that there was something more suspenseful and serious here – and I loved that this was something Eloise had worked on for a long time. She didn’t even realize she needed backup until she got it.
Overall, I adored The Hero and the Hacktivist. Eloise and Rhett will absolutely keep each other on their toes. While I’m sad the Girl Band series has come to an end, it certainly went out with a bang. Thanks for suggesting we buddy read this series, wifey. It was just what I needed in 2021. 🙂
I’m so happy you enjoyed these books as much as I did wifey! I think we all needed some fun in 2021, and there are more books by the same author that I’m sure you’ll love, too. So you can get more of the same in 2022 😉

Yea! I did adore all of the books in this series. Which one did the glitter bomb? I remember how much I loved how off the wall Rhett and Eloise were in their banter and antics. I hope you guys review more of the related books since I haven’t read them.
