Chase
I’ve just bought the woman of my nightmares.
Technically, I bought the company she works for. Point is, she cost me my two best friends ten years ago. It’s payback time, and I’m going to make her life hell.
When I’m not banging her silly and myself stupid.
I need to get my head back in business, because getting off is great, but "He was a man who had sex, and lots of it, and in the worst locations, with the woman of his nightmares" isn’t the inscription I want on my tombstone.
Even if it’s true.Ambrosia
There are three things I hate:
Bratwurst in any form, my neighbors boinking loudly like farm animals at 3 AM, and Chase Jett.
Mostly I hate Chase Jett. It’s been ten years since he took my virginity—I’d make a bratwurst joke, but the unfortunate truth is that it would have to be a bratbest joke, and yes, it kills me to admit it—and now he’s not only a billionaire, he’s also my new boss.
Turns out our hate is mutual. And this kind of hate is horrifically twisted, filthy, and banging hot.
I just might have to hate him forever.
Wifey, thank you SO much for recommending this series. I needed lots of giggles and PGrant and the Girl Band series delivered.
I enjoyed this series so, so much, Brandee! I think they kind of saved me in 2021… laughing out loud and following the crazy shenanigans of these characters just made me feel so good.
I have to say that I’m not the biggest fan of hate sex. BUT PGrant made me a fan of Bro & Chase’s version of it! 😉
LOL, Bro and Chase are definitely it… and I thought it was kind of ‘normal’ for them to have hate sex, yeah?
I adore the fact that Bro, or Sia, as she goes by with everyone but Chase, plays in a band that performs boy band covers. That was so much fun! And the fact that these girls are so close and always have each others’ backs – well, I liked that quite a bit. Sia is a nut! I was constantly cracking up at the things that came out of her mouth. The girl has ZERO filter. It was too funny. What was your initial impression of Sia?
Yeah, she’s the best kind of nut! I laughed so much thanks to her. And I agree, the girls having each others’ backs was a high point of the whole series. I think the sense of humor Pippa Grant shares kind of reminds me of another author we both know and love 😉
Chase and Sia have history. They grew up together and he was her twin brothers’ best friend. But she’d had a tough time of things following a certain incident involving the Bratwurst Wagon. I mean, she hadn’t even told her besties the whole story! Then Chase, aka Mister McHottie, goes and buys the company Sia works for and madness ensues. I liked how the girls handled the situation. LOL How did you feel about the way Sia chose to deal with what had happened to her? I admired her pluck. She made something of herself despite the setbacks. And apparently gained some mad glitter skills. 😉
I mean, not only was the Bratwurst Wagon incident hilarious – and mortifying! – it was something that made Sia the woman she is today. And I think that’s why she was so hellbent on being away from Chase. He did leave her in a lurch, and it was funny to see her deal with that in her own unique way.
I LOVED Chase. That he was driven to do what he was doing – changing the world through food – was awe-inspiring. Especially the reason behind his mission. I felt for him having lost his best friends and not ever really knowing the whole story. Your thoughts?
Well, he could have known the whole story… if he’d asked someone. I totally get why he hadn’t, though. Chase is my kind of good guy, especially because he had the financial security to back up his speaking points.
Maybe my favorite element of this series is that we meet so many characters, they’re all meaningfully enveloped in the separate story lines, and they’re all hilarious! Did you enjoy the colorful cast?
I absolutely loved the colorful cast! I breezed through it when I first picked up one book (which was Stud in the Stacks btw), and I loved every second.

When it comes to women, I know what they want. And all day long, I give it to them. Dark, broody, and sexy? You got it. Need to laugh? I’m your guy. Desperate for something to put you in the mood? You’ve come to the right place, kitten.
Every morning when my library opens, there’s a line around the block, the ladies flocking to me in need of their next book boyfriend. I’m that dude. The one who knows his way around the romance section. And if you think that hasn’t gotten me plenty of action over the years, you’d be wrong.
But I made a slight miscalculation at work, and now my reputation has my job in danger. If I can’t prove to my boss that I’m more than a playboy who recommends romance in the hopes of getting some hanky panky in the stacks, I’m headed for the unemployment line.
Enter Parker Elliott. She rocks a mean guitar, she has no idea how sexy she is, and she’s in need of a temporary fake boyfriend.
Best of all? She doesn’t have a library card. I couldn’t have found a better fake fiancée if I’d written her myself.
Which moves us right into Parker’s story, Stud in the Stacks. This is my favorite of the four because who wouldn’t love a male librarian who thinks the romance genre is the bomb?!? I swooned over him saying Pride & Prejudice is the best romance of all time. Where did Parker and Knox fall in your order of preference?
I know, right? Parker and Knox were awesome, and I think this is my favorite in the series as well. The male librarian who defends romance more than anything else is so hot. Plus, I loved how he dealt with his mom and his grandma’s meddling 😀
I enjoyed that Parker and Knox had a history as well. The fake relationship becoming real trope worked well for them. Poor Parker had a terrible time during her teen years. The name calling and brutal teasing, I felt for her. She’d naturally want to make a better impression at her high school reunion. Especially since Chase (her boss) is requesting she go to meet with a particular guy. Parker works so hard to prove she’s worthy and to leave the girl she was in the past. But she doesn’t realize that those things made her who she is and she IS and always was worthy. What did you think about Parker?
I agree, Parker was an amazing character, and her past is part of why she’s so cool now. I loved that Knox found her to be cool when they were younger, too. And my goodness, what Chase asked her to do for her highschool reunion was so not cool! She really didn’t have to deal with all of that. But at the same time, once she managed to finish it, I think she was stronger for it as well.
Knox has his own reasons for taking on the fake dating. He’s having job-related woes due to his status as Mr. Romance. Personally I think his boss was just jealous. 😉 That Knox was such a romance fan, was so close to his family, lived with his Nana, and was determined to show Parker her worth made him the swooniest, in my opinion. How did you feel about Knox?
Oh my gosh! Knox is the best, and I hated that one of his bosses was making life so hard for him. And I agree, the boss was jealous that Knox was able to get so many people to the library, but there were some other reasons as well, right? I loved the way he was so honest, and how he was totally on board on playing things up to make sure Parker knew how freaking amazing she was.
I honestly loved everything about Stud in the Stacks. The way the romance blossomed, getting to see everyone else, how things with Knox’s job worked out and seeing Parker get the ultimate revenge all added up to great time! The unicorn poop was the cherry on top. 😉
LOL unicorn poop 😀 Yeah, I loved everything about Stud in the Stacks, too. And I hope we’ll read more Pippa Grant in the future, wifey.
Reading this book contributed to these challenges:
YES!!! I picked up the audiobook for Stud (book 2) back when it first came out and I LOOOVVVVEED it! I mean, sexy male romance librarian?! Fake relationship?! And was she the one that had the autocorrect issues? LOL!! Anyhow, it was a fabulous listen. I then went on to check out the rest of the series and a couple others (lots of crossovers in Pippa’s world). I enjoyed many, but that book will always be my favorite of hers. So much fun! I may need a re-read. Thanks ladies!
I listened to the audio as well, as I got an audio ARC for it. Then I went back and got the others in KU (and Stud as well) and read them with Brandee 🙂 Pippa Grant is a new favorite of mine when it comes to romantic comedy 🙂

Stud in the Stacks was my intro to the series and I LOVED it. I did go back and read Mr. McHottie which is weird. I have the next books to read but have every of intention of getting back to this series.
I love her sense of humor so much! I’m laughing out loud. And the hot scenes are positively steamy (which I also love 😉 )
You both have me enthused to give this series a go. Fun duo review!
I’m reading another series set in the same universe right now – it’s just SO much fun!

I see you both had fun with this one. I never read the author before, but you both have wanting to reach for this series,
I hadn’t read this author before I started with the 2nd book in this series, Nadene, and I’m so happy I did. I’m actually bingeing another series by her that’s set in the same universe now 🙂 So much fun!

I need to get on the Pippa Grant wagon. I have a few audiobooks, but am going to grab this!
I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did, Kim!

Well this looks like a series I need to read. I’m seriously curious about this “bratwurst incident” 😂. I have mixed feelings about hate sex, it can be so hot but also a little disturbing. But I do tend to like enemies to lovers in general. Added to my list, hope I get to it this decade lol
