Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #321

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

The Sunday Post #251 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This past week saw me in a lot of meetings at school so that we are all ready for the new school year that starts on Monday. We have three different scenarios – and we’re starting with the first one. On Monday, all students will come to school, wearing a mask everywhere on the school grounds (even outside if 1.5 meters of distance can’t be respected). Teachers also have to wear masks, apart from if we’re at the front of the classroom with over 1.5 meters between us and the students. Scenario #2 is in case things get iffy, half of the students will come to class one week, the other half the next week – and those who are at home will have specific tasks to do so that they keep up with what’s done in class. 3rd case scenario is if school is closed down for students, we go back to online teaching and learning – so I have planned three different schedules just so that I will be on top of things no matter what happens.

It was great seeing my colleagues again – I was so excited for our full staff meeting yesterday morning! And I was not the only one. Us teachers are social beings, and it was just nice to be able to chat and plan with people in person.

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Puppies cooling down in a creek on their walk one morning this week <3

It’s been really hot this week (around 100F / 34-35 c) and the dogs love to swim, so they’ve been visiting different creeks on their morning walks this week 🙂

Fadwa @ World of Wonder shares Her Experience Being an International Reviewer and I can relate to a lot of what she says (apart from the fact that I can easily buy books… libraries how ever is another story here.)

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

Oh wow! Nice new reads!!! I’m excited for Gena’s next YA book as well, but I’ve been trying not to get some of those automatic downloads since I’m still working on one of my challenges for physical books! Lol.

I hope your school year goes well and plan A works the best for you! The puppies look like they’re having so much fun in the water! I hope you have a good school and reading week!

My StS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

Sounds like your school is as prepared as it can be. Yay for a fun teacher reunion at your meeting. Ah, poor hot puppies. 🙂 Those Gena Showalters sound good.

    Have a good week, Linda!

  3. It must have been nice to get back together with the other teachers! I hope your school reopening goes well! Can you believe it’s here already?? Ours starts next week too and I’m nervous but hopeful. We’ll see what happens. 🙂

Love that pic, I’ll bet the cool water felt great for the dogs!

  4. It looks like you’ve got some fun new books.
And I can imagine you guys were excited to get back to work. Looks like you are ready for all scenarios. I hope you’ll only have to use the first one though.
Have a great week and happy reading.

  5. Lovely to hear you have been able to have meetings with your colleagues to plan for the new term. We have had an email about our inset days and how the structure of school will be, when we open in a week and a bits time. Looks like we will be coming into school as year groups on different days.

Take care, stay safe, enjoy your new books and happy reading! ?

Sounds like you have it all covered. Better over prepare than none right? Stay safe and stay in!

  7. In my state kids still enjoy their summer vacation and I know that teachers are preparing for the new school year with the experience other schools made during the past weeks. It is quiete a challenge. Thank you for sharing your books. I have to check the Gena Showalter books. Happy reading and stay safe and well.

  8. Oh wow – hats off for having got yourself fully prepped for all contingencies, Linda:). And in that heat, too… I love the pic of the puppies – they’ve got the right idea. I hope the coming week goes really smoothly!

  9. I hope everything goes well but it will because you are fully prepared. Lol the puppies, Lulu won’t even go on the grass when it’s wet without encouragement. She hates snow but we only have about 2 days a year. Happy reading!

    • Yeah, we just have to not have any covid cases at school (or among any of the people coming to school)…

Freddy has always loved both showers and swimming, and Hercules kind of follows even if he doesn’t love it as much.

Have a wonderful week, Anne <3

How nice to see everyone! I always enjoy the back to school time. Good luck this week, I hope you’re able to stay in scenario 1 (since that will mean y’all are staying healthy). Stay safe my friend ❤️. Miss you!
