Weekend Wrap-up #319 – I Graduated!!

Posted 11 July, 2020 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Reviews / 35 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #318

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

Lucky Shot was a freebie for kindle this week, and thus impossible to resist 🙂 I love this series, and I can’t wait to read the prequel <3

The Sunday Post #258 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I got my exam results this week, and I graduated from my pedagogical studies! I am now officially a teacher, and I couldn’t be happier! Last weekend, youngest daughter turned 15, and tomorrow, oldest daughter turns 25, so it’s been a week with celebrations galore, and that continues this weekend.

The weather has been fantastic, sunny and quite warm during the day, and cool at night – it’s the perfect summer weather in my opinion. Things have been rather quiet apart from our celebrations, but I haven’t been reading much. I’m not sure what’s up with that. I’m still anxious about Covid-19, I guess. And I’m trying to visualize what the school year starting late August will look like.

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome! Stay safe and healthy, and remember to mask up if you leave your house <3

  1. Congratulations! That is so awesome, and probably a much needed relief as well. The pups are adorable as always.

I hear you on the reading. I seem to be reading in quick bursts, and not in the relaxing, escaping into another world that I’m accustomed to. Another thing this virus has stolen (temporarily, at least) from so many of us. I’m behind on everything, except just surviving and that is probably the whole point right now. 🙂

Sounds like a great celebration weekend for the whole family. My son is beyond school age now, but I cannot imagine the fears/concerns about returning to the classroom.. no matter what country we live in. Be safe.

    • Thanks Marsha!

I’m actually surprised about my reading, usually, it’s my one solace when things are stressful, but not this time around. I don’t really have anything else to be behind on these days, so I guess that’s good?

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your weekend!

Congratulations Linda!! That’s amazing!! You should be very proud of yourself! And Happy Birthdays all around to your daughters! That’s wild that their birthdays are in the same month and just a week or so apart! My sister and I are three years difference but our birthdays are near exactly one month apart! She’s a November baby and I’m December. It’s weird how things happen like that!

Yay for the new read! I hope you enjoy this one too!

My StS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    • Thank you Jessica! I really am 🙂 It took me a while, but now it’s all done. It’s fun that my girls are just over a week apart, and my mom’s birthday is today, too 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

Congratulations, Linda! That was well-earned. Enjoy those family birthdays and the fabulous summer weather. Awww, the heart-shaped pic is adorable.

  4. Huge congratulations on graduating! I hope you can take some time to put your feet up and enjoy the summer before you have to return. The pic of the dogs is adorable:). Have a great week, Linda!

  5. Congratulations!! That must be so exciting. 🙂 And happy birthday to your daughters as well, hope your celebrations have been fantastic! It’s been nice here too weather- wise the past few days, a nice break from the hot temps we had last week.

I’m really curious about what back to school is going to look like as well. Over here things are not good so it’s definitely nerve wracking. And I feel bad for the teachers too as they have even more stress to contend with.

Love the Hercules/ Freddy pic as usual! 🙂

    • Thank you Greg! I’m so happy it’s over, and that I did well, too.
We might do a mix of online and in person teaching – having half of the students in class while the other half follows from home (which means I need to do video conferences for all my classes). They are trying their best to make sure everyone will be safe.

Congratulations Linda! That must feel great to be able to finally be finished! 😉 Awesome!!

And congratulations on both your daughters birthday’s. That sounds like a fun week for you.

Your dogs are just the cutest!

    Stay safe and happy reading!

  7. Congratulations, Linda ? Much deserved I am sure! It sounds like it has been a great week all round (forgetting the pandemic-that-shall-not-be-named). Sadly it was a week of miserable weather here but otherwise the week was good for me. Take care and happy reading in the coming week too. ?

Omg yay!!! I’m so happy for you ❤️! Too bad covid hit, we should be planning to celebrate next month when you were supposed to come to town. Know I’m raising a glass to you ?!

I have been thinking lately how grateful I am that I’m not a teacher this year. Even though I love it and miss it in so many ways – I can’t imagine trying to approach this school year (especially with Kinder babies!)! You’ll have to keep us posted on how your school system decides to do things. It will, undoubtedly, be smarter than the US where we have politicized a pandemic ?.

Happy birthday to your kiddos! 25 and 15! Wow!

I haven’t been in much of a reading mood either – the stress of this covid world maybe? I’m trying a reread and it seems to be getting me back into it. We’ll see ?!

    Miss you! {{Hugs}}

Congrats on becoming a teacher. I taught for a few years, so I can share a few stories with ya. this is my first time to your blog. Love the colors @theglobaldig.blogspot.com

  11. CONGRATS! My Friend! I am so happy for you! You worked so hard for it!
I hope your girls had awesome birthday!
I love those Puppies! They are just too cute!

Have a great week, My friend! Miss you lots and lots! Happy Reading! oxox

  12. Congratulations!!! I know what you mean about reading, I’ve had a slump for most of the quarantine. It wasn’t until last week that I finally managed to read more than a book per week. I’m slowly digging myself out of that slump. Hopefully the crisis will be over soon and we’ll be able to go back to a normal life, as normal as possible. Stay safe and happy reading!

  13. I am so happy for you to have graduated. Be proud of yourself as we are. I’m sure you’ll be enjoying books more after relaxing and a break. I think you’re in a better place to open schools than we are. But my daughter’s school is staying online. Even if they weren’t she could just choose online classes. I’m getting less done with being distracted by COVID and political news. UGH.

Have a wonderful week and stay well!
