Weekend Wrap-up #303 – Winter Break in Spain

Posted 9 February, 2020 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 34 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #303

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

As I’m on K.A. Tucker’s ARC team, I got a copy of this beauty this week. I can’t wait to read it! <3

Both of these were pre-orders, and they were also bought with a gift card, so I’m still complying with the rules for Unearthing a Bookish Bounty.

The Sunday Post #243 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This past week, I had a visitor at home, the group we visited in England in September last year came to spend a week in Geneva. It was an awesome week, but also exhausting. So I’m really happy to have a week off right now.

As it happens, only the Hubs and I plus the puppies have gone to Spain for a few days. The girls are in Norway visiting their brother, and my oldest son left for a semester in Dublin last weekend. The house is rather empty these days, but it’s also pretty nice.

The weather in Spain is gorgeous! It’s sunny and much warmer than at home. We might just try for a very quick dip in the sea while we’re here. Of course, the pups love it here!

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Puppies and hubby on the beach, we took a very long walk, and it was awesome!
Puppies needed a little relaxing, too – of course, they wanted to stay in the sun!

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

  1. I am eagerly awaiting my pre-order of Wild at Heart hitting my kindle. Can’t wait to see what you think! It always amazes me how people in Europe can travel so easily. I can’t even get off the east coast in the US without spending more money than I want to. Hope you got that dip in the sea!

Glad you had a nice time off! A good vacation is always nice. I’m trying to get one planned for myself because I am already dying for a break from my job situation that continues to not get better. Especially since my commute has gotten more complicated and a tad longer when they decided it was time to close my exit both ways of coming and going to build their new soccer stadium.

Nice new read! It’s a new to me one but glad you got one you were excited for! I hope you enjoy it!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. I have Wicked Bite too! Haven’t read it yet because I’m waiting for a friend to buy it so we can do a buddy read. We’re big fans of JF! The pups look SO cute. I’m sure they’re having the best time. How warm is it in Spain now?

  4. I still have to read the first book in that KA Tucker series, I already have a copy, just need to get around to reading it. I hope you’ll enjoy book 2. Sounds like you and the dogs are enjoying your few days in Spain. Have a great week!

  5. Glad you had a lovely time at the beach… Now all our youngsters have flown the nest, it is fun to once more just be a couple. Though it’s lovely when they come home, or we look after the grandchildren:)

      • Ah… grandchildren! So much emotion bound up in that one word:). And I completely understand how you feel about the sea – I also feel that way and we are lucky enough to be just a 10 minute drive from it…

Glad the guest visit went well and you got the chance for a fun holiday in Spain even if you miss your kids all scattering in their own directions.
Whew, nice haul this week. I still need to read the first of that KA series.
    Puppies look happy!

    Have a great week, Linda!

  7. Yay for winter break! You do have an interesting schedule. Our spring break is in March this year (sometimes as late as April). The beach with puppies sounds wonderful!

Have a nice break and enjoy some new reads!

Oh I’m incredibly envious of your Spain vacation! Look at how beautiful it is! Enjoy your time and maybe a swim ?. Sending you hugs!

  9. That’s a great picture of puppy and hubby on the beach 🙂 And we just finished with houseguests too, so I know what you mean. It’s fun, but it’s okay when it ends too. 😉

Yay for a new book by KA Tucker! And I like the idea of escaping to better weather in Spain. It sounds like your family are well traveled and all going everywhere. And it sounds like having guests over went well even if it was a bit tiring from time to time!
