Weekend Wrap-up #272 – #Rare19Paris

Posted 6 April, 2019 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Reviews, Wrap-up Posts / 46 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #272

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

The Sunday Post #212 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Last weekend, after my wrap-up post was posted, we went up on a mountain close to Geneva, because I wanted to show off the beautiful view of the city 🙂

Today (Saturday) Brandee, Denise and I are at RARE 2019 Paris! And we’re really excited, because we’re also all volunteering to help out. I’m a line ambassador for Ilona Andrews, Brandee is line ambassador for Scarlett Cole, and Denise is helping Jennifer L. Armentrout. We were so excited when we got our assignments, I can’t even begin to explain how we all happy danced at that!

We arrived in Paris on Friday, and we’re sharing photos on the Facebook Page and on Instagram if you want to see what we’re up to 😉

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

  1. RARE sounds so fun, especially the volunteering part, and getting to interact with the authors. Hope you guys have a BLAST!!!

    And a super week!!!

  2. Sophia Rose

Very cool that you all are at RARE Paris, but also assisting authors. Can’t wait to see the pics!

Ooh nice!! I’ve always wanted to volunteer at a book event, but then a part of me still enjoys being there as an attendee and enjoying it that way! One of these days I might try giving it a go! Hope you all have fun! I was just wondering what event Jennifer was attending since I saw her Paris pics on Instagram! Never been there myself, but would love to go. I’d be happy to just go back to Italy! Lol.

Hope you enjoy all of your new reads and find some good ones at the event too! I can never pass up on signed books! Lol!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • We were able to get our own books signed during the early entry, then we helped out until 2:45, when there were still two hours left before the signing was over, so we got time to do everything.
Yes, Jennifer was at RARE, too, and it was fun to see her again 🙂

RARE19 Paris sounds so exciting! It’s a while before any of the events I’ve planned for the year. I really wanted to go to Book Lovers Con in New Orleans, but it was not in the budget for this year. I hope you guys have a great time!

      • I was debating on Book Bonanza, since it is here. I like to stay in the con hotels though so I don’t have to drive in every day. I haven’t budgeted for it, but maybe I’ll look into it again. It would be cool to see you and Brandee! I know you guys are planning on meeting up with some of the other local bloggers around here, so it would be fun!

OMG!! What a great experience in Paris! Very jealous, but happy for you all. The cover of Defy Me is hypnotizing!

  6. So exciting! I look forward to hearing more about your trip next week!

I thought about getting the Scent of Murder and then read more about it and found it there wasn’t too much about dog training and decided against it so I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts. I read Hidden and I’m a Zanetti fan. Have an amazing week!

  7. Whoa! You’re at RARE with Sophie (Beware of the Reader), and it sounds like a fabulous event. That’s pretty awesome that you all are line ambassadors. I hope you all have an amazing time. I just starting listening to Maisey Yates books, and I am enjoying them.

  8. How lucky to be able to help out the authors. RARE sounds exciting and glad you enjoyed your time there. The Scent Of Murder is on list to read too. Sounds great and I love the cover!

    • Thank you!
A line ambassador helps the line move smoothly, and since Ilona Andrews was a ticketed author, there was one person – Harley – who made sure everyone had their wristbands and that the board was up to date with the ticket numbers. I was at the front of the line, taking pictures of readers with Ilona and Gordon, and sometimes translating when they were uncomfortable speaking English 🙂 It was amazing!

  9. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan

Looks like you are all having so much fun together. I will take a hit your FB page soon! Have a great week ahead.

  10. What a fabulous experience! Cons are always so much fun, but very, very intense… I do hope you are able to rest and recover once you return home:))
