Weekend Wrap-up #268 – Season Change

Posted 9 March, 2019 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 39 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #268

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

Thank you William Morrows Paperbacks and Edelweiss! I can’t wait to start the newest Jill Shalvis.

Can you believe the last installment in The Bone Witch is already out?

The Sunday Post #208 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

It’s my second week back at uni, and I’m dead tired! I just don’t know how I’m going to be able to hang on until the end of May. On Mondays, for example, I teach in the morning, then, in the afternoon and evening, I have class at uni – until 8pm. I’m utterly exhausted. So of course, that makes it really difficult to fall asleep in the evening. *sighs*

It’s been a good week, though. My students are really getting into our literature classes. My kids are all doing great. And the puppies are good, too. Of course, I still manage to read, because without that, I’d be completely lost 🙂

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Freddy and Hercules love napping, and I have tried all week to actually nap with them.

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

  1. My schedule is no where near the busyness of yours and I’m exhausted. This week is our spring breaks so I’ve been lazy. I’d never make it without reading either. I hope you can make moments of peace for yourself, as you go. Maybe you get a few days at Easter, like my daughter’s classes?

I want to get Lemon Sisters on audiobook. You’ll see I hauled big this week again though. Yikes!

    • I’m glad you got some time off, Anne! We have ten days off for Easter (which is only 6 weeks away) and that is going to be awesome! I feel like my students – counting down the days until the next vacation.
I hope you’ll get your hands on Lemon Sisters in audio format.
      Have a great weekend 🙂

  2. Oh those are long days! Glad that it’s going well though at uni, and that you’re still finding some time to read. 🙂

The Shadow Glass cover is so awesome.

  3. Sophia Rose

Whew! Yes, that is a long day even if you get an extra nap in on Sundays to help. Hopefully, the lit classes will continue to go well with the kids, too.
    The Lemon Sisters looks fun.

    Have a restful weekend, Lexxie!

OOh nice new reads! I sadly couldn’t get into The Bone Witch series, but I’ m glad you’re enjoying it!

Yikes. Mondays sound like a bear! I always felt exhausted as a student when my first class was at 7 or 8 in the morning nad the last one wasn’t until 3. And there was usually only one class or two classes between them! But since my university had a large commuter intake, I never wanted to leave and lose my parking spot! I did once and learned my lesson and for the rest of my 4 years there I stayed in the building all day! LOL.

Hope you are able to sneak in some reading this week and have a GREAT week!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  5. I need to read The Shadowglass ASAP. I’ve had it for a few weeks now but I’ve been reading other books. Definitely need to make some time for it. I loved the other two books so much! ♥

  6. I still haven’t read even the first book of the Bone Witch! I remember when it first came out and I really liked the premise 🙂

  7. As if Mondays weren’t tough enough, now your schedule is making them even tougher. Hang in there! I am excited about The Lemons Sisters. The last last Wildstone book more than exceeded my expectations, and I am hoping for more of that.

    • I know, right? At least everything feels a bit lighter in the spring semester, as the days become longer and it’s no longer dark when we leave class in the evening 🙂
I agree, the last Wildstone book was awesome, I can’t wait to dig in to The Lemon Sisters 🙂

  8. I’m so glad I’m finished with school…and work!

I’ve created a linky on my blog for the Sunday Salon and I’ve kept the Facebook group. I hope you will join in and spread the word.

  9. Those are looong days! I hope that you manage to get a break soon, Lexxie – don’t keeping pushing forward until you make yourself ill – I know of what I speak:(.

  10. I could look at your Freddy/Hercules pictures all day – so cute. Thank you for sharing them with us. Keep your head up, you can do it and May is not that far away, right? So there is a light at the end of the tunnel *smile*

  11. I’m not sure I can make it to may and I am NOT taking classes at uni! I just have to teach. We don’t have spring break until the end of April and it feels so far away!! Hopefully you get to nap with the puppies soon!

  12. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan

I agree with your reading habits, without them I would be so lost too. I hope you have a better week ahead, Lexxie!

  13. My goodness. Those are some long days! I’m glad you can escape with a good book now and then. I bet snuggling up with the pups would help you drift off. the sound of my dog’s soft snores does it for me:)
