Review: Let Me Count the Ways – P.G. Forte

Let me count the ways I loved this story! It is fun and playful, with mature characters who deserve to have love in their lives. Let Me Count the Ways is well written and leaves the reader never knowing what will happen next, yet very eager to learn. P G Forte masterfully brings the reader closer to Clare and Mike as the story unfolds. Even when a terrifying incident brings them closer only to totally tear them apart… All is not lost. Both Clare and Mike are insecure without much of a reason to be. Their encounters go from funny and light, to hot and heavy, to fighting and wanting to never see each other again. Clare meets her accountant […]

Review: Pent Up – Damon Suede

Review: Pent Up – Damon Suede

Pent Up was my March buddy-read with Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee, and as always, it was awesome chatting about the book with her after we both finished reading. I enjoyed the story, and especially that it was diverse in more ways than one. Me: I haven’t completely finished Pent Up yet… I find it very slow, and I’m not sure I like all the jabs at ‘white rich people’… Like there’s a score to be settled OK, I’ve finished… 3.5 stars I think this was less good than Hot Head… And mainly, I think that’s because Ruben and Andy were just the two of them for most of the story – it felt like that made the characters underdeveloped somehow. […]

Review: Love From A to Z – PG Forte

Review: Love From A to Z – PG Forte

Love from A to Z is playful and light, with some darker undertones as well. P. G. Forte’s Love from A to Z is a book about new beginnings and operates on insomnia. When April wakes up on Saturday morning, next to Zach, she has no idea who he or she is. The game here is sex. The reader is immediately immersed in Zach’s playfulness. There are some very visual scenes between April and Zack as they embark on their sexual journey, which set the pages on fire. And somehow the fact that they just met, even how they met, doesn’t lessen the intensity between them. It feels right – at least this reader thinks so. The story also manages […]

Review: The Confessions – Tiffany Reisz

Review: The Confessions – Tiffany Reisz

The Confessions is filled with tidbits of both Søren’s and Nora’s lives, and I loved the priest Ballard… so amazing! Reisz knows how to tell a story, and even the short stories that are shared in The Confessions are amazing! Of course, these would not be for those who haven’t read The Original Sinners series, because nothing would make sense. However, because I have read and loved that series, it was truly a joy to spend a little time with Søren and Ballard, then with Nora and Ballard. I loved how heartfelt their confessions were, and how open they both seemed to be – at two completely different times of their lives. The writing is beautiful and very moving, and […]

Review: Waiting for the Big One – PG Forte

Review: Waiting for the Big One – PG Forte

Waiting for the Big One is a short, sexy and steamy read! It is obvious from the start that Gabe has feelings for Derek. But she is so afraid to lose his friendship that she decides they will stay friends instead of becoming lovers because once that step has been taken, it can’t be taken back. When Zach moves in to Gabe’s building, she finds him intriguing and the fact he’s hot doesn’t hurt, making it easier to think that he could be the One. She even asks Derek for help and ends up doing a strip-tease in front of her window—just across from Zach’s apartment. Quicker than lightning, Zach knocks on her door and some really hot sex ensues. Review: Thirty Nights with a Dirty Boy: Part 1 – Shiloh Walker

Review: Thirty Nights with a Dirty Boy: Part 1 – Shiloh Walker

Thirty Nights with a Dirty Boy was delicious and intriguing, as Walker always manages to include very complex characters, even in her shorter stories. I don’t know how she does it, but Walker manages to draw me in from the start, and Thirty Nights with a Dirty Boy is intriguing, to say the least. Both Ella and Sean are fleshed out and realistic, even if there is an air of mystery surrounding both of them. Ella is accomplished, at least on the outside, she has an organization to help women in trouble, and she’ll soon open up a safe haven for them to help them, the same way she was helped by her mentor in the past. However, beneath the […]

Review: Declaration of Courtship – Nalini Singh

Review: Declaration of Courtship – Nalini Singh

I have missed the psy-changeling universe, and Declaration of Courtship was the perfect cure! Very cleverly done, with an unconventional romance between an alpha lieutenant and a submissive female, I can’t stop smiling at their loving interactions! Singh was so very clever with Declaration of Courtship! I am not always a fan of novellas, because they feel somehow rushed in many ways. At the beginning of this one, however, it was made clear that Cooper and Grace had wanted each other ever since she joined the Snow Dancer pack six months ago. Thus, what might have felt like a rushed romance wasn’t rushed at all, and the story spanned over enough time for the courtship to be delectable. Grace was […]

Review: Unconventional – Avery Aster

Review: Unconventional – Avery Aster

Unconventional is a hot, fun and yes, very unconventional read. Fans of Avery’s Manhattanites will love Unconventional, both because of the humour that is familiar to them and because characters they already know are a part of the story. Rocco and Luigi have been feeling that Jemma has withdrawn from the both in recent months, and while they understand that she has been under a lot of pressure, they want to add a little on their own – they want to marry her and be a family, the three of them together. The story is a little over the top, but it’s hot, and it’s filled with quite a bit of humour, so I quite enjoyed myself! Because I’m not […]

Review: Wicked Lust – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Wicked Lust – Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Lust is so hot my kindle almost melted, and yet, there is also a real story and a plot that is a complete page-turner! Sawyer Bennett has her hot, erotic scenes down pat, I needed an electric fan to cool down so I could continue reading Wicked Lust! And on top of that her characters are multifaceted and complex, the story and the plot well done, and I just couldn’t get enough! There is plenty of very kinky sex, and my eyes almost popped out a few times – but it didn’t shock me enough to stop me from reading 😉 And as I said, there was a real, solid story around all the sexiness, and that made Wicked […]

Review: Harlot – Victoria Dahl

Review: Harlot – Victoria Dahl

Harlot was a very short, hot story, and I think it was a little too short. The story was a bit rushed, and the characters were not exactly complex. Harlot is a good story, and it especially shows how it was difficult for women to be empowered and take charge of their own lives and destinies in the past. When Jessica’s father died and left her with only debts, she didn’t know what to do. The house would have to be sold, as would most of her other possessions. Caleb had been gone for two years already, and she hadn’t heard from him in a long time, and had to find a way to get through this on her own. […]
