Ever since taking Aria under his wing and into his seductive domain, Sebastian hasn’t been able to think straight. Their chemistry is intoxicating. Their power exchange is exhilarating. And the sex leaves them both absolutely exhausted. But if there’s one thing Sebastian does know, it’s that he needs to protect this strong yet vulnerable woman. Because she has depths that are unknown—even to her. Aria has worked hard to establish herself as anything but submissive. That isn’t who she is, or who she wants to be. So why does it feel so sweet to give up control . . . and so intense when Sebastian takes care of needs she doesn’t even realize she has? But he has needs of his own—and secrets that run just as dark and deep as Aria’s.

In Play Me Hard, Aria shows that she can totally be in control, at least out of the bedroom, ultimatums are not at all appreciated by her.

My Play Me Hard review:

When Aria tells Sebastian that she doesn’t respond well to ultimatums, the readers see yet another side to her, and there is more than a hint of something dark hidden in her past. At the same time, during Play Me Hard, Aria feels so confused about Sebastian! He’s everything she always thought she wanted to run from, and here she is, taking orders from him, feeling safe and wanting more.

Sebastian is mostly very sweet, he pours her a bath, takes care of her and shows her nothing but tenderness at the beginning. However, Sebastian also shows that he has a side to him where he is a little heavy-handed in Play Me Hard, because even as he wants to help Aria, he doesn’t think about how his buying her groceries and other necessities might make her feel- especially because he’s both her boss and the guy she just had very hot sex with in the office.

There is a cliffhanger in Play Me Hard, so make sure you have Play Me Real ready for when you finish this one.

Some of my favorite Play Me Hard quotes:

It doesn’t make any sense. We’ve known each other barely thirty-six hours. Yes, we had sex – and it was absolutely the best, most intense sex of my life – but still. That shouldn’t be enough to make things this weird.

Or maybe that’s just the look in Sebastian’s eyes when he watches me. I don’t know, and right now, I’m not sure it matters.

And her attitude is a total turn-on. How can it not be when she’s smart and sassy and doesn’t take shit from anyone? Even me. Especially me.

  1. I’m glad it’s keeping you hooked, Lexxie. I’m interested and I’m wondering if there are going to be any twists. I’m glad Aria can stand up for herself outside the bedroom…I don’t like a heroine who just rolls over. 😉

Happy Friday, my friend!! I hope you’re enjoying your company. (oh, I know you are) Enjoy the rest of your day and have a great weekend! **BIG HUGS**

    • There are definitely some twists, Brandee! I agree, the heroine has to be able to stand up for herself in some ways, and Aria is very interesting.
Happy Friday to you, too! I am loving my company 🙂 It’s so nice to spend some time with my mom 😀 *BIG HUGS*

    • I enjoy reading serials sometimes, because I get a full story in just a few pages, and knowing that there will be more is good, too. I think you’d enjoy both Sebastian and Aria, Lily.

    • Yes, it’s a serial, but I think all the books are released on the same date. I had all five stories ready to be read when I started, and I totally binge-read them! There is a cliffhanger in this one, which is why I wrote my little warning. The others can be read without having the next one on hand, though, Kim.

    • Yes, it’s a serial, Braine. But all the books will be released on the same day. Most of them can be read on their own, but there is a cliffie in this one. I agree, being able to read just a short little story before bed is awesome, and it’s even better when you really enjoy yourself and know there will be more 🙂

  2. After this week’s question post, I’ve decided that I need to branch-out and read more Erotica because clearly I have very limited experience with this genre, and the ones that I have had aren’t exactly the best representations of BDSM. I’ll start with a few novellas like this series, and work my way up from there. Message received about the cliffie.
