(un)Conventionally Backwards – 2017 Favorite Travels Part 2

(un)Conventionally Backwards – 2017 Favorite Travels Part 2

Here’s my second Favorite Travels post about a trip I took to a place where not only I got to discover a new city, but I got to spend some of my time with authors and other readers / bloggers. 2017 Favorite Travels In June, Mr. Lex and I went to Berlin for a long weekend, and not only was it my first time in Berlin, the RARE family had an event there that I had my ticket for. Mr. Lex and I spent a lot of time walking everywhere on the Friday, and on the Saturday, after breakfast, I went to the convention. Here, Mr. Lex and I are in front of Brandenburg Tor in the center of Berlin. […]

(un)Conventionally Backwards – 2017 Favorite Travels Part 1

If you’ve been a frequent visitor to (un)Conventional Bookviews, you know I love to travel. And if I can travel some place while also including my love of all things bookish, I think I’m the happiest blogger around 😉 In 2017, I was lucky enough to travel quite a bit, and three of my trips had to do with books, authors and other bloggers, so they are among my favorite travels. 2017 Favorite Travels In May, I went to Atlanta for the RT Booklovers Convention, and it was so much fun! There were some slight problems with the hotel not expecting bookish people to be so present in the bar, but apart from that, and some elevator troubles, it was […]

(un)Conventionally Backwards – 2017 Favorite Books

(un)Conventionally Backwards – 2017 Favorite Books

As we near the end of they year, I wanted to share some of my different favorites for the year, and what better place to start than with my favorite books? The ones mentioned here might not have been released in 2017, but I read them this year, and they made my favorite shelf. 2017 Favorite Books My Favorite books are in no particular order, but here goes:   Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy #1) by Ilona Andrews. I don’t really have that much to say about this book, other than hey, it’s written by Ilona Andrews – power-couple when it comes to suspenseful paranormal / urban fantasy romances.     White Hot (Hidden Legacy #2) by Ilona Andrews – […]

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #140 – Man Hands

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #140 – Man Hands

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #140 Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post. The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well […]

Audio Review: Becoming Dragon – Eve Langlais

Audio Review: Becoming Dragon – Eve Langlais

Becoming Dragon was a delightful tale, filled with humor, action, steam and more. The narration was well done, and I was so happy to have this to listen to on my commute to and from work. Story: Becoming Dragon is about… you guessed it – dragons! And it’s by Eve Langlais, so I knew I was in for some good laughs. Plus steamy romance, and I also got a rather down to earth and doubting hero. Brandon had been experimented on, and with his DNA sliced, he was in a weird hybrid form that made him think of himself as a monster. Aimi, however, did not find him to be monstrous at all. Quite the opposite, which made for some […]

Audio Review: The Baller – Vi Keeland

Audio Review: The Baller – Vi Keeland

The Baller was a hot story – the sports reporter and the professional football player started off on the wrong foot – but once they got it right, they got it good! Story: Delilah was my kind of character! In The Baller, she was a sports journalist, and she covered football. She thought she was incapable of loving anyone, because of her past, but Brody made her so mad she knew her emotions worked, at least. The first time Brody and Delilah met, she was all ready to interview him. After a game, in the locker room, and to see what she was made of, he dropped his towel. Right before she went on air. Brody was the king of […]

Audio Review: The Negotiator – Avery Flynn

Audio Review: The Negotiator – Avery Flynn

The Negotiator kept me company with laughter and steam on my way to and from work. Fun, hot and feisty, it kept things light. Story: The Negotiator helped me laugh while commuting – which is not that frequent an occurrence really. I leave the house before it’s light out, and arrive very early at work to prepare things. Getting prepared with Sawyer and Clover made everything lighter. Because his mom was always setting him up with socialites, Sawyer and his brother came up with the idea to hire a buffer. One person to keep his mom – and the bridezillas to be – at arm’s length. Only, Sawyer’s brother made sure a fun woman was the most likely candidate. One […]
