Review: Wicked Choice – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Wicked Choice – Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Choice is much more than an erotic romance, there are some important choices the characters have to make. And there is an important theme about how women are often judged much more harshly than men for their choices. Story: Wicked Choice does partly evolve inside the Wicked Horse, but it’s not the most important place or theme of the story. Rachel’s unplanned pregnancy, and the fears she feels about that is the focal point of the story, and I found the way this unfolded to be very realistic. Not all women can imagine being a mother, and that is all fine and good. Rachel kind of did want to be a mother, though, but she was afraid of all […]

Review: Nikan Rebuilt – Scarlett Cole

Review: Nikan Rebuilt – Scarlett Cole

Nikan Rebuilt brought out all the feels. I cried a little. And I laughed quite a lot. I swooned more than once, too. Welcome to my stop on the Nikan Rebuilt review tour – there is a giveaway, my review, and an excerpt from this fantastic story. Nikan Rebuilt definitely proved that to me, as Nikan was still dreaming of Jenny, years after their split. Years after not even knowing where in the world she might be. Until a day when […]

Weekend Wrap-up #219 – And So 2018 Begins

Weekend Wrap-up #219 – And So 2018 Begins

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer. STS #219 Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week: I bought both these books during our trip, I love local myths, and I really want to know what Twain thought of Hawaii when he stayed there, too. The Sunday Post #169 […]

Review: Man Hands – Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

Review: Man Hands – Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

Man Hands brought me from laughing out loud to all hot and bothered in a New York second! (un)Conventionally Quick: Man Hands is a hilarious tale of two jilted people who find each other in a completely unexpected way. It’s a erotic rom-com (yeah, not sure that genre exists, but it sure does fit!) that made me laugh out loud, while feeling all hot and bothered at the same time. I loved both Brynn and Tom. They were hilarious in their own way, and together, they became dynamite! The friendship between Brynn and her best friends made me miss my own friends who don’t live close by. And the inner musings Tom had made me bark with laughter. I just […]

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #141 – Man Hands

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #141 – Man Hands

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #141 Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post. The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well […]

Review: End Game – Lisa Renee Jones

Review: End Game – Lisa Renee Jones

End Game brought a lot of pain to some of the characters, with the aftermath of the incredible cliffhanger in Bad Deeds… I loved the character growth in End Game, the depth this brought to various relationships, and the tension that was so thick it could be cut with a butcher knife. The suspense was breath-taking, and I had trouble sitting still while reading. The emotional pain the characters felt was tangible, and I had no idea how they would get through the incredibly difficult time they were facing. End Game took care of many loose ends, but not all. And there might be a story about one of the side characters from Dirty Money in the future. I, for […]

(un)Conventionally Forwards – 2018 Releases I’m Excited About

(un)Conventionally Forwards – 2018 Releases I’m Excited About

I can’t have backwards posts and not have any that look forward, right? Looking towards the new year is what it’s all about today. 2018 Releases I’m Excited About The title is pretty self-explanatory, and the titles are in no particular order. Here’s some 2018 Releases I can’t wait to read:   Winter Igniting by Rebecca Zanetti is the fifth book in her exciting Scorpio Syndrome series. It’s a post-apocalyptic story, set in the US after a terrifying virus wipes out a big part of the population. It’s very realistic in many ways, and it’s also very character-driven.       I have already had the pleasure of reading Keep Her Safe by KA Tucker, and I have to say, […]

(un)Conventionally Backwards – Best New-to-me Authors 2017

(un)Conventionally Backwards – Best New-to-me Authors 2017

(un)Conventionally Backwards is my look back at 2017, what happened on the blog. Off the blog. What books did I read? Did I find new authors I loved? You know the drill, right? We all seem to look back when we arrive at the end of a year, so that it’ll be easier to look forwards once we start 2018. I read more than one new-to-me author in 2017, and some of them have become new favorites! Here they are, in no particular order – including the book I read that got me ‘hooked’ on them 😉 (un)Conventionally Backwards – New To Me Authors that have become faves: Becky Albertalli is awesome! I read The Upside of Unrequited this year, […]

(un)Conventionally Backwards – 2017 Favorite Travels Part 3

(un)Conventionally Backwards – 2017 Favorite Travels Part 3

Welcome to my third and last favorite travels post! I’ve had a big year when it comes to bookish shenanigans. I’ve discovered new cities, met with a ton of readers, and spent time with some of my favorite authors as well. 2017 Favorite Travels Part 3 In late September, a French publisher organised the second book festival where they introduced US New Adult authors that have had their books translated to French. This year, the convention was in Cannes in the south of France. The awards ceremony took place at the Cannes Festival Palace, where the movie awards take place every year as well. I traveled with my oldest daughter, Amélie, a friend I met thanks to KA Tucker, and […]
