Review: Heroic Abduction – Eve Langlais

Review: Heroic Abduction – Eve Langlais

Purple, strong, hot alien meets headstrong human female who is always ready for a new adventure in Heroic Abduction. My Heroic Abduction review: Dyre is very different from the other purple aliens I’ve come to know through the Alien Abduction series! He’s a mercenary who wants to be a hero, and that brings about many humorous situations in Heroic Abduction. With his inner musings commenting everything from how Betty looks to what he’d rather have her eat instead of her pizza, I was howling with laughter more than once! Traveling through the galaxies searching for one of Betty’s human friends, Dyre, Betty and Zista come into lots of difficult situations where Dyre can prove just how heroic he is. Expect […]

Waiting on Wednesday #24 – Becoming Rain

Waiting on Wednesday #24 – Becoming Rain

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place to showcase a book we’re really looking forward to with bated breath! A new release in our favorite series, an exciting new title from a favorite author… Waiting on Wednesday #24 – Becoming Rain This week, I’m waiting on Becoming Rain. K.A. Tucker is one of my favorite authors, and I can’t wait to see what will happen in this universe where the mafia is very much alive and well. Becoming Rain (Burying Water #2) – K.A. Tucker Luke Boone doesn’t know exactly what his uncle Rust is involved in but he wants in on it-the cars, the money, the […]

Review: Clean Sweep – Ilona Andrews

Review: Clean Sweep – Ilona Andrews

Clean Sweep is the amazing start to yet another awesome series by power-couple Ilona Andrews. Witty, magical and with a strong female character, I loved the way the first story in the Innkeeper Chronicles is so different from their Kate Daniels series. My Clean Sweep review: Dina is a really good character to follow, she has some magic, but it’s mostly chained to the inn she’s the hostess of. And it’s a very special kind of inn, too, in which people of various species come to stay, and where the keeper has to make sure they are safe during the time they are there. With vampires, werewolves, aliens and parallel worlds, Clean Sweep encompasses a whole universe of characters, possibilities […]

2014 TBR Pile Challenge Wrap-up

2014 TBR Pile Challenge Wrap-up

2014 TBR Pile Challenge I signed up for this challenge in January of 2014, and then, I more or less forgot about it :O I have read some of the books that were already in my pile before 2013, though, and so I figured I might as well do a whole year wrap-up post, even if I haven’t done the monthly posts at all. You can check out the rules and other posts about the 2014 TBR Pile Challenge over at Bookish, who is hosting it. I read the following books released before 2014, and I reviewed some of them. I can see a pattern where I am not as good at reviewing books I own as I am […]

Review: A Christmas to Remember – Jill Shalvis et al.

Review: A Christmas to Remember – Jill Shalvis et al.

A Christmas to Remember has five sweet stories about finding love during the Christmas holiday, some really touched my heart. My A Christmas to Remember review: In Jill Shalvis’ Dream a Little Dream, I was swept off my feet! Melissa and Ian already knew each other at the beginning of the story, they had even been friends with benefits for a while, until Ian wanted more. Their history, made their interactions believable, the connection was already there. One of the things I enjoyed the most was the Ian had to save Melissa, and later on, she saved him right back! And their tenderness and chemistry made my heart beat with a steady beat throughout the story that made a very […]

The Sunday Post #10 – A Long Week!

The Sunday Post #10 – A Long Week!

The Sunday Post #10 – Weekly Wrap-up Welcome to my weekly wrap-up post. I am signing up with Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. This week feels like it’s been going on forever! On Monday when I got home from class, I felt great, then suddenly my sinuses started hurting and I felt pretty sick instead. The rest of the week I’ve been fighting a sinus infection, while still having loads of things to do and no real chance for rest. I did manage to read some great books, though, so I guess that’s a nice bonus to a week that wasn’t the best ever. I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping yet, and […]

Review: Magic Strikes – Ilona Andrews

Review: Magic Strikes – Ilona Andrews

With her trademark humor and magical skills, Kate Daniels made Magic Strikes yet another winner! My Magic Strikes review: Kate Daniels continues her amazing adventures, her services are almost always needed in several places at once and she will do her best to help save the day. Magic Strikes is fast-paced and brings Kate into some pretty tough situations. The Midnight Games are the ultimate place for shifters and magical beings to fight for a prize, and somehow, Kate gets herself onto a team with some of her shifter friends in order to save a girl for Derek. Saiman plays quite a big part in Magic Strikes, and it was quite nice to get to know him better, strange that […]
