Blogtour and Giveaway: Caress of Darkness

Blogtour and Giveaway: Caress of Darkness

Welcome to my stop on the Caress of Darkness tour! I have an excerpt to share with you, and there’s a tour-wide international giveaway as well. Caress of Darkness – Julie Kenner From the first moment I saw him, I knew that Rainer Engel was like no other man. Dangerously sexy and darkly mysterious, he both enticed me and terrified me. I wanted to run–to fight against the heat that was building between us–but there was nowhere to go. I needed his help as much as I needed his touch. And so help me, I knew that I would do anything he asked in order to have both. But even as our passion burned hot, the secrets in Raine’s past […]

Review: The Navy SEAL’s Christmas Bride – Cora Seton

Review: The Navy SEAL’s Christmas Bride – Cora Seton

There is a little bit of everything in The Navy SEAL’s Christmas Bride; humour, romance, hotness, silliness and some very competitive characters to drive the story forward. My The Navy SEAL’s Christmas Bride review: First of all, I have to say that my visit to Crescent Hall was a very pleasant one! From the very beginning, it was easy to see that Dan and Sarah were going to compete about everything, and it was really funny to read about how far they went to make sure they could show of who was stronger than the other. I found it especially funny that Sarah had been competing like this her whole life, and if she had been a man, she’d probably […]

Review: This Shattered World – Amie Kaufmann and Meagan Spooner

Review: This Shattered World – Amie Kaufmann and Meagan Spooner

This Shattered World continues the Starbound adventure in a beautiful and fulfilling way! The characters, the worldbuilding and the story are all amazingly well done. My This Shattered World review: In This Shattered World, the readers are taken to another terraformed planet, one that doesn’t progress the way it’s supposed to, and where the army is needed to keep order and a fragile peace. There are rebels hiding in the swamps, and they are apt at coming and going without being noticed. The story starts out very strong, with the army captain Lee in the local bar with some of her soldiers. And she is kidnapped from right under their noses once she realizes that a guy who is checking […]

Waiting on Wednesday #23 – Holding Strong

Waiting on Wednesday #23 – Holding Strong

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place to showcase a book we’re really looking forward to with bated breath! A new release in our favorite series, an exciting new title from a favorite author…  Waiting on Wednesday #23 – Holding Strong Holding Strong (Ultimate #2) – Lori Foster   Heavyweight fighter Denver Lewis plays real nice, but he doesn’t share. That’s why he’s been avoiding top-notch flirt Cherry Peyton. But a man can only resist those lush curves for so long. Their encounter surpasses all his fantasies, bringing out protective urges that Cherry’s about to need more than she knows… Denver’s combination of pure muscle and unexpected […]

Review: Status – J.A. Huss

Review: Status – J.A. Huss

Status is fast-paced, and there are a lot of things happening in the story, there is excitement, forgiveness, happiness, and new anger… My Status review: Grace is a very stubborn girl, but Vaughn is an ever more stubborn boy, so in Status, we are treated to a lot of back-and-forth between them, especially Grace is very reticent for a long time. At the beginning of Status, she is running away with Kirsti, as they both just need some time away from the craziness of the press, and to think things through before they continue the roller-coaster their lives has become. And I have to say I really enjoyed the friendship between Kirsti and Grace – I think they both needed […]

Review: The Beautiful Ashes – Jeaniene Frost

Review: The Beautiful Ashes – Jeaniene Frost

The Beautiful Ashes is a good foray into Young Adult by one of my favourite authors! Using a different kind of paranormal, while developing both the characters and the story on the go, I was caught in the net Ms. Frost weaved for me. My The Beautiful Ashes review: The Beautiful Ashes is a fast-paced story, written in first person point of view, past tense, from Ivy’s perspective. She hasn’t had just a bad day, she’s had a bad month, and at the start of the story, it seems to just be getting worse! Ivy can see other dimensions superimposed on the dimension here on Earth, and her whole life she has thought she was hallucinating, and that what she […]

It’s so nice to be able to touch it, see it, and know that I’ve been able to sign up to be a substitute teacher now. I’ll hopefully be able to find a position for about four hours per week in a high-school close to my home starting in January. Can you tell how excited I am? We don’t do the capes and hats here in Switzerland, but we did […]
