Review: Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) – Cassandra Clare

Review: Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) – Cassandra Clare

The Clockwork Princess starts with a prologue, and ends with an epilogue. Especially the prologue feels a little out of place, and even if it made sense to mention what happens there, it also confused me and made it take longer before I made it into the actual story. Usually, if there is either a prologue or an epilogue, it’s to add important information to the story that doesn’t really fit into the main-frame, however, especially the prologue felt too out of place, and the epilogue could have easily been a part of the actual story. Clockwork Princess picks up very shortly after the end of Clockwork Prince, and Jem is still not doing very well. Will is still being […]

Review: Temptation – Kathryn Barrett

Review: Temptation – Kathryn Barrett

*I received a free ARC of Temptation from Entangled Publishing via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Temptation is a beautiful story, about temptation, courage and love. Laura arrives in Pennsylvania to film her next movie, and little does she know how much temptation she will find in Amish country. When she first meets Jacob, she only wants to order a crib for her niece, and she notices how much he is a man – even if he is very different from all the men she has met before. Review: Inferno (Chronicles of Nick #4) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Inferno (Chronicles of Nick #4) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Inferno is the fourth book in the Chronicles of Nick series, and it brought the whole story back on track for me. I wasn’t all that happy with Infamous, because that felt too much like a filler than an actual novel to me. With Inferno, though, my love for Nick and the whole Dark Hunter world made sense again, even if I’m still not completely happy with the time-travel aspect of the story. Yes, yes, I know, it’s fiction, and time travel cannot even happen in the real world. But still, most stories that deal with time travel follow some time/space continuum rules, that are not followed in the Chronicles of Nick, and it confuses me! Subscribe to Blog via […]

On his way to the lodge, Mitch stops at the diner, surprised to see it up and running – with a new name to boot. Review: The Reluctant Reaper (The Reluctant Reaper #1) – Gina X. Grant

*I received a free ARC of The Reluctant Reaper from Pocket Star via Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review* On the night of her 25th birthday, Kristy’s life as she knows it takes a huge turn for the worse, or maybe actually better. As her soul is reaped by mistake, her body is in a coma, and she is brought to the Netherworld by Dante. The Reluctant Reaper is filled with 80s and 90s references that truly had me laughing out loud, and the wordplay is masterfully done. There is a lot of it, and I had trouble choosing what to quote in my review! Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog […]

Review: The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride – Cora Seton

*I received a free ARC of The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride from One Acre Press via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review*. The Cowboy’s E-Mail Order Bride is a story filled with tangled messes, lies, new love, romance and promise of a better life. A quick read, it really appealed to me! Ethan’s resolve to send Autumn back to New York on the next flight falters when he sees her – she is everything he has ever dreamt of in a woman. Autumn’s heart starts beating faster when her eyes lands on Ethan, but she is […]

Review: Twice Tempted (Night Prince #2) – Jeaniene Frost

Review: Twice Tempted (Night Prince #2) – Jeaniene Frost

Twice Tempted is book #2 in the Night Prince series, and it continues showing how complex Vlad is, and what Leila needs to be happy living in his castle. I love how controlling Vlad has always seemed to me, yet with Leila there is something more soft and caring about him. But there are some concessions he won’t make though – saying ‘I love you’ is one of them. Showing the difference between Leila and Vlad based on their life experience, and Leila doesn’t have her powers anymore at the beginning of Twice Tempted, and it seems to her that since she lost her powers, Vlad has lost interest in her. She is sad, and doesn’t know what to do […]
