Audiobook Challenge 2015

2015 Audiobook Challenge Wrap-up

This was the first year I participated in the challenge, and also the first year I really got into listening to audiobooks. I still didn’t meet my goal, though, even if it was quite low – 12 books which is only one per month.

The ones I did manage to listen to were really good, though, and I enjoyed them! Some of the narrators I’ve got to ‘meet’ thanks to the challenge were so good! I think my favorite is still Bahni Turpin, she narrates the Downside Ghosts series, because not only does she have an amazing voice that she’s able to change so it sounds either female or male, she has the downside dialect down pat, too, and that just makes my enjoyment of the series even better.

2015 Audiobook Challenge books I listened to :

  1. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
  2. Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane
  3. Shards of Hope by Nalini Singh
  4. Rock Courtship by Nalini Singh
  5. Audio Review: Tragic – J.A. Huss
  6. Archangel’s Enigma by Nalini Singh

It is a completely different experience to listen to a book rather than reading it myself, and I have enjoyed being able to color, do housework, or just go for a walk while also being immersed in a story. And I want to thank Melanie @ Hot Listens and Jennifer @ The Book Nympho for hosting the challenge! They are both huge audio fans, and I hope I’ll do better next year;)

  1. This sounds like fun! I tend to go through spurts with audiobooks. I like to do re-reads this way and just made my way through Dragonfly in Amber last week. I am proud that I finished that 39 hour monster. It is great to listen in the car or while walking the dogs. I am like you in that I read faster than I can listen so I sometimes decide to just read the book. I think you did great with 6! Thanks for sharing this – I may have to join in for 2016

  2. You know, you and Berls are responsible for *making* me give audio a try. It took awhile for me to get used to listening to a book rather than reading it. But I’ve managed to figure it out while driving and cleaning. 😀 I even revisited Sterling in audio so jog my memory so I can dive back into that series. 😉 I’m glad you managed to listen to some reads even if you didn’t reach your goal, Lex. <3 **BIG HUGS**

    • Ha! As if we could *make you* do anything 😀 I’m really happy you’ve had so much fun with audios this year, Brandee! I have trouble listening while driving, as I become so immersed in the story I have taken a wrong turn off the highway.
      I hope I’ll do better in 2016 🙂
