2015 Audiobook Challenge Wrap-up
This was the first year I participated in the challenge, and also the first year I really got into listening to audiobooks. I still didn’t meet my goal, though, even if it was quite low – 12 books which is only one per month.
The ones I did manage to listen to were really good, though, and I enjoyed them! Some of the narrators I’ve got to ‘meet’ thanks to the challenge were so good! I think my favorite is still Bahni Turpin, she narrates the Downside Ghosts series, because not only does she have an amazing voice that she’s able to change so it sounds either female or male, she has the downside dialect down pat, too, and that just makes my enjoyment of the series even better.
2015 Audiobook Challenge books I listened to :
- Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
- Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane
- Shards of Hope by Nalini Singh
- Rock Courtship by Nalini Singh
- Audio Review: Tragic – J.A. Huss
- Archangel’s Enigma by Nalini Singh
It is a completely different experience to listen to a book rather than reading it myself, and I have enjoyed being able to color, do housework, or just go for a walk while also being immersed in a story. And I want to thank Melanie @ Hot Listens and Jennifer @ The Book Nympho for hosting the challenge! They are both huge audio fans, and I hope I’ll do better next year;)
This is the first time I did this challenge to, and I really loved it! I did meet my goal, but I’ve been listening to audiobooks for years. I’m glad you enjoy them.
Yes, I do enjoy them, but I would love to actually listen to more. I’m an extremely fast reader, though, so audiobooks tend to take longer for me to finish.

I love Bahni Turpin. She is a great one. I need to find more of her books besides Downside Ghosts. I’m hoping that another Downside book will come out soon, but I haven’t heard anything. Glad to have you back for 2016.
I have bought an audiobook solely because she was the narrator, Melanie. I’m really hoping there will be another Downside book out, too.
6 is better than none.
That’s true, Jennifer 🙂 and I really plan on doing better for next year!

So you didn’t make your goal, but you did a good job. Got half way through it. 🙂 Good job!
Thank you, Stormi! You are right, and you definitely made me feel better!
I enjoy audibles too. Like you mention, you can be doing busy work while listening. I often turn on the TV to a favorite show so I can listen without having to watch it while I do other things. I have a small list of audibles which I hope to get to during the holiday break.
It’s nice to have a good story to keep me company when I do the stuff I have to do, but don’t really want to do 😉
This sounds like fun! I tend to go through spurts with audiobooks. I like to do re-reads this way and just made my way through Dragonfly in Amber last week. I am proud that I finished that 39 hour monster. It is great to listen in the car or while walking the dogs. I am like you in that I read faster than I can listen so I sometimes decide to just read the book. I think you did great with 6! Thanks for sharing this – I may have to join in for 2016
I use audios for re-reads, too. It’s a great excuse to re-visit favorites! I have listened to some books I hadn’t read before, too, though, and that was amazing!
You should definitely join, Carole, it’s a great challenge 🙂
You know, you and Berls are responsible for *making* me give audio a try. It took awhile for me to get used to listening to a book rather than reading it. But I’ve managed to figure it out while driving and cleaning. 😀 I even revisited Sterling in audio so jog my memory so I can dive back into that series. 😉 I’m glad you managed to listen to some reads even if you didn’t reach your goal, Lex. <3 **BIG HUGS**
Ha! As if we could *make you* do anything 😀 I’m really happy you’ve had so much fun with audios this year, Brandee! I have trouble listening while driving, as I become so immersed in the story I have taken a wrong turn off the highway.
I hope I’ll do better in 2016 🙂

You still did quite well, even if you didn’t meet your original goal! I’ve tried to listen to audiobooks but I just can’t focus enough! haha
I focus too much… but as I’m such a fast reader it’s just quicker to read myself 🙂
