Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #256
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Thank you Lisa Renée Jones and Belle Brooks!
I received this beautiful paperback edition of Jane Eyre from my Secret Santa in a reader’s Facebook Group I’m in. I love it 🙂 And of course, I love Jane Eyre – but I’m going to read it again now that I have this gorgeous edition to adorn my shelves.
The Sunday Post #206 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I’m sorry I’ve been MIA these past few weeks, I’ve been completely swamped. Creating end of semester exams, meetings, my classes at Uni, and my own exams have left me with no energy. I’m happy to say that things will slow down a little bit now, and there are only two more weeks left until Christmas vacation. Both my kids and I are impatient to get some much needed time off. The dogs have kept me sane, on the few occasions I was able to take an afternoon nap, they napped with me 😀
Tonight, my oldest and I are going to see Bohemian Rapsody, then have dinner together. I can’t wait!
This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books has a great post about Five Ways to Miss Books.
Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

enjoy bohemian rhapsody! kinda. I saw a giveaway on one of the facebook groups i’m following for Verity. CAn’t wait for your review too
Thanks Ailyn, I’m sure we will! I have heard good things about it 🙂
I had Verity on pre-order, so it was automatically delivered to my kindle – it’s my next read.
Yeah work was crazy for me this past week as well! Next week doesn’t look much better either. I’m ready for a break myself, but sadly we don’t get those at work! Lol! Glad you have a break that’s coming up soon though! Those are necessary!
Nice new reads! Totally new to me ones! I hope you enjoy them all!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I’m sorry you won’t get a break soon, Jessica! The period before Christmas is always stressful, I think everyone should get a real break afterwards 🙂
I hope you’re having a nice, relaxing weekend!
Busy, busy, busy!
Yes, but at least now, I can see the end of the tunnel 🙂
I figured between teaching and your own studies that you would be flying low for a while. 🙂 Glad its going to get a little slower for you soon. Neat that you’re doing movie and dinner with your oldest.
Very nice haul you’ve got and that is a pretty cover for Jane Eyre. I love that one, too.
Cuddling with the dogs for a nap sounds good. Have a good weekend, Lexxie!
I’m glad nobody has too many expectations of me these days, Sophia 🙂
The movie was so good! And now, I’m listening to Queen while I blog and do homework 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
I wish you sanity for the next two weeks and then a wonderful vacation!
Thank you Nina! That actually made me feel better!

What an interesting cover choice for that Jane Eyre edition! I feel like it’s almost a spoiler 🙂
Haha Evelina 🙂 That’s funny!
I hope things settle down soon! I know finals towards the end of the year can make life so hectic and stressful. I love your pup photos and their names are adorable!
Things will settle down after the 21st, so at least now I can see the end of the tunnel, Sabrina 🙂
Thanks 🙂 We love the pup names, too, even if we never imagined Hercules would become so much bigger than Freddy – we wonder if it’s partly because of his name ;9
Life has been crazy for me too! I am just trying to hang on until Christmas break! At least I don’t have uni classes too. Yikes!
Enjoy Bohemian Rhapsody!
I know! We hang on with whatever we have to hang on with.
I don’t teach full time, thank goodness, but I wish my uni classes were over.
Bohemian Rhapsody was AWESOME!
I hope you enjoy dinner and the movie. This time of year is nuts. All of my teacher friends are looking forward to Christmas vacation. Have a great week!
The move was so, so good. We both loved it. Now, Queen is on, and I’m working and blogging 😀
I know this time of year is difficult for everyone – not just teachers and students. I always wonder why we do this to ourselves.
Thanks for stopping by Aj 🙂
Good luck with the end of the semester. It’s good that pups could keep you sane. Looks like you are going to get CoHoed. It’s been too long since I read one of her books. I need to get one soon.
Thanks Sam 🙂 Yeah, the pups and my family keep me sane these days.
I got totally CoHoed with Verity! It’s a romantic thriller, and it’s very eerie, creepy and disturbing. Nothing like her usual books at all!
I hope you enjoy Bohemian Rhapsody- I can’t wait to see it! And wow you have been busy! Hope you have a nice and super relaxing break when it gets here. 🙂
Freddy and Hercules look quite chilled and happy there haha!
Bohemian Rhapsody was amazing, Greg! I even cried a little bit in places…
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Sounds great. Take the time you need. Your books are there for you! I hope all the exams go well. Anne – Books of My Heart
Thank goodness my books won’t leave me if I don’t give them enough love 😉
You sure sound ready for that vacation:) Have a great night out!
I am so ready it’s the only thing that helps me get out of bed in the morning!!
Exams tend to suck the energy out of you at the best of times but this time of the year is just more stress! Good luck with the exams! Snuggling with your pups must be relaxing though!
That is a gorgeous cover of Jane Eyre! I also got a copy of Verity, and I hope to love it.
Have a great week…enjoy those adorable puppies…and some down time. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

You have been so busy! I miss you! <3
I took off the last week in December and I can't wait. This year has been so crazy and I can't wait for the break.
I hope this week is awesome for you, Lexxie! I miss your face! Happy Reading! ox
Heisann!
A lot of people bought Verity this week! Bookish minds think alike? I’ve only tried one of Colleen Hoover’s books, but it wasn’t a good fit for me. I still plan on reading another one of her books in the future, because everyone is always raving about her stories. I hope you have a lovely week!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
Yeah it is a crazy time, I have been so busy with all the end of year posts I do this time of year. But the last week of December I take a break from blogging so that will be nice. Hope you get some time to relax with your family!!! Happy Christmas
I hope you enjoy dinner and a movie tonight! I’m also already looking forward to a few days off 🙂
Oh, Jane Eyre – I could reread it all the time. I also recently got gifted a gorgeous edition of Jane Eyre too.
The pups seem to enjoy the sun!
Have a wonderful time watching Bohemian Rhapsody together, Lexxie@:)). It’s a mad time of year – I’m lucky enough to have now finished my term and now just have to make a start on my Christmas chores… Hopefully this week will be a bit more relaxing!

I hope things slow down a bit for you. I’ll bet those afternoon naps are nice, when you can get them in. I really want to see Bohemian Rhapsody.

Oh hey! I didn’t even notice that you shared my post at first! Thank youuuu 🙂 <3
I hope you enjoyed the movie and napping with the puppers is the best.

Oops – wrong link there – I was copying that for something else lol
Karen @ For What It’s Worth
I hope you survive all the busy times that you’re going through! But hey, it’s almost holiday time. I hope you enjoy Jane Eyre, I like that classic a lot. And also I got Maybe Now as well because I couldn’t help stealing that freebie!
Yeah, freebies are always necessary. My kindle is filled with freebies I got way back when I got my first kindle. But it’s nice to discover one of those treasures every now and then 🙂
