Weekend Wrap-up #239 – The #BookExpo Edition

Posted 9 June, 2018 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 39 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS / BB&B - (un)Conventional bookviews

STS #239

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

From BookExpo, I came home with 87 books, and I have to say I’m very happy with my haul. There are so many books I want to read straight away, but these are the ones I’m the most excited about :

And here are the rest of the books I got – if you click on the pic, you’ll get to my BookExpo 2018 shelf on Goodreads:

I did get some other ARCs as well, but I’m going to list them next week, because this is enough for one post, right?The Sunday Post - (un)Conventional Bookviews

The Sunday Post #189 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I got back from New York on Sunday morning last week, and I was happy to get home – even if I had a fantastic time! I even met some bloggers I’ve been interacting with in the past, Grace from Grace’s Books of Love, Tamara from Shelf Addiction, and Karen from Kissin Blue Karen. It was really nice to see some faces I knew from before among all the other booklovers at the Javitz.

This weekend, I’ll be in Oslo, just for the two days, for my niece’s Christening. I look forward to seeing my whole family – including cousins and aunts and uncles, as we don’t really get to see each other very often.

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Freddy refuses to be photographed this week, as he has a cone of shame due to an infection on his chest… But here’s Hercules for you 😉

  2. Holy Cow, Lexxie! You are going to be a reading machine with that stack. So many good ones that you’ll be dizzy picking what to read first. Glad you had a good time and got back safely. Enjoy the family reunion and your sweet niece’s special day. Poor Freddy!

    Now, I need to go peruse your stack of books. 🙂

  3. Daaaaang Lexxie!! You got a LOT of books! Did you bring extra luggage in anticipation of all those?! Lol! I soooo cannot wait to read The Darkest Star and Imprison the Sky–which I hopefully should get a review copy soon since I’m on the Street Team again! I did get to read Shadow of the Fox thanks to Netgalley and it was AWESOME!! Already dying for book 2, because in true Julie fashion she leaves a whopper of a cliffhanger! Lol! I’m curious about Charlaine’s new book too! I still want to finish her Midnight Texas trilogy, only read the first one last year. Need to read quicker. Or somehow live without sleep! Lol! That’s the real dream right there! Then I could totally dismantle my TBR pile!

    Hope Freddy is doing well with his Cone of Shame. Even though he is smaller, watch your legs. Our one dog delights in whacking ours when we put his CoS on! Lol!! Happy Reading this week!

    My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

  4. Lexxie, I could only DREAM of being able to attend the BEA. Do you just line up for anyone’s books and get it all free?

    I can’t believe there’s already an ARC for Julie Kagawa’s new series! Excited for Tamareh Mafi’s new book and wow this is the first time I’ve heard of this new book by Charlaine Harris.

    Excellent haul!

  5. Now that’s a lot of books! LOL Looks like you had fun. I hope Freddy feels better soon. I bet Hercules is confused about his cone. LOL Enjoy your time in Oslo with the family.

  6. I can only echo all the other commenters thoughts, Wow! Wonderful haul of books and even if you don’t get to all of them, you’re still set for reading material for a long, long time!

    I feel for Freddy and his awful cone! I’ve had 3 dog surgeries in the past few years and they had to wear the cone. I think I felt worse than even they did with it on 🙁 I was so sad for their discomfort… one of my dogs refused to eat or drink with it on, but to keep replacing it after meals led to much struggles!

    Have a great week ahead!

  7. 87 books!! Oh my word… It would take me the best part of 9 months to read that number! I’m glad you had such a lovely time in New York and I hope you have a lovely time in Oslo – christenings are always such joyful occasions. Have a great week, Lexxie and I hope Freddy feels better very soon.

    Wow you did GOOD! or BAD? LOL 😉 I’m glad you had a good time – did you get to see Michelle while you were in her neck of the woods?

    Have a great time with the family, that’s awesome. Enjoy being a lazy blogger, we all have to do it sometimes!!! I’m coming off a lazy MONTH because I had way too much going on at work.

    Miss you! {{HUGS}}

  9. I’m making serious heart eyes at your BEA haul! I have Mirage and NG arcs for Shadow of the Fox and Grace & Fury—they all sound so good! So happy to hear that it was a fun weekend 🙂 Hope you have a great week Lexxie!

  10. I’m very excited over a few of those books you’re most excited over, wifey! Can you guess which ones?!? 😉 I hope Freddy is feeling better and I hope you enjoyed your weekend with family in Norway. I miss you!! LOVE & {{{BIG HUGS}}}

    • BEA was awesome, even if I missed you an awful lot! It wasn’t the same to not have my blogger friends with me, that’s for sure!
      I wish I felt like blogging more, but I’ve had so much to do at work lately, and reading is the only thing I feel like doing once I have some ‘me’-time :9
