Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place to showcase a book we’re really looking forward to with bated breath! A new release in our favorite series, an exciting new title from a favorite author…
Waiting on Wednesday #49
Today, I’m waiting on Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone. It will be released next week, so for once, the wait will be quite short. I just read two reviews for it, and that made me more excited… you can check out Lyn’s five star review, and Lily’s 3.5 star review if you’re interested 😉
If you could read my mind, you wouldn’t be smiling.
Samantha McAllister looks just like the rest of the popular girls in her junior class. But hidden beneath the straightened hair and expertly applied makeup is a secret that her friends would never understand: Sam has Purely-Obsessional OCD and is consumed by a stream of dark thoughts and worries that she can’t turn off.
Second-guessing every move, thought, and word makes daily life a struggle, and it doesn’t help that her lifelong friends will turn toxic at the first sign of a wrong outfit, wrong lunch, or wrong crush. Yet Sam knows she’d be truly crazy to leave the protection of the most popular girls in school. So when Sam meets Caroline, she has to keep her new friend with a refreshing sense of humor and no style a secret, right up there with Sam’s weekly visits to her psychiatrist.
Caroline introduces Sam to Poet’s Corner, a hidden room and a tight-knit group of misfits who have been ignored by the school at large. Sam is drawn to them immediately, especially a guitar-playing guy with a talent for verse, and starts to discover a whole new side of herself. Slowly, she begins to feel more “normal” than she ever has as part of the popular crowd . . . until she finds a new reason to question her sanity and all she holds dear.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic Wednesday! Don’t forget to leave me a link in your comment so I can come and check out your Waiting on Wednesday post, too.

I gave it 4 stars. It is definitely something different and I just love that this matter was written for the YA community so that they can understand a bit more of OCD, and adults as well. I really recommend it 🙂
Nice! I’m glad to see books that deal with more serious topics, too, Genesis, and I hope I’ll enjoy Every Last Word!
Only good things have been said about this book in my reading circles. You are so lucky too, not a very long wait until you can read this one. 🙂
Beth @ Perpetual New Girl
True, for once I’ve been able to choose a book that’ll be released pretty soon 🙂
I really like this books simple cover and it also sounds great!
Thank you for sharing 🙂 Sharon – Obsession with Books
I agree, Sharon, it’s nice that more books are using understated covers!
People who say they have OCD when they like cleanliness is annoying.
My Waiting on Wednesday
Yeah, like it would be a treat to actually have OCD…
This is new to me, but I’m already intrigued and I think you know why . . . Glad you won’t have to wait too long for it, Lexxie! 🙂
Yeah, I definitely know why, Silvia 🙂 I’m really looking forward to this, and happy I won’t have to wait too long.
I think this sounds really good. I’ve been seeing more teen novels lately dealing with issues like OCD and anxiety which I think is a good trend and will hopefully help any teen readers who are dealing with those issues.
I agree, Christina, having YA books that deal with more serious issues is great! To see a character who deals with something that’s slightly taboo can make us all a little more empathetic.
Nice! Seeing a lot of this one today! Hope you enjoy it too!
Here’s my WoW
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Maybe we’ve all read the same reviews, Jessica 😉
Can’t wait to read this one!
🙂 I hope we’ll both enjoy it, Bieke.
I just read a review for this that mentioned some good emotional pulls. I look forward to some of that!
YAY Suzi 🙂 Hopefully, we’ll both feel the same way when we get to read it 🙂
I´m also waiting for this book, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it 😉 Jeg bare elsker Tamara Ireland Stones bøker, og håper de blir oversatt til norsk også etter hvert.
Loved this one and hope you do too and get a chance to read it soon.
Oh, yet another positive view on Every Last Word! Now I’m even more impatient, Brandi.
I’m hearing nothing but good things about this one. Can’t wait to check it out.
My WOW

I’m so glad I’m not alone, Claire 🙂
This book is new to me, but I hope you love it!
I have heard of this author but never read anything by her. This book sounds good!
My Wow
Lexxie i’m so excited for you to read this book. Hopefully you get your hands on it ASAP! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts 🙂
Also, thank for the mention 🙂
I really love that cover! I hope you enjoy reading it!
Great choice! I am looking forward to this one too because I loved Tamara Ireland Stone’s Time Between Us. It’s one of my favorites.
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
It sounds like a great read. No matter if a kid is in the popular crowd or a ‘misfit’, every kid I’ve met feels like an outsider at times. It’s great that she finds a place she feels like she better belongs. I also like the OCD and visiting a psychiatrist aspect. Great pick 😀
AWW!! Thank you for linking my review! I really hope you like it – the book went above and beyond for the material!! I really can’t wait to see your own review.
