Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #65

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

Today, I’m sharing a hungry hearts quote from Jana Aston’s hilarious Right! Everly was a hoot, and I loved reading her story! This quote is partly why 😉

My Hungry Hearts quote:

I spot a tent selling bratwursts and drag Sawyer over.
“When I said dinner I meant a reservation at Del Frisco’s” he says, looking a little bewildered by my request.
I shake my head. “Can you cancel it? I want to stay here and eat brats standing up in a crowd of people,” I plead.
He agrees, and I order two brats, mustard only for both of us. He steps back with his hands up when I elbow in front of him to pay.
“Sorry, I had to buy you dinner,” I explain while I unwrap half of my brat, like a burrito.
“Why’s that?” he asks, taking a bite of his.
“MY roommate insisted it’s the polite thing to do before I fuck you.” I say it just loud enough for him to hear. He clears his throat, mid chew, then swallows before speaking. A slow, sexy grin follows before he speaks.
“Will you call me in the morning?” His eyes flicker with amusement.
“No.” I shake my head slowly.

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

  1. That was hilarious! I had my first brat when I went to college in Wisconsin. Didn’t know what I was missing until then. 😉

  2. Oh boy do I love this book! And that moment…it was so funny! We didn’t have brats but we had hotdogs…and we survived the morning after. 😉 **BIG HUGS**
