Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookworms. So many of the books we read have food or drinks in them, some we’d love to try, and others we’d never ever want to taste… and we thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab our logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to us in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

My quote this week is once again from Kristen Ashley’s Free. You gotta love a man who knows what you need and when you need it. *Sigh*

“Want a beer?” he asked.
I wanted a tequila.
Without me saying a word, but watching me closely, he amended, “Want a beer with a tequila chaser?”
Okay, his apparent ability to read my mind was just freaking me out.
“Door number two,” I told him, moving to his freestanding counter before asking, “I know we left her twenty minutes ago, but do you mind if I call Essence? Check in. Make sure she’s groovy? I haven’t had the chance to fully explain things and it’s kinda time I did that.”
And seeing as a dead woman was shoved out of a car in front of her house, that was the understatement of the year.

I pulled my phone out of my purse, tossed the purse on his countertop, then slid my ass on one of this stools as I watched him twist the top off brews while heading my way.
He put one in front of me and I murmured, “Thanks, Rush,” got a gentle look from those amazing crystal-blue eyes and then he moved to a cupboard.
I gave my attention to my phone.
Rush had a bottle of Herradura on the counter with two shot glasses and was standing opposite me when Essence picked up.

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

Another can’t miss book that I still have on the reading agenda.

Ah, a fun drinking scene. 🙂

  2. So love this meme. I have seen some foods in books that just make my mouth water lol. This quote is perfect too. I am not a drinker at all but I love it when a man really knows a lady to the point of just being able to tell what she is in the mood for at that moment without her saying anything. Fantastic post ?

  3. Even though I don’t drink, I LOVE drinking scenes and I need to read this for sure. I just love anything this author writes. Thanks for sharing, gave me a smile.

  4. I haven’t had a tequila in years. They were never my favourite thing. This sounds like a fun scene. I’m intrigued about the dead woman being shoved out of a car.
