Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #7

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

Today, my quotes are from my recent read Fair Game in Patricia Brigg’s Alpha & Omega series. There isn’t all that many yummy things to eat, but I was literally laughing out loud when Bran made pancakes for Charles and Anna…

“The fae have retreated to their reservations,” Da said as he served Anna pancakes. His da liked to make pancakes for breakfast, but the deer-shaped ones were a new thing. Charles tried not to analyze his father when he could avoid it.
[…]

Charles put down his fork. Anna, being Anna, took the spatula out of his da’s hand and tugged him down to sit with them. She didn’t say anything, just piled up some pancakes on a plate, poured maple syrup over them, and handed them to his da.
[…]

Charles smiled and took a bite of his deer pancake. It tasted just fine.

Have you found any fun, yummy or gross food or drinks quotes lately? Please do share 😉

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a terrific Thursday!

  1. Mmmm Pancakes. One of my all time breakfast (anytime) treats. So that gives me next week’s addition. I just finished Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley – One of the absolute best novels I’ve read in a very long time – Tack is pretty good with pancakes… so look for breakfast next week. 🙂 But this week you get cakes and a very sexy chef 😉

    • I agree, pancakes are just the best! And I need to read more Kristen Ashley! I have several of her books playing hide and seek on my kindle.
I’m going to come look for those cakes and the very sexy chef, Marsha 🙂

  2. *haha* Deer-shaped pancakes! I’m really looking forward to meeting Charles and Anna, Lexxie! Let’s see… I recently finished Secrets Vol 1 by HM Ward and there was a really cute scene where Anna and Cole have dinner with her parents. A dinner of sausages and man-n-cheese. Anna’s dad is talking animatedly while holding a sausage on his fork – the sausage flies off and hits Anna in the face. This scene had me giggling since that was *not* the way to impress Cole! *haha*

    • I’m so happy I’m not the only one trying recipes or food-stuff I read about, Mandy. Thanks for joining me today 🙂
