Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #6
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, I’m sharing several quotes from Nalini Singh’s upcoming Rock Hard, which will be released next week. It’s a part of her Rock Kiss series, and there are so many food references to share , even if I’m only 25% in. Between baked goods, delicious vietnamese cooking and innuendos about food, I hardly know where to begin!
Tonight, however, she had a date with the oven, she was itching to try out her new recipe for banana-nut cupcakes with buttercream frosting.
Worried, she went to the break room and poured him a glass of milk. Then, taking an apple-cinnamon danish from the airtight container of goodies, she’d brought with her form her cooking class, she put it on a saucesr and carried both into his office. […] Coming to the doorway, he bit into the pastry with its flawlessly glazed top and delicate filling. […] “Mmm.” A deep sound of pleasure that melted things inside her it had no business melting. “This is fucking amazing.”
Have you read anything including something yummy or gross to eat or drink lately? Please do share!
Have a terrific Thursday and happy reading 🙂
Oh my, that sounds absolutely amazing. Banana-nut cupcakes with buttercream frosting – delicious 🙂
It does sound amazing, doesn’t it? I wish there was a recipe in the story so I could have tried it out 🙂
Mmmm… cupcakes. But it’s snowing out – will I walk to the bakery through snow for cupcakes. Mmmaybe.
I just finished a novel where the vampire main characters always could identify others by their smell – I was assaulted by warm bread with butter, cinnamon and sweet cookie dough throughout the reading. 🙂 Needless to say, I snacked a bit during the reading of that one.

Okay, hunky men makes me HUNGRY and THIRSTY. Does that count?
Of course that counts, Braine.. but I need some quotes to go with those hunky men 😉
I do love cupcakes but I don’t think I would enjoy banana-nut ones. Fun feature!
“banana-nut cupcakes with buttercream frosting” YUM…. Lexxie…. this sounds too good to be true.
Buttercream frosting on anything is my idea of yummy! 😉 And I’m wanting to take a cooking class now, too! Slow-burn romance and yummy food…yeah, I need to check out this one, Lexxie.
Happy weekend, my friend!! **BIG HUGS**
That sounds delicious. I just finished a book that was very much into the different flavoured cupcakes and I’m sorry that I forgot about this meme as it would have been a good edition to it.
Thanks for sharing Lexxie now I’m hungry. LOL
