The Sunday Post #60 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere. I’m sure there will be a lot of family anecdotes and maybe some nice turkey recipes in other bloggers’ Sunday post today – I hope all my US friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
This week was much quieter than last week, and I really needed that! I only taught on Monday, and had the rest of the week for Uni classes, my family and some good books. I am feeling ready for some time off soon, though, and I’m happy it’s only a little over three weeks until we leave for Norway for a few days to celebrate Christmas with my family!
I received my signed books order from Tiffany Reisz this week, and I’m so excited to have her full Original Sinners collection in paperback, signed, and decorating my shelves! Aren’t the covers for The Saint, The King, The Virgin and The Queen very cleverly done? I absolutely love that they make out one single picture when put together like that.
Remember that you that you can still sign up for the 2016 New Release Challenge! This challenge is all about reviewing books in 2016 that are released in 2016.
On Thursday evening, there was a book signing in Geneva, and I went with my oldest daughter. It was the Genevan author Joël Dicker who was the star of the evening, and we had a great time! One of his books, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair has been translated to English! While we were standing in line, one of the employees in the store even came to serve us a glass of champagne 😀

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Thanksgiving was the first spent without my family. Baby and I spent it with the new man and his pooch, whom Baby adores. It was also the first holiday I spent entirely in my pajamas, making it perfect for sleeping in and the after-turkey nap. It was simple and quiet…and then the sore throat hit. While the man goes off policing the world at night, the dogs have been on nursemaid duty. Oh, and the night before Thanksgiving we went out to dinner and I almost stepped on one super pissed off copperhead coming out of the garage. There’s a photo in my Sunday Post.
It sounds nice to have spent your whole holiday in your pajamas, Charlie, and simple and quiet is definitely good. Not so good about the soar throat, though. Thanks for stopping by.
Oh, those Reisz covers are very clever! Someone had a good idea and was thinking ahead.
Only 3 weeks until Christmas vacation, nice. I’m envious as my school is only closed for the holiday. I’m glad you enjoyed your quiet week, we all need those now and then.
Have a good week!
I know, right? It looks amazing, and I’m kind of surprised that I didn’t realize this when I saw the covers individually 🙂
We are very lucky with the Christmas vacation this year, the kids (and I) are off from Wednesday, December 23rd in the afternoon, and school won’t start again until January 11th.
Thanks for stopping by, Bea 🙂
Never read Reisz before, so I hope you enjoy these. I love the covers though….they just go together in a harmonious way.
Reisz is amazing, Renee 🙂 I have already read all the books, which is why I was so excited to get the entire set signed!
Oh that is clever how that series makes one long picture! And so cool you have your Tiffany Reisz books all signed! I feel like signed books are extra special. xD
And eeeeep!! Thank you for sharing my post! 😀
Yeah, that’s so cool! The whole woman making one big picture is a great idea.
Looks like a nice signing! I like those Reisz covers too, that’s clever how they did that. I like it when they design covers to match like that…
Glad you got some family time, and have a vacation coming up.
Yeah the matching covers make the series even more stunning in a way.
The signing in Geneva was fun, and I loved that they took such good care of us while we were waiting 😀
Yay for signed books 🙂 It looks like you had a great week!
I had a very good week 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Danielle!

Glad you had a good week. I had a short week too. I had some family over for Thanksgiving and had an even larger family gathering on Saturday to watch football.
Thanks, Melanie 🙂 Short weeks and family gatherings are awesome!
It’s nice to have a quieter week once in awhile. That’s great you got to order some signed books and those covers for The Saint, The King, The Virgin and The Queen are very cleverly done indeed! I like how they work individually as well and when cobmined they form one picture. I’ve seen something similiar with spines a few times, but not with front covers. And yay for you being able to attend a book signing! Have a great week!
Yes, a more quiet week was also needed, Lola!
Yeah, those covers are just amazing – my eyes almost popped out of my head when I opened the package 🙂
Thanks for stopping byo!
YAY for quieter weeks, signed books and book author events 😀 Sounds like you had a fantastic week Lexxie!! The covers for The Saint, The King, The Virgin and The Queen are super clever!! I love it! Have a fantastic Sunday ♥
Yeah, I had a really good week, Micheline 🙂 I can’t wait to have some more time so I can read all the books I’ve added to my shelves lately 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
Those Reisz covers are truly amazing! And I would love to have champagne at a book signing! How fun is that?
Enjoy your new books…and thanks for visiting my blog.
Being served champagne while waiting made standing in line so much better, Laurel-Rain 🙂

Ah! a nice quiet week, I love those kind of weeks. The next few weeks will be busy around here but I am actually looking forward to it 🙂
I have never read her books but I am loving the covers on the bottoms ones. That is so neat and very creative 🙂
I need to set up my sign up for 2016 New Release challenge 🙂 I enjoyed it last year and I did keep track on Goodreads and I did pretty good!!!
Have a great week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! ox
Nice, quiet weeks are a must every now and then, Michelle!
I think you’d enjoy the Original Sinners, they are a bit dark, and definitely different, but so well written!
I’m so happy you’re joining the New Release Challenge again 🙂
Omg those book covers are beyond clever! I kind of wish I was creative enough to think of something like that haha.
The new release challenge looks fun, I think I’ll have to sign up for it!
Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving with your family. That’s awesome that you’re going to Norway for the Holidays 🙂
I agree, the person who came up with the idea for those covers deserves a prize!! I hope you’ll sign up for the New Release Challenge, Rachel – it is a great way to keep us motivated to read those new releases 🙂
You deserve some rest, for sure! Hugs…
It was so nice to have a slow week, Ro. Now, only a few more weeks, then I’m off for almost three weeks!
YOU ARE GOING TO NORWAY???!!!
Yup going to celebrate Christmas with my mom and my sister 🙂 Have I never told you I’m Norwegian?
I’m glad to hear that this past week was a little quieter for you! I hope you have a great week ahead.
Thanks, Samanta 🙂
Glad you have a quieter week work-wise Lexxie and could focus more on your studies and reading etc. The author event looks great (and nice to see some pics of you!) I haven’t been to one for a little while now and find them really invigorating. I’m always passionate about reading but author events remind me how much goes into producing something that I sometimes take for granted!
There are very few author events around here, and sometimes, if there is one, I haven’t read the author. I don’t read very much in French, but Dicker’s books are really good 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Norway for Christmas sounds AMAZING!! Congrats on your new books and the signing must have been so cool! 😀
Yes, Christmas in Norway is always special, since I grew up there and my mom and sister still live there 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Tracy.
I’m not going out of town, but I’m still SO ready for something of a break. I’ll probably be busy this week with a final research paper due on Friday. Ugh. haha
-Lauren
Oh… final research paper. I second the *ugh*! I have a presentation to do in class next Friday, however, we haven’t talked all that much about the subject I want to cover, so I have no idea how I’m going to prepare that…
I want to go to Norway! I have relatives there I’d love to meet in person. The book signing looks like it was fun. Have a great week.
You should definitely go to Norway, Christy! It’s a great place, and if you have relatives there, I’m sure they’d be happy to meet you!! I met my American relatives when they visited Norway when I was a teenager. My great-grandmother’s sister emigrated, and it was her children, grand-children and great-grand-children who came for a visit. It was a lot of fun.
That’s funny, my great-grandma, who was like one of my bffs when I was little, is from Norway. My aunts and cousins went and visited the family there years ago. You wouldn’t happen to be related to a Mable that moved here, would you? lol
I can’t say I know a Mable, Christy… My great-grandma’s sister’s name was Olga, she lived in Michican 🙂 It would have been too funny if we found out we were related 😀
My great-grandma settled in North Dakota. That would been really funny though.
I think I have met all my American relatives, though, so it was pretty unlikely, but you never know, right?
I want to go to a signing where champagne is served!!! 😉 And such a lovely author to look at! 😉 I’m glad your week was quieter and hopefully you have a relatively quiet week on tap for this week? We have some chatting to do! 😀 I’m happy we only have 3 weeks til Christmas break even if I’m going to be working 2 of them. Thanks, as always, for the shout out!
Happy Monday, my friend! **BIG HUGS**
#1 and I certainly enjoyed that part of it. And yes, Mr. Dicker is definitely lovely to look at! And he was so friendly, too -#1 hardly knew how to talk to him 😀
I think this week will be quite quiet… I do have two papers to write, but you know… chatting is important, too! :p
*BIG HUGS*
Those covers are great, I love when they match up like that as there is nothing worse than getting a series and the covers are all different!
I am glad you had a quieter week, you always sound so busy, have a lovely week ahead!
I know, I almost want to find a way to display those books that way so I can always see the full picture 😀
Thanks for stopping by, Heather!
You know I am super jealous about the Tiffany signed books *shakes fist* They look great!
Looks like the signing was fun too!
They look amazing! I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about the international shipping, Naomi… If I ever see something like that again, I’ll let you know for sure 🙂
